It certainly didn’t help it. People that don’t know how to pitch probably like it though.
Dude stop. "People who don't know how to pitch probably like it" lmao. The game forced pitches with good input down the middle in 18, 19 and 20. The guys who liked that were the scrubs who can't hit pitches on the black and have to wait for those cookies down the middle to be somewhat successful. I'm not gonna make assumptions which category your or OP fit, but take a good long look on the mirror and decide for yourself.
So to you the opposite of that was to put it in the exact same spot every time with such a simplistic system? Then when your opponent hits it’s just random output? Okay. I just always base my opinion on the fact that gamers nowadays, and after 8 years in sports games especially sports gamers, win at every cost and want to cheese as much as possible so if something new is added to the game and the majority of people like it then it probably isn’t good for the actual game. If a YouTuber found a way to bunt for a base hit every time 100% right now that is all you would see online until it was patched.
And I’m alright at the game. Would be better if I enjoyed it online. In actual games I’m probably 80% win and would be higher if I cared to enough stick around. I pitch with analog by the way and still think it’s too easy compared to the randomness of hitting. But it is what it is. And that’s the game.
If you can hit pitches in every location, it doesn't matter if your opponent can throw accurate pitch after accurate pitch. However, If you can't hit every pitch in every location, then yes you have something to complain about. Case and point I would assume.
So you telling me sinker up and in is real baseball ? telling me being patient at the plate ... looking for a pitch you can drive , forcing pitchers in fastball counts ...man this isnt even baseball its all about who can put the PCi on the ball at any locations ... why take any pitches then there is no point because anybody can spot a offspeed in a fastball count.... you just a stupid fkin gamer ... not a baseball fan gtfo lol
Sinker up and in has nothing to do with the pinpoint mechanic and everything SDS shoddy programming.
Has everything to do with it as with pinpoint you can just dot up and in broken sinkers
So what? Just crush them. I don't understand why people have so much issues with these sinkers despite it not being realistic.
Because for every player that can consistently hit that pitch there are probably 25 that can’t. Add in that connectivity and frame rate really impacts high velocity inside pitches and quite often those pitches are unhittable.
I want tweaks. Up and in sinkers being the best pitch needs to go. In the dirt curveballs and chamges need to be more effective.
I think pinpoint though is straight cheese to the point of running 4 verticals in madden.
I agree on the sinker. The problem is that it comes out the hand like a breaking pitch instead of fastball. That’s why it gets me so much. I instantly think slide or curve but then it’s a sinker.... would be a helluva pitch if it worked like that in real life lolol. Although I get tons of strikeouts off low curves, so not sure your issue there.
Pinpoint is not a bad concept to me, but I think it is too easy to do. There isn’t big enough of a window for error once you get it down. In other words i think it is a valid option if they cause it to be harder to do. No one should be making every pitch perfect with it. I’m not saying make it impossible or give random results, just make it harder to master.
On that note, if you use meter or analog then your perfect results should also give you perfect accuracy if they leave pinpoint in the current state. Also you should not hang a pitch unless you absolutely fail the meter , analog or pinpoint.
-
Well I guess you just can’t wait for that pitch down the middle like in previous Show games.
You actually have to think now.
Ps... And the scores are pretty realistic now compared to previous years.

Do yourself a favour and just look up his games played then hit block. I rarely block anyone, I think I have 3, if you have 4 games players and 40 posts about gameplay per day you make the cut.
Man Im 40-18 In RS ... i use pinpoint too and its way overpowered.... its not baseball .. nobody in history has that level of command
Greg Maddux would like to say hi

Nope. Just crush one of my dualsense..

The people that say "every pitch is a dot" remind me of the "I hit 50 perfect perfects in a game for outs!!!" People from last year. Maybe top players but most people aren't dotting EVERY pitch. You are just missing the ones that miss there spot and are good to swing at. Trust me, as someone who is bad at hitting people will still hang a few pitches per game just now its actually because of human error instead of randomness.

