Collection Speculation

WARNING: Math Involved.
What we KNOW:
There are currently 484 Legend and Flashback cards in the game.
If we project out to mid-September, we should have...
- 27 cards via innings programs (figure 3 more innings with 3 henchman, 3 classics, 3 bosses each)
- 6 cards via player programs (2 each new inning)
- 9 cards via Daily Moments (July, August, September each with 2 Evolution starters per month plus 25 point reward)
- 6 cards via Evolution Programs
- 60 cards via a new Team Affinity Season (5 henchmen & 5 bosses per division)
- 27 cards via POTM (July, August, September w/ 9 cards each)
- 66 cards via Topps Now (11 weeks between here and 9/11)
- 22 cards via Headliners packs (2 per week)
- 8 cards via Ranked Seasons (2 more seasons w/ 2 henchmen and 2 World Series rewards each)
- 4 cards via BR Flawless Rewards (figure 2 more seasons)
- 10 cards via BR Program (2 more seasons each w/ 2 silvers, 2 golds, and a Diamond)
What we THINK...
- 7 more cards via Events (1 tomorrow, plus 3 more events w/ 2 cards each)
- 1 more card via 'Mariano-type' collection
- 24 cards via 4 more specialty packs (Space, Kitchen Sink, Ducks on the Pond, etc)
- 15 cards via All-Timer Teams Program (the Vlad/Ruth program from years past)
That puts us up to around 775 acquirable cards in the mid-September range.
PREDICTION:
I'm gonna go ahead and speculate Mega-Collection #3 will be for Milestone Hank Aaron, and the way to collect him is to collect 755 Legends & Flashbacks.
- It'd be achievable only be the die-hards at first, but would eventually get easier as they continue to release cards in October, November & December.
- Aaron's 99 card is GOING to be the 755 Milestone (you don't debut a card series like that in the same year as Aaron without putting the two together. It's one of the most famous milestones in all of sports, not just baseball. It's happening)
- It'd be a lot more interesting than having to get 20 Signatures, 30 Awards, 20 Primes, etc.
Who's with me?
-
Brilliant. Yeah that sounds awesome if they do it that way. Thanks for putting this list together
-
I agree the final collection will be Aaron.
the milestone could easily be 715 though,or they could even it out and make a 700 club card for him AND Ruth. -
Now do the same math for collection #2 with a theory why
-
Very nice! I like it!!
Can you do my taxes too?

Pretty sure I just read the da vinci code of MLB the show and I'm all for it. This makes the perfect sense like how could you not do this
The showtorian shows again my he is on another level with this game!!!

The first ever mega-collection was for Honus Wagner. Specifically, the T206 that was for the longest time the most expensive baseball card ever.
The 2nd ever mega collection was for Mike Trout, whose 2009 Bowman sold for $4 million last year, setting the new record.
If you go by the "they've got a SUPER expensive baseball card" rule, then the player that makes the most sense would be the 1952 Mickey Mantle. However, that's the same design they used for his Prime card last year so I don't know how amenable they'd be to repeating that design for a collection of this ilk.

We'll get confirmation if this thread is magically deleted by tomorrow morning.

This is why I follow @SaveFarris_PSN
Awesome post.
-
I like math and all but please don't give them any ideas lol.
-
@SaveFarris_PSN Awesome Job!!! Now, can someone explain why when quoting people it’s kicks back an error that it’s “Forbidden”
-
Awesome!!! Great stuff - I would like a collection where every single card is required.
-
New legend, follows black player theme it kind of obvious
-
Did your electricity go out?

After sleeping on it, I've got a theory but I'm not sure how much I like it.
Collection #2 could be ...
Collect X number of Parallel 5s
Collect X number of Parallel 4s, etc... -

Collection #2 could be ...
Collect X number of Parallel 5s
Collect X number of Parallel 4s, etc...I doubt it. I'm not even sure if they could program that type of collection tbh. I'm expecting them to just fully build on the Mo collection by adding new reward tiers. Need 2 Sigs for Mo? Now you need 4 or 6 for Collection #2. The ones you used for Mo already count. Also Mo would be added as an option like Jackie as a freebie.
I like the speculation of the 755....and maybe that's what the total cards add up to, but I still expect it to piggy back off the same legends collection that they have so far.
-
Thanks for the list! You worked hard for that!
-
@HonRonBaseball_PSN Maybe one for all the LS players even the common free agents.
-
Before the Mega Collection is released, I have a strong suspicion there is going to be a "new" Prospects Collections coming in short order AFTER the Kelenic collection at 10. Making the USA Map get choice packs of 5 now seems to indicate that is coming quickly. My guess is, collect 30-35 prospects to get either a higher rated Wander Franco back OR possibly Top Prospect Spencer Torkelson
-
They are probably going to stop doing stuff with Wander for at least a month.
