Alice in Chains were great and Dirt is one of my favorite albums ever. Not many bad songs on there if any.
Now I'm the guy that gets depressed by a song. That last "Live in Concert" that Layne Staley did, shortly before he died, have you ever seen that? He was clearly on his last legs, his skin was so yellow it was almost green, but he still killed it. Every song he killed it. Rest in peace, Layne.
Yes I've seen it, he was amazing. I never got to see him preform live although I wish I had.
AIC was better than Nirvana in those days in my opinion, but Nirvana got more hype. I liked them both, but AIC was more raw.

NIN is underrated. It wasn't just [censored] angst, as famous as Closer made them. Trent sang about more than that. Then he became the best music maker in the whole movie business!

Alice in Chains were great and Dirt is one of my favorite albums ever. Not many bad songs on there if any.
Now I'm the guy that gets depressed by a song. That last "Live in Concert" that Layne Staley did, shortly before he died, have you ever seen that? He was clearly on his last legs, his skin was so yellow it was almost green, but he still killed it. Every song he killed it. Rest in peace, Layne.
Yes I've seen it, he was amazing. I never got to see him preform live although I wish I had.
AIC was better than Nirvana in those days in my opinion, but Nirvana got more hype. I liked them both, but AIC was more raw.
I sing in a few bands when I'm not at work or getting my [censored] kicked in RS. I have a 90s band and AIC is one of the hardest bands to cover because Layne's voice and Cantrell's harmonies are so intricate and haunting.
Soundgarden is another amazing band from that era and nobody sings like Cornell did. RIP to another great.
Queens of the Stone Age is a lesser known but still popular band from the late 90s and early 2000s led by Josh Homme, the ultimate guitar slinging, vocally slick rock star.
Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters and Nirvana hopped behind the kit for their third album and Mark Lanagan from Screaming Trees (another Seattle Grunge band) sang some tracks and it blew up. You've probably heard 'No one Knows, 'Go with the Flow' and perhaps 'Little Sister' which they famously played on SNL with Will Farrell playing cowbell Ala the 'more cowbell' skit.
Queens has done all kinds of great projects and are something of a super group. Josh Homme and Dave Grohl did an album with John Paul Jones from Zeppelin called Them Crooked Vultures. It is amazing.
Try these albums by Queens: Villains, Like Clockwork, Lullabies to Paralyze, Songs for the Deaf and Era Vulgaris. They feature guest appearances from Trent Reznor, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Billy Gibbons from ZZ top, Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys and Rob Halford from Judas Priest to name a few.
If you like AIC, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden etc, you will love Queens of the Stone Age.

Love Smashing Pumkins. I need to check out a few of these I'm not familiar with.

- Muse/Queen

- Black Crowes.
I also love Van Halen, Aerosmith, Bowie, The Stones, Led Zeppelin and so many more.
More current favorites: Royal Blood, Rival sons, Alter Bridge, TV on the Radio, Chevelle and a lot more.
It's hard to believe Eddie Vedder is the only one left out of the big 5 of the grunge band founders from Seattle to still be alive.
He did make a song titled 'Alive.'

I prefer AIC because they leaned more towards metal/ hard rock then most of the grunge bands. I don't mind Nirvana but like I said earlier I love AIC.
It's a bit of a different genre, but the same sentiment. You ever heard of Elliott Smith?

duuuude you're in for a treat if you can stand depressing stuff. He died by suicide, and his manner of suicide was by stabbing himself with a knife through his own heart. So he was pretty emo.
I recommend "no name #1" by elliott smith. He won awards for the soundtrack of Good Will Hunting though. He wrote and performed that entire score for that movie.
Edited to add: King's Crossing. I'd recommend that over no name #1. Both are dynamite though.
I saw Elliot live three or four times. Every show was super intimate and memorable.

First heard him on KCMU driving in my car. The song was “Angeles”. Been a huge fan ever since. One time at the Velvet Elvis, the audience would not let him finish his set. He was like, “But I have to pee…”
The crowd parted like the Red Sea and Elliot went to the bathroom, took a leak, then came back and played a half dozen more songs.

I gotta share my best Show musical moment. I was listening to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. It's quite a long track, a good 8 minutes or even longer. It's mostly slow, but by the end it ramps up, including cannons going off. One time, right when the cannons started, I hit a walk-off homer. It couldn't have been planned any better. I should have hung up the sticks right there and just retired on the spot, cause I'll never have a better show moment than that.

Then my opponent forgot how to hit again and I crept back in it scoring in the next three innings. I lost 5-3 but felt totally fine about it because I had a lot of really good swings and the game was obviously Verlander-ing me.

Mumble rap make it easy to only focus on the game or anything but what you listen... for real slow/medium tempo whatever type of music help me a lot to stay focus for long time and also a lot of Harry Mack stuff don't know why but I'm good when I'm listening at ...

The Sword are a band from Texas that sound like volume 4 era Black Sabbath. Very tasty.
