It’s bad enough as is but The fact there was 2 outs makes that 100% the worst play I’ve ever seen in any sport.
Besides turning around to step on the bag, he could just force him to touch home and have it be a force. The runner is out the moment they either touch or go past home. The run wouldnt count anyway as it would be a force at 1st ending the inning.
I have to agree with you. The decision making on this is confounding.

Yes....1B could have touched first and just be done with it. Or kept going to tag Baez (ignoring the runner going home because 2 outs). Or at any point turn around and go back to first.
But literally no one else...2B, RF, no one....decided it might be a good idea to just go and cover 1B...just incase.

It's funny how everyone mocks the pirates defense, but if the exact same play happened in ranked seasons or an event then whoever it happened against would create a whiny post about baserunning cheese and everyone would use it as an excuse to complain about the game.

If you can't see the difference between an actual MLB game with PROFESSIONAL baseball players and a video game being played by some kid or weekend warrior then I don't know what to tell you.

They got a couple good pitchers that would probably be aces (or at least 2nd or 3rd) for good teams. You can already see them getting jaded at their lack of support. I would not want to be a pitcher in Pittsburgh.

That was without a doubt the worst play in sports history. That colts fake punt had that title for a while, but this definitely over takes it.
Craig never even needed to take a step towards Baez all he had to do was turn around and touch 1st. There was no need for him to chase him back down the line at all, but as a Cubs fan I'll take the run lol.

I actually thought today's game was reminiscent of a RS game. Everyone in the whole country, pretty much, said they've never seen this in professional baseball before..but it happened.
The thing about this game...freaky incidents like that happen at least every other game. So, yeah to all you folks that say it can happen once in Jim Deshaies lifetime (google him if you don't know). It absolutely can...ONCE.
The most fanboyish statement to make would be "this proves that MLB the Show is top shelf authentic baseball action". You would probably be best off not comparing that anomaly with The Show. It doesn't really resonate the way you think it might.
