This gm simply is not fun on HOF at least for me,especially when u have to face cabrera 90 % of the time,I've been playing the show forever n this is the first time I'm having so much trouble hitting on HOF,I know some of u say ALL STAR is a slugfest but in my opinion is way more fun, just my 2 cents

My games on AS are not slugfest. I am at best a .200 hitter online but My ERA this year is .0.67 and whip is 0.66. Most of my Games do not go 9 innings.

Not trying to be a dickhead but you really can’t tell someone to “practice” when most if not all of your games have been on allstar. Play some HOF and legend vs Cabrera and the outlier boys/125 h/9 boys and try again

Me playing on All Star does not mean anything really, If you want to get better at something Practice always helps or does it not. it just suggestion. Again it does not matter what level you play on, players have tendencies on how they pitch, when you figure that out, you can sit in that location and time up the pitch. I am not a good hitter but I am a pretty good pitcher on AS where people say it is slugfest. that is not really the case on AS. But hey because I do not play on HOF I have no input to give. OP asking how to hit a sinker. One way to learn how to is Practice. If you think practice does not help someone get better then state that. Legend and HOF are not suppose to be easy to hit is it?

I’m simply saying no reasonable amount of practice will get the average person to hit these guys on a consistent basis. Cabrera’s sinker is so gross on hof+ It’s necessary to sell out to have a chance of putting it in play.

I’ll make a deal with you. “Practice” for as long as you need, we’ll jump in a friendly game on legend and I can ONLY throw sinkers and 4seamers and see if you change your mind

I understand that, You can practice on HOF and Legend against Cabrera and that sinker change the settings all the way up, when you can hit t he speeds with it all the way up, I think that can help. You can even set the location of the pitch in practice. For some it will up for other probably not. For me I do not use practice mode very often. I know it has help other people get better at hitting. My biggest problem is swinging at to many pitches out of the zone. Recently I been doing a better job at that. I will never claim to be good at hitting in this game until I am. With how I can pitch, and the recent addition of some players to my team I am hitting better. It is also about using hitters you can hit with not always the best hitters in the game.

3.is your argument really “it’s not hard to hit because I’m good at pitching”

I think you are misunderstanding, I am not saying you do not know how to hit, My statements are in general. I know you are not gripping about it. The Op is asking and you responded to my comment that is how we are where we are in this convo. I understand people think it is impossible. I understand offline and online are different, but again it has help other people out. No that is not my argument. I never said it was not hard to hit. I would not make a claim like that (It's not hard to hit because I'm good at pitching). If you can figure out the pattern and sit on that pitch look for it in a certain location it helps a lot.

    Not directed at you personnally

    1. I understand it is hard to hit and the higher the level the harder it will be
    2. Practice has help other people get better at hitting not saying it helps everyone
    3. No not my argument, if you can not hit a pitch and you know it is coming than sit in that location and wait on it. do not swing if it is not in that location unless you can adjust. Do not swing if it is out of the zone. You can always take a strike to see if opponent is going to throw that pitch in the zone. use the first at bats to see how your opponent will pitch you. His sinker on AS feels like 98mph on HOF.

They didn’t mean to make him so delivish. That Kluber windup, that sinker speed and his card art are really scary.

Anyone who blames pinpoint pitching as a nerf for hitting is a bad hitter. Prior to MLB 18, when we started getting the magical hanging breaking balls that got worse in 19 and 20, your pitches went where they were supposed to go with meter and analog pitching too. Was hitting harder then? Yes. That's because you can locate pitches and not be force fed bad pitches.

Instead of knowing the game will eventually give me a hanger if I just watch pitches and foul off tough stuff, people have to actually swing and try to hit tough pitches. Hitting should be hard and should not be rewarded by the game saying "this seems like a good time to leave a well released changeup or slider dead center." Dinger!

I'm not a good hitter and my avg is actually a little better online than it was last year. Do sinkers have unrealistic movement up in the zone? Yes. That's not the fault of pinpoint, that's the stupid way the pitch is designed to move in the game. SDS knows and does nothing. It's why they make videos with the Dev team and laugh about and troll the community.

    Well said..

Precursor: I haven’t faced Eddie yet because I’m trying to get flawless before I dive into RS. But I have to disagree here except for really good pitchers.

The worst thing about meter and pure as a hitter last year was sure, sometimes you’d get a meatball, but more than anything you’d get a “kind of meatball” when they tried to hit the corner and instead it puts the ball in a spot impossible to stop your pci at. No matter how insane the pitcher I’ve faced this year - if they’re dotting corners I’ll have way more chance to hit that then a ball that goes between the corner and the Center where you either ground over it or overshoot it and popup.

I’ll gladly eat my words when I’m wrong. I know he’s good and tunnels well with nasty break. But I’m actually happier knowing the control is better rather than worse.
