I guess I'm in the minority. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but I really don't like it. I think the Finest card art for 18, 19, and 20 are all way better. Maybe it will grow on me.

I don’t get why they couldn’t put a shiny/shimmer effect on it though, since they do it for LS diamonds.

I’m real happy that a 99 Posey card came out. Card art is amazing. I’m a little bummed that they gave us a 34 year old Posey with 14 speed and only the ability to P5 him to 19 speed. I don’t think this card is usable online. Should of given us his MVP card which would of least had 40 speed. At least we got him though 👍🏻

Love it alot always like the finest card art. Personally 17 is still my favorite buy it's like at 1 a,b,c,d kinda argument.

I really wish SDS would make the finest card into a physical thing that comes in the limited edition of the next game

I could be wrong, but I don't remember Finest being in 17. Pretty sure that started in 18.

It's fine, but it's not that great. More flashy flashy bling bling doesn't make better card art.

You're not. I mean it's snazzy, but clearly someone tried too hard on these. That Gold thing makes it look like a Gold card! Not hating, just sayin'

When will SDS incorporate the concept of relics into their cards? It might already be too late now that Fanatics thinks that all baseball card collectors are just gonna put their money into Fanatics cheap trash. But in real life baseball cards, relic cards are a big deal. I personally own a Hank Aaron gold refractor Topps Finest, numbered to 24, that is worth about $5K (there is a green relic on ebay right now for 4K and mine is better). It has a real sliver of his real actual game used bat incorporated into the card (as well as a hand signed auto).

Other collectable cards have pieces of jerseys in them. SDS should get into that, again, before Fanatics takes over and turns baseball cards into trash collecting.

Yeah the speed really hurts this card but so far I'm loving his swing. I'm guessing they didn't juice Posey too much otherwise no one would even consider Bench. I'm still going to keep using Posey for now, just need to have a backup catcher incase you need to pinch run.

Yeah, refractorish, I can see that. I actually got the feeling of the 90s Fleer cards. Like Fleer Metal or something.

As for the card, it’s cool we got the 99 Posey, but like the guy said, the old Posey is missing some from what an MVP award or sig might have had. Could have had more speed, maybe better contact vs. right (not that it’s a big deal). Does feel like they boosted his power with this one though

Johnny Bench, in real life, was probably the best catcher of all time. But in the game, he's demonstrably worse than Jonah Heim. Anyone that uses Johnny Bench, no joke, I feel a degree of sympathy towards. Poor guy doesn't have the time to try out all the different options, so he goes by ratings and thinks he has a good card. He doesn't know. He doesn't know 😞

I haven't looked at his attributes, are you saying that Bench plays worse than Heim in the game or are his attributes actually worse? I swear I'm not being sarcastic, I just started playing this year and I loved Bench's 94. But I know the Topps cards were juiced like crazy and I wouldn't be surprised if you're right.

    I want to know haha

Bench (and Yount for that matter) is one of the best of all time. I’m glad they’re in the game.

Bench is notorious in MLB the Show, since at least 15, for having a terrible swing. He's not a real option. He's a "Red" Herring.

    Get the pun?

In all seriousness though he has probably the worst swing in the game. I can name 11 bronze catchers that are better hitters.

So don’t use him. I’m sure there are people that will. I will sometimes as I like to change my lineup often (especially when playing conquest games).
