Dude.. I played college baseball. It is illegal to bring in a SP for a reliever.

Unless you played college ball in 1915 you are lying. Have you not watched the MLB playoffs any of the last 15 years? SP are brought in fairly often in the playoffs.

Where did you go to college? Lol ask the 2014 Royals If they weren’t shut down by a starter in relief during the 7th game of the World Series

Heck, the NATIONALS won their WS title almost on SP alone, both starting games and from the pen.

There's no point. He can't hear you. He's probably in the next county by now, preaching about how defensive players have to play in the exact same spot for every hitter.

    Funny thread.

I often bring a starter out of the pen if a game goes to extra innings. I might bring a starter out if the pen if I get rocked in the third or fourth inning too.

    So what?

Is it worse than facing P5 DeGrom every game?

It’s simply illegal in the game of baseball. That’s why they don’t do it in the MLB. Haha you obviously don’t know anything. Nvm I rest my case

Show me here where it states that it is illegal?

Anyone else notice when a guy resorts to "I rest my case", he's often dead wrong?

Maybe he shouldn't have let his case rest.

Mr, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

This card is from a season where he started 23 games during the regular season. https://mlb21.theshow.com/items/86f7d456aa5848c284f7940bdecdef5d

It's happened for a long time. Another memorable one was Randy Johnson coming in for over an inning in game 7 of 2001.

There have be a few events where the LH RP selection was sparse so I used LH SP if thr situation called for. Events is a different ball game (pun intended) than Ranked Seasons though.

Unfortunately the OP has ripped off his jersey Antonio Brown style and is skipping through the end zone with indignant, sophomoric rage as he realizes he's made up an argument and a bunch of intelligent baseball fans showed him the error of his ways. OP is no longer a Buc....I mean, no longer in this thread.

Oh yeah, and there's a drive by Castellanos and it's gonna go for a Home run.

Post of the year. So good. Why are people still talking about this?

Nice allusion to one of the all time uncomfortable TV moments in MLB.

    obviously

Totally not true. I distinctly remember Bumgarner coming in as a relief pitcher in either the clinching game of the '12 or '14 World Series. And Jon Lester did the same in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series. It doesn't happen in the regular season because you don't want to mess up your rotation in 1 game when a season is 162. But in high leverage postseason games you see it more often. It is not against the rules.

Lol I posted that in here but I don’t think anyone watched it.

I totally understand what this guy is saying. I was playing a guy the other day and he did the most incredulous thing you can do in a baseball game. Bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, down by one run, his pitcher was coming up to bat and inexplicably he used a bench player to come into the game and hit for his pitcher. I was appalled to say the least, but I still won. Karma I guess.

This guy is trolling lol. It takes 2 seconds to Google it and see MLB teams do it all the time, so clearly not illegal. Don't feed the trolls guys.

I honestly am leaning more towards him being a moron over trolling.

He claims to have played in college. Anybody who played ball or is even a casual fan of baseball would know it's not illegal. There's no way it's not a troll job. The moronic level is too astronomical for it to be genuine.

I think everyone misunderstood him. He probably meant he played MVP 06 NCAA Baseball for Xbox 360 once at a frat house, and thus knows everything there is to know about Major League Baseball.

That was a fun game, but I really miss the NCAA football games!

That's because it was a troll post. Got everybody riled up and then sits back and watches his handiwork. Pretty successful troll I'd say lol.
