Agree actually

Well of course in the grand scheme of life, baseball doesn't matter compared to innocent people dying. But basically, that's every day in human history.
I get your point, of course, but this is a baseball video game forum so while a healthy dose of perspective never hurt, there's nothing wrong with people venting about a crummy situation in baseball.

I care about baseball, I also care about what is going on in the world. It is very sad that the stuff going on in Ukraine and in the US or around the World is hurt breaking. Being able to live in the US is a blessing to have freedom the way we do. Places here in the US being hit with Hurricanes some pretty bad ones this year. Then the situation in Canada with the truck drivers, Third World Country surviving, China wants to take back Taiwan. It is a laundry list of things happening in the World every day where it involves innocent people dying. Yes that is more important then anything I am doing everyday. I still care about the things I love and like.

Its good to have distractions.

Second week of the season has been canceled:
-
The players and owners earn much money so play ball. Then everybody can watch the games. Now they are losing money.
-
Its been delayed again and now 162 is on the table again lmao. Manfred is a joke.

Manfred should stick to golf, and let me and you hammer out a deal. We'd get it done in an afternoon.
One additional rule (non-negotiable) - all playoff games at Date Palm Field (best field).
-
CBS is saying baseball is back
-
Yep, agreement reached
-
how long is this cba? and what rule changes are to be implemented in 2022?
-
Hardly noticed the lockout because no games were scheduled

I believe the (tentative) labor agreement allows for the MLB to make certain rule changes more quickly. Possible rule changes include a pitch clock, bigger bases and a ban on certain defensive shifts. These changes may be implemented for the 2023 season, at the earliest.
For 2022, the highlights I heard were limiting how many times a player can be sent to the minors (five), bigger arbitration pool, advertisement logos on jerseys and hats (yuck), a 12 team post-season, a draft lottery, raised minimum salary, Etc.

is it 12 team or 14 team?
and is the runner on 2nd in extra innings no longer a thing?

I read it was 12 teams.

12 playoff teams and:
"Among the changes in the new CBA is the return of nine-inning doubleheaders, and a removal of the runner-on-second rule to start extra innings... per ESPN's Jesse Rogers"

Thanks. I actually liked those 2 rules after thinking I'd hate them. The extra innings runner on 2nd added more strategy to the game. I can live with going back to the old way.

@Ikasnu_PSN and I say... YOU'RE WELCOME.
I told you we'd get it done. Ikasnu held firm with his demands, and ownership caved.
-
Both owners and players believe you get the best deal at the last minute, it was always getting done in March.
