Kingman program coming

Hint of playing in 1970s and 1980s.
Hint that this is an Awards series card.
1979 MVP Dave Kingman MVP Awards series card.
MLB the Show 20: 92 Overall Prime: Contact R/L 76/100, Power R/L 102/117, Vision 70

It also could be 1987 MVP/GG/SS Andre Dawson (or 1988 GG)
In MLB The Show 20, he had an 88 overall 1977 Rookie and a 99 overall FOTF Legend card
But the 92 overall Kingman seems like a better pick! Plus Dawson didn't play much in the 70s.
-
No way Kingman gets a program. He was too 'all or nothing.' I saw him play, er hit growing up.
'Sky King' is a bit of a Met legend, but a program. No way. -

Dunno if it's true or not but I heard Dawson is no longer in the game.
-
Fergie Jenkins is my pick for this one
-
These cards are all boring. There’s soooooo much more they could do with flashback cards for current players in the game!! But no, it’s the same ole dumb stuff!
-
Wasn’t kingman removed this year?
-
Sutter. Neither Kingman or Dawson are lin the game this year and Fergie Jenkins also played in the 60s

You have to win an MVP to get an MVP/awards card... Kingman never won anything...

I've been reading through this thread trying to remember the year Kingman won MVP and wondering that in the world happened in '79 when I was one year old. If Kingman had won an MVP baseball was beyond crazy.

Keith Hernandez and Willie Stargell tied for NL MVP in 1979... Baylor in AL..
Kingman never finished in the top 10 in voting in his career.. -
Given their clues it can only be 2 guys Jenkins or Sutter. Both played for the cubs in the 70s and 80s and won awards. Dawson was not on cubs in 70s and Kingman was 11th in MVP voting in all all star year, closest he ever came.
-
Sounds like it's not Kingman based on the noted clues but his DOTP card was a great bench bat for me early last year!
-
Of the three major awards, the only one's who'd fit the description are:
Jenkins - Also played in the 60's.
Dawson - Won MVP with Cubs in 87, but others have noted he's no longer in the game, and also played in the 90's
Sutcliffe - Won Cy Young with Cubs in 84, but also played in the 90's
Sutter - I find it weird they'd do Sutter since they already have a closer in the 2nd Inning Bosses ... but with that, he's the only one that fits having "played in the 70's and 80's". Has to be Sutter. -

Has to be Sutter.Yeah, I'm going with Sutter as well. Sandberg never played in the 70's and Ernie Banks didn't play in the 80's.

Has to be Sutter.Could be Sutter but your logic is flawed. The post never says the player ONLY played in the 70s and 80s. So Fergie being around in the 60s doesn't eliminate him. My guess was a Fergie Allstar card.

I wouldn't say it's flawed, I was taking it how it was worded. If it was Fergie, why not say he played in the 60's, 70's and 80's. Seems pretty specific to just call out 70's and 80's especially when there is a player that fits that exact description.
With that said, as I noted, I do find it weird if it is Sutter considering they have Smith as a Boss and that's two closers pretty close together. I'd definitely prefer it to be Fergie.

They are extremely specific when they give out clues like this. It's definitely Sutter
