Going to be that guy.

Yes, I am that guy that has to come to this forum feeling proud he made WS for first time.
I am closer To 50 than 40, and a baseball die hard. I coach my son’s travel team which is one of the best in the country for their age and we bond over the sport. I have played the show for ages but always RtTS , but he turned me on to DD last year for first time. I loved collecting cards as a kid so was hooked and while it took me a bit to adapt to the speeds of RS, made Championship series most seasons but would always die in low 800s.
This year I only made one attempt prior to this season but made the mistake of trying to go from 600 to 900 WS on 5 days and it just burnt me out having To try to play multiple games on days I was clearly off, peaking around 865 than sliding back…. I thought I wouldn’t even try again as I don’t really like RS but decided to give it one more shot and do it slow this time. Went 16-3 on the season and hit near .300 which is good for me.
Anyway, my wife’s eyes would roll so fast she might suffer brain damage if I tried to explain this “accomplishment” to her so you guys are one of the few places that might appreciate my story.
Thanks to those who made it this far in my post…this “old guy” for this community and game signing out.
Cheers ( yes, I will shamelessly rock the WS icon for a short while )

Congrats man!

Thanks Raes ( actually a mistake post while trying to edit an error in the original ️)
-
Congrats!! Did you start Grove (and how did he do).
-
I don't think anyone would criticize you for being excited over reaching WS for the first time. Good job dude.
-
Congrats, awesome job! Looks good above your name!

Thanks all!
Yes, started Grove and he went 7 giving up 3 hits, 2 solo homers. Goose came in last 2 and they combined for 21 Ks.
He threw P5 Degrom who is always tough but I think I got 5 off him and a solo shot offf Matzek in the 9th for the 6-2 W.
I won my last 5 games which kept away that brutal sickness of losing and dropping lower as you get close to 900.

Rock that icon!
I remember many were happy to rock the gold watch icon for maxing the Daily Moment month.
I want to play RS so bad, but I still drop my PCI and get under a lot of crushable pitches. Timing is 'Good 85-90% of the time, but i would leave too many runs on the table to win consistently. -

Before the lockout, TEX did quite well...Corey Seager and Marcus Semien. The AL West is going to have all 5 teams competing in September!

Congrats @OreoRockstar_PSN. You're one of the more thoughtful and insightful posters on here and have helped me
by answering questions here and there many times. I just turned 40 and feel like I'm the only old(er) guy on here so it's nice to see a bunch of people play this game in my age range. That's awesome you got to WS. Who did you select? And was this a new reward or do you have everyone and just made some bank? I know that's not the point of this achievement, but it's definitely a nice perk.

You deserve it! You’re a heck of a player and a great mentor as well. All of your hard work paid off! Do it again while you’re still young!

Hate to burst your bubble, but the game is about dead as dead as a game can be and the quality of the players at this point is an absolute shell of what it was.
Still…..nice accomplishment, but it isn’t the same accomplishment as it was up through when Trout dropped.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to really be “that guy”! And congratulations, you win.
I am more proud of the comments by guys like Ericulous and Blind Bleeder about my character on this forum than making WS, doubt we can find anyone on this board that will vouch for your’s….
Hope that post made you feel better about yourself…..

In Cody's defense he is right about the level of competition dropping around this time of year.

Congrats, Wyatt! I knew it would happen eventually. Contrary to a few of the other opinions, I disagree and think it’s just as hard at this time of year. Celebrate, brother!
