Content is meh imo. I despise the super cards we've seen from the last 2 years, LS Trout needs to be a 99 again. Imagine the quality of these players if stats ended at 99 like in 17. There would be far far more choices for end game.
Why would there be far more choices? I'm not arguing against the idea of LS being 99 again, but I fail to see how it would create more choices? Would LS Trout be usable? Sure, but then there wouldn't be a 99 Immortal/Sig/Finest Trout, so at best it's a draw, not "more" choices.

If your argument is that there is not enough endgame lineup diversity in 19, then you're doing it wrong.
If your argument is that Live Series cards should top out at the same rating as literally all-time greats ... that seems to be a losing argument as well.

Try finding a pitching rotation/bullpen at the HoF level that doesn't include Wagner, Jansen, Fingers, Kershaw, Feller, Chapman. Or a lineup that doesn't include Bellinger. Griffey, May's, Thomas, Wagner, ect. Point is every game has had the select 10-15 players who appear on almost every roster you face.
Live series cards were perfectly viable up until 17, and were at least comparable to some of the greats. Trout should always be a 99 OVR, you can't argue that. Live series players need to be viable at least somewhere on a roster. I haven't seen a single LS player, bullpen or otherwise, since June.
-
IMO, I think they should do away with the +99 stats except for very few exceptions. Certain pitchers should be able to throw up to 105, and that might mean giving them higher than 99 velocity. Certain position players are just plain faster and should get slightly over 99 speed. Also, few positional players are/were better than 99 level hitters (contact/power/vision), but none should be in the 125 range and not as many should be over 100 like there is.
I personally prefer having the player's best year card vs the career card (immortal/SS). If you go with this option, then LS players stay viable all year IF, and this is a big if, towards the end of the season they begin weighing their current year abilities over their previous two year abilities. Meaning if Bellinger stays on a tear all year he gets a better bump late in the year because he's playing much better than the previous two years that are holding him back. Other option could be giving them permanent IE boosts based on year averages, but adding that boost to vision as well based on them striking out less than their career avg.
This would make LS cards more viable and eliminate the juiced immortal and SS cards. Truthfully though, the only area where this may improve lineup diversity is pitching (starters and relievers). The best cards are always going to be the best cards and everyone will want to use them. -

I like this post. Lotta people get on here and just bash the gameplay
They bash cause most of them are trash..@mitchhammond24 is humble and quietly one of the best in the game..Seen his name pop up on a tube post by a SonyPartner I think, and dudes face in the thumbnail said it all..Humbleness from him..The same way I live my life , no brag just facts and actions speaking everything for me..This was a good post and respect for letting him know that as well..This is how you do a sports game with content [censored] near to the next one..Some want to complain it plays like a video game, but they come close to nailing the look and feel of baseball.. All that and you dont have to spend a dime to field a sick team..I dont knock those who do or bought stubs..Its their money and life..Besides I've played plenty people who bought their team..I got on around program 4 and seen stacked teams ridiculous and some couldnt play a lick..You still have to execute and play smart..I've been beaten by a team of mostly golds recently. He could play and I'm sure hes up there. I never look at those leaderboards usually.

For the most part, I agree, but I think it's fitting for someone like a Joey Gallo who hit 100 career HR before he hit 100 career singles.

Um Mike trout can’t compete with all time greats?
Guys like Clayton Kershaw, max scherzer, Justin verlander haven’t had hall of fame level careers?
Jacob Degrom and Gerrit Cole aren’t on ridiculous runs right now that could compete with all time greats?
Mike Trout has an OPS of 1.083 this year
Hanley Ramirez has a career high ops of 1.040Signature series Hanley Ramirez has better hitting ratings than live series Mike Trout
As a jays fan I love josh Donaldson, his career high ops is .953, Mike trout this year had an ops of 1.083 Sig series Donaldson has much better hitting ratings than live series trout like much better...
Donaldson is +6 contact vs RHP
+22 contact vs LHP
Trout is +4 power vs RHP
Donaldson is +29 power vs LHPReggie Jackson hit .265 for his career in Oakland, please tell me how he should be +8 contact vs RHP over Trout or +9 contact vs LHP over Trout?
Signature series and immortals exist for one reason and one reason only, to prepare everybody for a move to EA’s card system which is probably coming in 2021 when the show goes multi platform. I would not be surprised if they announced they were not upgrading live series cards anymore next year.
To give you an idea what it looks like in NHL 20;
Alex ovechkin of the Washington capitals has 8 different cards
86 ovr base card
86 ovr team of the year nominee card
88 ovr prime time card
89 ovr heavy hitters card
90 ovr different prime time card
92 ovr different prime time cared
92 ovr team of the week card
92 ovr dynamic duos cardThat’s why signature series cards and immortals exist, to prepare everybody for that and you guys are already using the line that they’re going to use to justify it; “there’s so many different cards to use this year”

But when LS diamonds are usable, they won't get higher flashbacks. And I don't think golds would still be usable at this point in the year. As I said before, it's a draw at best.

Not true at all, scherzer was a diamond in 17 and had a 95 ovr diamond flashback that you got for collecting all the tigers
Live series Donaldson was 92 overall diamond in 17 and had a 99 ovr hardware flashback

In 17 gold Corey Seager, I think he was 85 overall was some people’s end game shortstop. My number 5 starter was gold 86 BO Oliver Perez
-
Yup I had Perez too. I also utilized the gold Steve Cishek in 17 and Rajai Davis FB in 16. I remember Seager, got him as a silver iirc and he just hit everything.

Ok, but I wouldn't say that creates more lineup diversity. If you're using LS Donaldson or Flashback Donaldson, you're still using Donaldson. I think 2019 had the most usable cards and lineup diversity. Both because of the amount of high-rated cards released and how cheap the market has been on them.
Again, I think LS Trout and such should be 99, but I don't think it the statement "There would be far far more choices for end game" is true. -
This is my 7th year. Overall, I thought the content this year was great. A couple end-game cards were released early (Kershaw, Ryan) which got old quickly, but to me that only engaged everyone early. I’m not an online player and don’t have the patience to spend much time on the market, and I don’t buy stubs, but that’s OK. I don’t have Ruth or Chipper or SS Sale, but pretty much everyone else I want, just from grinding.
I felt the content and drops overall this year were very well done. Especially coming off the catastrophe of last year’s ultra-grindy Legends... and those [censored] souvenirs. (shudders)
Lots of modes, tons of players, snd enough reasons for me to keep playing even into January. Compared to some previous efforts, I would say they did quite a good job compared to years past.
-
Overall, I think it was a good game. I probably played less this year than in years past due to the content on the DD side, and I just did not feel like doing a Franchise. Next year, I have vowed to get myself back into Franchise, I just wish there were better options for season length etc.
I could not get into the idea of MtO, so I never touched it. DD was really plagued this year for me without having the career arcs and building stats for players. I never felt like I actually used my team. I am not a fan on conquest, so those grinds were awful for me. Also, moments were not fun as well. I hate the player lock aspect on some of them (pitching), and they felt too much like the solos on Madden Ultimate Team. The reason that I left MUT was the monotonous soloing, like the moments were this year. Cool idea, just felt like stuff other games were already doing.
With that being said, I still think The Show is the best sports game on the market.
