I don’t dashboard every time, but when I do, the game is finished.
-
I see what you did there!

Had someone dashboard me today with a no doubt homerun still in the air. And that homerun was going to complete a stat mission. It's so annoying. I filed a feedback report with SDS but I don't think anything is going to change for '21. Hopefully it's fixed for '22.

I had it it happen to me twice in Events out of the handful of games I played today. Its not like I was up that much or at all. So many just quit if you hit a homer in the first. I hope they figure out a way that the play will finish once it starts no matter if one loses connection to the game.

I got dashboarded in RS earlier today. We were trading solo shots and it was tied 3-3 and then I hit a 2 run bomb with Pujols and he was gone. I don't understand people sometimes. You just quit if you can't demolish the other person? Pathetic lol

That’s kinda what I’m getting at. The game I won today, I literally gave up a no doubter to Joe Morgan on the first pitch. I stuck around and battled his P4 Verlander, with numerous good swings amounting to nothing, including two perfect lineouts. Finally I managed to score a runner from second and when I took the lead in the 6th, he dashboarded mid-inning down one run.

There are 2 different issues going on here. One is quitting prematurely when you go down 1-2 runs. The other more egregious behavior is dashboarding to literally steal away the other player's hits (almost exclusively a home run). The former seems just a personal choice and the other player gets the win and moves on. The latter is literally THEFT, even though the injured party still gets the win. There needs to be a stop to dashboarding once and for all. The rest is just poor sportsmanship and you need to deal with it.

Is the title to this thread a new song from R.E.M.?

I don't understand dashboarding over just quitting, you take an L both ways but now you have to restart the game instead of just hoping into the next game

Come on, you understand it. Dashboard if is literally giving your opponent the middle finger because they beat you. It’s the ultimate temper tantrum of poor sportsmanship and their way of telling you to F Off due to beating them in a video game.
People like that could not care less that they have to reboot their system.

Honestly I love it when my opponent dashboards. I only have a certain amount of time to collect wins in events and RS so i love it when I can get an extra game in. My best hitter is George Brett and I bat him 1st in the line up because he hits walk off lead off home runs for me all the time

See this I do not understand at all. Why would you load up a game then quit because you gave up a lead off home run?

Some people are more concerned with their ERA than with wins. Especially since you can get a WS reward just by winning 'X' amount of games.

I care about my ERA. I’ve given up first pitch home runs in two of my last five games. I also won both. If someone cared about their ERA, wouldn’t it make more sense to keep pitching and put up zeros on the scoreboard?

I never dashboard. I always let my opponent's 500 foot bomb land before I quit. You guys should pray that you play me. This, plus a multitude of other reasons, is why I'm just an all around great guy.

Don't flatter yourself, but at the same time thank you. If my opponent is clearly better than me I'll quit a game early and move on, but I almost always finish out the half inning and I always let home runs land before I quit. I've had too many home runs that would have completed a stat mission get stolen away by a petty dashboard to do that to someone else.

The classiest ones are the guys that let it land, replay your homer, then quit.
