I like SDS more than EA or 2K.
That's the "tallest midget in the room" award.
Congrats, SDS.

The batting is rng. Which is why we are not allowed to move in the batters box or open/close batting stance.
If they added those things they would have to adjust the bat contact result table and possibly create several more results tables for open and closed and how we could adjust our timing by moving forward, back or side to side.
So instead of adding in something lots of other baseball games had from the start, they just don’t because it would take too much coding to hide the rng.

Another day, another DD casual getting triggered by their own noobness. What most of you complaining Karens don't realize is that if your only experience with The Show is online stuff and DD stuff its going to be hot garbage because default settings are basically for an arcade experience. If you play this game offline with Franchise with tested Sliders, which might take many hours to adjust, this game plays as a very good Simulation of baseball. Most of you never get to experience this cause all you're concerned about is collecting cards and building your silly All-Star teams and when something goes wrong you come on here and yap and yap that the game is broken, when all that's happening is your lack of practice/skill isn't there because you don't put in the work and you're stuck playing at Default game settings.

I stay away from the online games and play only franchise mode and I have to tell you, I haven’t had too much of a problem with the game. The only issues I’ve had is the fact that they shortened the last name audio and the commentary is too repetitive. I will say this though, I like 21 more than 22. Maybe it’s because of the lack of scripture. Actually I like boog sciambi, but Chris singleton, well he needs more personality, energy, if you will.

Hahaha I like this reaction, DD is the reason this game sucks, wish we could go back to 2014 or 2015 when dd wasn't there yet

God i love reading your posts! Most of the pissers and moaners never play outside DD. They don't even truly experience the game. Shame too cuz they post all over like they know game so well. And we wonder why things can't get added or fixed.

Can't disagree more. I'd rather have authentic stances that resemble the actual player than moving around the box like a 90's game.
Also, every single game (sports or not) has RNG. Accept it. It's part of coding. Farming simulator has it.

You do know that a majority of game tuning patches are merely adjusting global sliders in the back end. In addition to modifying some animation tables and call functions for various events, it's pretty much the same basic product out of the box from April until the end of the game cycle.

Yes i do understand that in more of a dumbed down version as opposed to someone like yourself who is in computer science field. I was mostly speaking to the point josh made in regards to the sliders people can adjust to make game play more realistic, rather than thier opinions of how bad the game is when only basing it off of DD.

I agree that offline play is fabulous. Adjusting sliders for a "lifelike MLB experience" is obtainable without a doubt.
Personally speaking, I enjoy the DD aspect of card acquisition, players that I recall seeing over my lifetime etc, and the online capabilities of playing with friends using unique rosters.
Unfortunately, the biggest crutch is the variable gameplay speeds, PCI, RNG etc between modes. Moments play different than vs CPU, ranked, event to event etc. SDS keeps tweaking sliders mid flight, and it's infuriating.

I enjoy DD for the same reasons as yourself. But i jump around and play RTTS and Franchise as well.
I can't speak on the MP side of things too much b/c it is screwed up in alot of ways and i don't play as much as i used too for various reasons. I first noticed significant change to DD when they changed the pitch speeds. The rewards for making it to WS was a big factor to that change as well. Although making it available to those who put in innings was a step in right direction to include every1.
And part of the problem is the player base. Some of the content creators are at fault for that as well. They make a video about gameplay or expose something wrong within game then release the video b/c they want views instead of editing it out. They add b/c it gets views. And you figure top 5 content creators have what? , at least 4k views, that's 20 k people now using the exploit and doing thier part to make game experience worse. So lack of integrity is also partially to blame.
I guess it boils down to SDS could definitely do things to make it better, but player base could also as well. Where does it begin?
I don't know if maybe a survey during AS break would help the next version or not? But i don't think survey after Beta helps, b/c that gives them what a month or two at most to make tweaks by the time they sift through all the surveys?

"Lack of scripture"? -- you atheist!
The thing not being said here is that Franchise has gotten the total shaft from SDS several years running now. So even if you can get that mode to play a solid game of non-RNG baseball, the mode itself is a sham. Scouting and drafting sucks, progression/regression suck (mostly regression), the offseason sucks, not having owner mode stuff sucks (used to be there)...
That being said, what sliders do you use? Are they available for download?
I am having a good time doing a fantasy franchise in which I allow trades the first Spring Training to load up on young players for the long term. It's fun having Witt, Torkelson, Adley, Kelenic, in the starting lineup and developing them.

I have to admit that I haven’t had too much experience with the game I have only been playing the game since they introduced it to Xbox for MLB 21 so I’m not too familiar with the gameplay but I have played all star baseball Way back when for Nintendo and even that was a much better commentary than what they have now in this game and that’s sad to say in my opinion
But anyhow I like to create players like Jim Rice, who happens to be my favorite player. But I’m happy Chris Sale is in the game. He always brings the win to my Red Sox team. I also recruited Randy Jackson and Dennis Eckersley who I like having all 3 of those pitchers in my rotation. And David Ortiz, Ken Griffey sr, wade boggs, and Duke Snider on my team. So I have a pretty strong team thus far.
But for the most part I am enjoying franchise mode. My team is at least 15 games ahead of the Yankees in first place.
-
I wish I knew how to get rid of stat cast though. It seems like every time I get a hit, stat cast happens. I really don’t care how hard I hit the ball every time

For me, It's less about the difficulty, or RNG of the game. Some of our concerns are more about the "copy/paste" direction that SDS takes with each year's iteration.
My gripe is that I'm a ball player and gamer, and a dad, and a normal human being with limited time to waste on gaming.
I'm frustrated that they have a solid game but they aren't improving on it or fixing problems quickly. ESPECIALLY when the game is left behind come April when the new year's game comes out.
Even if I invested in it every year and enjoyed a smooth game every year, I can't get over the fact of how copy and paste the animations are. I see the same player animations over and over. Same hitting and field animations over and over. Very robotic field mechanics.
It's a lazy update to a game that's been the same for 15 years, hiding behind a few new modes, and new clean graphics.
