GH2 might be the best of them all imo. Had a soft spot for the Metallica one but some of the non-metallica songs were underwhelming to play.

GH2 was great but GH3 IMO is the best. It also has the most iconic song in the series (through the fire and flames). Easily the best two games though. If you look at the track list for Guitar hero smash hits like 80% of the songs come from 2 and 3

Obviously preference but I found TTFAF to be a huge chore...even more so than Freebird but maybe it helps that I love Freebird as a song and TTFAF is ok at best for me.

I just found the tracks a bit better in general on GH2 but GH3 definitely has some great ones as well (actually a lot more than I remember looking at the track list now)

Also probably doesn't help that I played GH3 on PS3 which required a stupid dongle adapter for the guitar (since I already had the PS2 ones) which basically made it impossible to do hammer ons/offs and it kinda killed the experience.

I loved that game. I never got the 100% drum solo in The End.

There are some musicians that have always been there, but you might not have appreciated them as much until you listen to everything. I would say mine would be Otis Redding. Everyone knows him for basically just Sittin on the Dock of the Bay, but his whole catalog is amazing. Probably the musician I listen to the most today.

I listen to Sittin on the Dock of the Bay almost everyday.

I agree on Free bird, easily one of my favorite songs ever. I'm just saying that if you asked anyone 10 years ago what made someone good at Guitar Hero, the answer would probably be being able to complete TTFAF on expert. I still Played GH3 on the PS2 then again in college on the Xbox 360 a few years ago so GH3 is much more fresh in my mind anyway. Hell I visited a buddy last weekend and played GH3 lol

I just can’t listen to them anymore; my parents were teenagers when they came out and of course listened to it; heard it growing up and can’t take it anymore. My dad was a big fan of Elvis and Johnny Cash, and I agree with Cash for sure. I’m in the same boat as another poster: I’ll take the Stones before the Beattles, especially the earlier stuff like Paint It Black and this era.

I liked Lenon’s scratchy voice way more than Paul, especially on songs like Revolution. The Stone Temple Pilots’ cover was great (and sadly both performers died too soon).

It’s because they’re the most overrated band in history.

My mother absolutely loved the Beatles. I grew up listening to it. It was a big part of me growing up to where I incorporated the Beatles into my wedding. My wife walked down the aisle to When I’m Sixty-Four. I never saw my mother so happy as she had no idea that we were doing it.

Love the Beatles and many of the other bands some of you have mentioned in this thread. I second this about the good ol' Grateful Dead though. Many great ones out there but nobody beats the Dead.

Perhaps you are not familiar with Hootie and the Blowfish or The Barenaked Ladies...

Anyone else here from the all-night queue in 1993 at the Ticketmaster outlet near Chattanooga, for Pink Floyd tix in Nashville the next year? I was second in line with my university buds and when the doors opened in the morning, the computers went down for 30 minutes. We ended up waaaay at the back of Vanderbilt Stadium. Still a great show.

Saw Floyd division bell at Giants stadium. 8th row center stage. Plane crashed over my head. I think I'm still high from the show. I remember drinking a 6 pack of Bud Ice pregame in the parking lot.