Nah i would call myself higher tier of average probably

i am totally agree with op and the size of the pci should become a stick to make it look like a real bat

It's ruining the game for you, but improving the game of the pitcher. Just because people are using this new function does not mean the game is ruined for all. Just those that waited for garbage pitches to just drop in the zone.. It's a major improvement if you ask me, and I don't use it.
-
I’m still loving meter pitching after five years of playing.
-
Pinpoint isn’t too bad with how forgiving some hitting inputs can be.
-
I think the point everyone is missing is what’s the point of actually having pitchers with attributes if all that is overwritten with user input. Guys have bronze level players dotting up just because they can pitch using pin point. And people complain that they left a pitch hanging with perfect input, well that’s possible because in baseball arm fatigue plays a real role and sometimes you just miss. The greatest pitchers in the world still throw balls over the plate. I think the biggest issue is pinpoint is okay but it should only increase the chances the ball lands where u want it to based upon the control stats of the pitcher plus the confidence meter plus the pitch count. If user input completely overrides actual attributes than what’s the purpose of attributes?????? Just like NBA 2k if you can green than it doesn’t matter if the shot is bad or highly congested and consistently doing that over the course of the game isn’t real

the stupid wanna be gamer ruined this game with wanting perfect output ... baseball is a game with randomness you can hit the ball with alot of exit velo in real life and get unlucky... pitching you guys cried when good output caught some of the plate.... look what the game has become now .... it isnt even real baseball ... no baseball fan enjoys that every pitch is at the exact location... its the stupid gamers

So u want hitting to be random but pitching to be absolute???? Whatever. Point is not one pitcher in this world can dot up pitches all game long no matter who they are. Pin point pitching is much easier than pin point hitting. I hit sliders on the nail all the time and I get liners and balls right to players. I ask for a low change up, hit the meter perfect snd still the ball hangs. Well that happens sometimes but don’t make it where when I do throw ball into the dirt and the guy swings and fouls off when his bat isn’t even close to the dirt in the ground. If ur gonna make one absolute u gotta make the other. And yes if I have a 90+ overall team I would expect a higher scoring game than if I had 80+ team just because I expect to have better outcomes because better attributes. Guys have terrible pitchers who pitch like Nolan ryan

Im not saying pitches should be meat ball but have some of them miss a little... and have some offspeed pitches have less break sometimes..... Man in real life some can struggle to even find the zone ... Here everybody is Greg Maddux on steroid... draw walks ? thats out of the game almost completely lol... fastball count ? here comes the offspeed on the corner lol
Like i said it all started with people crying that they wanted perfect output which is the complete opposite of baseball... same thing people crying when they hit HR with ball slightly off the PCI....or perfect perfect into Outs
THATS BASEBALL ... some randomness

Pinpoint is great, but does need tweeked to make it more difficult.
-
Pinpoint should require skill. It does not currently. The ranges for good input need to be greatly reduced.
People act like they want skill gap but then want pitching to be as easy as can be. Doesn’t make sense to me.

It's definitely better than last year, I'll give it that. But a lot of pitches on-line still tend to go afloat into the sweet wheel house zone.

I'm still convinced these posts downing Pinpoint because of it's HUGE advantage are just folks with an agenda playing the audience trying to drive us to use Pinpoint.
One huge reason that might be is because it adds a couple layers of complexity that, if you do get slightly out of sorts, can justify you serving up that concrete mixer you didn't intend to. Allows the developer yet another option to easily sway a game via code and rigged animation.
Much more difficult to screw up metered. So, much more difficult for gatekeepers to explain or rationalize why a perfectly metered change-up 6 inches below the zone..ends up in the middle of the zone for a tater.
If I were a developer that had a product that has a tendency to not be very realistic in the controller feedback department...I would also promote a much more convoluted process with a couple more steps that can then be argued is the player's fault not the code when that homer flies out of the park.
Just doing the devil's advocate thing.

This is how hitting works in real life though as there have only been a few pitchers in history that could always dot the black…and Greg Maddux didn’t throw 99.
