How does one get by 5XBS in 3 games with Carter?

5 xbh with rookie Carter, quit trying so hard and you’ll get it
Yea it wierd I stopped trying to crush the ball and just used normal swing, got it no problem. I would suggest get at least 2 or more the first game and just reset the series if you dont get that though.

I’d recommend at least 2 in your first game or keep starting over as he’s better against lefties. It wouldn’t be so bad if he wasn’t so slow as you really need to gap it for doubles or get the early HR. Got 3 XBH against Snell and then it was over.

Power swing and pull the ball

I have zero interest in even trying these and all it will do is give me XP to end the inning grind sooner… which takes some of my enjoyment away from DD anyway.

This was the most annoying moment I've encountered so far. Don't remember how many tries it took to get multiples in game one but got super lucky at some point after starting the first game 0-2 I decided to play through and then I hit absolute bombs on three straight pitches to put me at three after game one so at that point it was easy.
-
It is not that hard
-
I'm not going back! I'm always a perfectionist BUT I'm not letting this BS moment cost me $60 for a controller. I got the 91 POG and I'm done... on to Ozzie which with my level 4 Story should be cake!
-
Worst f'in card ever, plays well below his stats, awkward swing and slow. Feel like I'm trying to hit with a common pitcher
-
Skip that moment, do the two offline missions where you get 5 XBH with the silver Carter and the one where you hit 3 HRs with catchers
Either hit carter first, or, stack your lineup with all catchers, hit and quit against the Rockies on rookie that will save you from that god awful moment
5 XBH with that card over 3 games with how moments play? Lol what a terrible decision...and I’m a consistent WS player sitting at 43-5 and I knew I wasn’t going to complete that moment without spending an hour at least...moments need a huge revamp
-
The 5 xbh on rookie moment is a joke. It's even a righty vs. lefty matchup in the first game for crying out loud. What makes it worse is the pitcher is all over the place and when he does throw a strike and you make solid contact it's a pop up or weak grounder. How is a rookie moment so much more difficult then the veteran ones?

What dragon said. You need to get to the third game needing only two XBH. Then I just dashboarded after my last at bat until I got them.
That way you can keep playing the third game until you succeed.
This is awesome!! Never knew this. Thank you!

Gary Carter is the worst. That is all.
-
It’s easier to get 5xbh with his Rookie card, just play against the rockies and pick your #1 started to go against Senzatela or Marquez

Completely agree! This is the worst moment i have ever suffered through. Tried for an hour plus last night only to fail fail fail. Got 4 about three times, then fly outs for days. Tried the 5 xbh in conquest the night before and only got 1

Hardest moment for me in the last couple years. Been working for 2 days now and still can't get it. I can barely get one XBH with him, much less 5. Maddening.

I'm at 45 out of 50 points. I'm preferring not to go online right now, so I have a choice between finishing this moment, or getting 3 HRs with catchers in any game. I'm alternating moment attempts with a vs CPU game, and even though I'm hitting plenty of HRs with the other position players, I've only managed 2 HRs with catchers in my last several games. I actually 'wasted' a HR by Carter himself in a vs CPU game because he didn't count as a catcher even though that was the position he played in that game (card is secondary catcher). Same with the Joe Torre card, I think I got a HR with him too before I realised it didn't count for the mission. The moment itself is terrible, of course. I've made it to the third game needing 1 more XBH a couple of times, but mostly I'm just resetting after bad starts on the first game. This Carter mission is easily the least fun I've had since I started playing The Show last year.
I gamed the system a little. I put a catcher at every position and played a game on rookie...easy way to get 3 HRs

Getting one homerun on giovanny gallegos is the worst thing you can waste your time on. Do not try unless you have 70 hours of free time
-
Power swings....make sure your early....upper half of the zone. I stink, and i got it done eventually. Its a rough one, but there have been much worse.
If you arent getting enough of the ball with power swings, go to the custom practice and put some time in there. Fire the level up to Legend, face DeGrom for 30 minutes....then go back and try again. Your PCI will feel huge.
The key with these mediocre cards....you have to hit the ball early. There is a vast exit velocity difference between early and late....and you have to take advantage of it.
Good Luck.

I kinda did the same. Put the first 6 in the order all (righty) catchers. Played at the Rockies with their 4th starter a LHP (Freeland) and quit out after those 6 hitters. Was done the next start after the 4th hitter.
