Look at mike trout the day he was drafted and then when he made his big league debut. Traps don’t swell like that without a little helprandy arozarena gained 15 pounds of muscle in a few short months!!

No way it’s more than 30%, I’d bet it’s closer to 30 than 30%. How many suspensions have there been? Less than half a dozen this year?
5% or less right now imo, most of the guys who did it were 90s and early 00s and don’t play anymoreThat's because there are doctors out there who earn a killing to mask the use of PEDs. It's a cat and mouse game, always has been. All that money will buy the best doctors and top tier knowledge. I honestly believe it's much much bigger than we think. Not just in MLB, also in the NFL for example.
It’s not that much more than we think, there’s probably a few more but it’s probably less than 50 guys if I had to guess
You're young and probably still a little naive Kieran. Nothing wrong with that of course, but you probably haven't had the life experience yet where you learn that people will do MANY things to secure a pay check or excel in a very strong competitive environment.
lol call me young because you don't have an actual argument. We're both adults boss
See, your sensitive reaction shows your immaturity. It's an unnecessary response because I did make an argument, more than 1 actually.
Nah boss, you’re just making guesstimatations about something you really known nothing about just because of how it was 30 years ago, I’m using logic and coming to the conclusion that because of the high risk and the fact that we’ve had less suspensions, it’s less frequent then you think

The league has absolutely 0 incentive to actually catch players using steroids.
Agents have contacts in the league office and youre naive if you don’t believe they hand over a list to those agents of all the players subject to a test. Tests can be cheated.
I have a friend who’s brother played in the nfl and said he knows zero guys not on steroids in the nfl.
I play college baseball and can confirm the vast majority of guys in college are juicingThe fact that the league has 0 incentive and still guys like Laureano get busted shows it’s not commonplace

Come on man, you like to use logic as you claim. Sometimes people mess up and forget to take the supplement to mask the PEDs or take a wrong dose or whatever and they slip through the mandatory tests. Watch Screwball on Netflix and come back to this thread with a fresh perspective.

Especially in NCAA because drug test are random and a steroid fail is a year suspension no questions asked.

Also not sure if this is confirmed or not but I think trout has an HGH exemption for a thyroid issue. So yes he had help, but the league approved it apparently

My 17yr old is taking creatine to try and build some bulk. He even sees kids who have just exploded and doesn't know how? roids are rampant in all sports and anywhere there is competetion. If you have 1-2 kids at highschool trying to get an advantage to get drafted or to get a paid education at a higher level then you know they will do it in college to try to make it to the next level. Once they make it to the biggs then they need to take it to rise again. Once they start they won't stop unless they get caught. The punishment isn't harsh enough to detur them.

I'm skeptical about this claim... With testing now you need designer PEDs to avoid detection. You can't just take run of the mill stimulants or steroids anymore. It's probably confined to a select group who are well connected. I especially doubt they advertise they do it.
Yeah for real, the risk of getting caught leads me to believe it's a lot less than commonplace
Just like the risk of getting a speeding ticket keeps me ant the other millions of people on the freeway from speeding right?

Exactly! Thank you. The problem is that people who don't know just don't know and therefore think it's not a real thing. But once you know, you see it everywhere. Most guys didn't even make it a secret in our locker room or try to hide it.

Yes, it runs rampant in HS and college were there isn't sophisticated testing or none at all. When I played in the 90s my school was clean, but my best friend moved from Texas to Elgin Illinois just outside of Chicago and actually was almost immediately put on roids. Next time he came back to town he was ripped. No bulky but just ripped and bragging about it. This was before things started coming out in MLB

Still happens today. Young guys who gain 20lbs of clean muscle in less than 6 months when they never lifted before in their life and don't have a very specific bulking diet.

You’re naive, but it’s ok to be when you’re young; I truly believed Big Mac in 98 when he said he only took andro…
Fly the Cardinal avatar like your alter-ego..Doc. No Brewers fan would have compassion for what McGuire did while a Cardinal. Only Cardinal fans would. Ya just keep proving you're all over the place with an entire stable of identities.
And, likely, took you no little bit of time and effort to roll 'em all out. A for effort. Pretty cool actually. Gives me a new pastime "Where's Doc". Take off on Where's Waldo BTW.

This is true. BTW I strongly recommend everyone here to watch the documentary "Juiced" on Netflix. Not only does it explain how they are doing it but it's hysterical as well.
Isn't it called Screwball? But yeah, great documentary that was for sure and sheds a light on how big the issue really is.
There’s another one called Icarus, focuses more on endurance sports.
