Padres collapse has greatly affected my mental health
Yeah, I hear that. What a depressing and pathetic end to what started as a great season.
Let's hope Jayce Tingler is gone and there is some overhaul in staff. There is no excuse for them playing this badly.
With all the money they spent? Crazy.
Of course, being in the most competitive division in baseball doesn't help but to add all that and still not have nearly the level of talent as the Dodgers is disgusting.
LOL don’t kid yourself. The best two teams in baseball are beating up on Arizona and Colorado. The division has two teams over .500
The AL East’s 4th place team is 17 games over .500. Sure they beat up on the O’s but the 4 others are beating on each other and everyone else in the AL
To be fair, the AL East is more competitive and I had a brain fart. But the NL West is a close second. The Dodgers and Giants have been really good and the Padres definitely should have been. These teams all have a lot of talent.
No doubt the Padres have been a disappointment. Everyone thought the division was between them and the Dodgers
Talented as they are, I don't think anyone saw the Giants being as good as they have been.
I think a healthy Posey not only helps offensively but is also beneficial big time for the starting rotation. Gausman has been a true revelation and Kapler is doing a great job proving naysayers wrong after his time in Philly
Helps that they seemed to have dipped in the fountain of youth. Posey, Crawford, Belt, and Longoria are all having their best seasons in years. There is a lot of people that suspect they are cheating somehow, thats just how good they have been.

The A's second half collapse has killed my interest in watching baseball for the year. I'm fully focused on football, where the 49ers hopefully won't be so disappointing.
Niner fan as well brotha. Do you hate the Packers as much as I do?
Nah. All my football hatred is reserved for the seahawks.

The scenarios they were drawing up for the potential four way tie for the AL Wild Card is insane, although unlikely to happen.
As a Jays fan I’m enjoying this great baseball while also slowly losing my sanity. Whatever happens I think this team will be a legit threat in the coming years. Fingers crossed we can resign Semien and Ray, ownership has the money!
This off season is like to see one more 3-5 starter, a reliable bullpen arm, preferably a lefty to compliment Mayza and a everyday 3B. I like Espinal but I think he’s better served as a bench/utility player.
There is actually a 5-way tie scenario too, but it requires Baltimore to win 4 out of 6, so while statistically possible, realistically impossible
If they played the Astros their last 6 games it would have been possible lol. Astros best in MLB against winning teams. Not so much against losing teams.

I would argue he’s probably in better shape now than when he was actually playing

As much as I would love for a straight up TOR/SEA wildcard game, I'm definitely rooting for a 4 way tie more. All it takes is Toronto and Seattle to win out, Boston loses 1 of their last 4, and the Yankees to drop 1 vs Tampa. As a tigers fan a 4 way tie would be the best outcome

Why hate the Packers? They are not my favorite team, but a friend of mine who was a Packers fan had me watch them back in the day, and Favre was one of the greatest QB’s I have ever seen. I think he had part of his intestines removed (don’t quote me on that) and he still had more guts than anyone in the league. Rogers is one of the best of his time too.
I don’t mint the 49rs. I was a big Joe Montana fan. That guy was the meaning of clutch.

The hate comes from their greatness. I couldn’t tell you how many times Favre and Rodgers stole games that we had in hand. Like the other night with 34 seconds left. I knew it was coming

I get that. It’s like me with the Pats before Brady left. Though I was pretty excited to see the Giants get two Super Bowls from them, despite their unscrupulous tactics. Best of luck to you and the Niners.

Back on baseball topic, Yanks are giving themselves a tough time to clinch a WC berth

I like the Yankees. They are the most storied sports team, plus I love baseball. If they get swept, they don’t belong in the playoffs. I don’t think a team that is in third place has any business in the playoffs either, and that could be how they get in.

Lol great take. The 4th place team in the AL west is less than 2 games game back of every other division leader in the American League. FOURTH not THIRD. They could still miss out even if the Yankees get swept. The white Sox have an entire division with a losing record. Baltimore would probably knock them off lmao.

This is going to come down to the last day. Jays are now only 1 game back of the Yankees, Red Sox could be tied with them. This is amazing.
Guerrero has tied Eddie Matthews for the most home runs a season by a 22 or younger player.

I'm hoping for a 4 team tie. Basically you would get 2 playoff games before the playoffs even start

Jays could still lose the game. They did just bring in Ross Stripling. Between him and Trent Thornton, no lead is safe.

Add in Ryu lately. He’s supposed to start tomorrow and lets just say I’d stay away from him in a must win situation

I would go with Berrios, this is what Toronto brought him in for

He’d be on short rest but yes absolutely, then if you get into a tiebreak scenario, you can go to Ray

Boston has pulled Houck in the 6th inning. He had a perfect game. Strange move
