I have thought about to doing this so many times....

Getting up to mid 600's, lose a bunch of games on purpose to go back down, then win a bunch then lose, rinse and repeat.

I feel like the most fun I have in RS is when I am at or below 650. But I kinda care too much about my win loss record.

How do ya'll get to that 30 or 40 win mark without doing this?

Every season until I get to around 25-30 wins. Then I make run to WS.

Monday night I dropped down to 430. Fix the game where I don't see 110 mph wiffle balls and I'll be more than happy to start at 700. I usually only run my best players from like 750 to 900+ for the initial WS run. Once I make WS I tank back into 7-800's and play with different cards.

I don't care about my record, I care about having fun. Not being able to read or react to pitches because of the lag isn't fun. Coincidentally (cough, cough), the higher you go the worse it is.I think it is a product of me being 8-9+ hours from the alleged server locations and opponents being very close. I just don't think there are very many people in my area that are highly ranked.

wow how do you go from 430 all the way up to world series =X..

    Practice before every game
    15 minutes of thumb exercises
    15 minutes of eye exercises
30 minutes of custom practice against deGrom
15 minutes of custom pitching practice
3 inning practice game against cpu on legend
After the rs game, complete a scouting report on the positives and negatives in the game
Player evaluation to see who makes the starting lineups, bullpen, bench and rotations for next game

Do you seriously do this before playing online? Honestly, I've never understood the idea of practicing vs CPU to play online. The game feels different offline vs online and I feel like I play astronomically worse playing the CPU in any mode/difficulty and then jumping online. I may just be odd though.

Yes, but he would be able to get all of his team up to level V in a single game against me. He might not be better, but his team would be...

If you never want to get better at this game then this is the tactic but some people like competition and to actually get better.

This has zero relevance on getting better at the game. I love to compete but until SDS figures out the connection/server issues plaguing this game that is nothing more than a pipe dream for me. I gave up 3 non-pci HR's just in my last game. Meanwhile, good/good is just a lineout. I'll just play for fun until then. Going to be a while.

Sure it does if you're playing down at All-Star a bunch against a bunch of newer players. You will never get better at the game by beating up on them. It's likepitching Rebel playing against you every game, it's not fair to you and he will never get better playing you.

You do know I just played a top 50 player on legend and lost 8-7. Pitch speeds were warping. I literally had to guess pitch and location (basically get lucky) to score. From a hitting standpoint, the game felt like zero skill. I could not read and react pitches. I have also got this a ton even on all star. So much so that people would never guess I was a WS player. Game is a straight [censored] shoot for me. I generally have to take pitches for a while to try to figure out the speed.

No I don't. I just jump in and play most time. Ain't no amount of practice gonna help me hit 110 mph wiffle balls. If I can read and react to the pitches, the game is over in less than 5 unless I am playing with some not so great cards which I do frequently.

You seem to have a worst go of it than anyone else with the servers. And you stated earlier you live like 8 hours away from the closest server. I don't even know how you know the locations of the servers. Sounds like you just live in the middle of nowhere with bad reception if that were the case I wouldn't even bother playing this game because timing is everything. I also have games where the ball is faster and it seems like a 90 mile per hour pitch is 150 but I don't experience it everyday like you but I also have been playing a lot less I'm playing events and stuff which is that all star I never think all stars too fast.

KC. Almost center of the U.S. Wired fiber with an asus router. It isn't my connection.

Alleged location of servers as someone posted a while back. NJ, Florida, Chicago, Texas, Colorado and West Coast. All places that I coincidentally have when I see these names in the team name. Not always but a lot and vice-versa. I cringe when I see say Chicago in the team name. I know there is a really good chance the game is going to suck. Errors, warped pitches, base stealers not running, baserunning problems, non-pci hr's (I am the king of giving these up. Gave up 3 the last game I played), weak opponent hits, good/good for me going nowhere, etc. The list goes on. Somehow, SDS thinks it is good to match me against these people right next to the servers. Pretty sure this is where the fiber hurts me. Been dealing with these for years and think I finally found the problem. Big relief but absolutely nothing I can do. I would like to see them move a server from Florida to KC. Florida people would struggle making the WS.

That would make sense if I am correct and would explain why you don't see issues or more likely they are rare. My theory is if I'm matched up against you, your info will naturally get to the server before mine. Game has to use a server to sync info. There is definitely an issue somewhere and I believe this is where it lies. Also guessing you probably see consistent pitch speeds. I see different pitch speeds all the time and plenty of games it is impossible to read the ball. I am not your normal 50+ year old when it comes to hand/eye coordination and abilities. This is why I still win a ton of games despite these things.

No dude I see a lot of problems there are times where I turn on a Hall of Fame fastball and I am beyond early then there are times I am late on a 95 mile per hour All-Star fastball. It happens to everybody it sucks. I think it has to do with both players internet and of course the servers and also what time of day and the server load. I noticed when I get home from work early in the morning that is when I have my best games I think there are less people on the game around 5 or 6 or 7 a.m. Central Time. Dinner time isn't even worth playing sometimes

I've thought about that, but I realized I don't have to tank games, I'll probably lose anyhow. In 2 years, the highest I've reached is 667, and that was last week. I'm 20 games under .500 win/loss and I keep getting matched up with people with winning records. I would rather play people like me...losers.

To start every season I do attempt to see how high I can go. I hit 700 every time and got as high As 785 but then I quit about ten straight games to get back down. Once you have maxed out rewards that you can get it makes no sense to try and play against better competition

Lol I'm on the Southside of Chicago

So I could be wrong but think this is what happens. The game needs a server to sync. Say you in Chicago play someone in Philadelphia (yet another bad experience for me most of the time), I think the game determines both pings to servers and finds the best fit. If you have great internet, your ping to the NJ server will be lower than their ping to the Chicago one. Therefore, this game goes through NJ which means the Philly data gets to the server first causing a worse game for you. The more difference in ping, the worse the game experience.

I do think my gaming experience is worse than most because I am 8-9 driving hours from the closest server and my fiber connection pretty much gets anywhere in the U.S. probably under 75 ms. If I am connecting to a server with 50 ping and my opponent is right next to the server at 20, that is a problem. 30 ms doesn't seem like much but it is in an online baseball game.

If I could I would go all the way back to spring training. Just a more relaxed gameplay experience.

You can if you don't care about your record. I'm sure a lot of people see mine and think easy game.

I am in Las Vegas and have issues with the connection, so I don't know how sound your theory is. LOL

    I tank when I get to 650.

It’s not because I’m manipulating to get to 30/40 wins. Tbh that didn’t cross my mind.

It’s purely because HoF is not enjoyable for me.
