I don't understand why anybody would leave their console running and wait 8+ hours for a single win. You could have won so many games in that amount of time. Me personally... I just play for fun, but it's comical to me how much a single win means to some of you guys.... geez it's a videogame win... who cares??
ranked seasons ws runs all can change with a loss. never quit in the freeze off if your winning

I'd explain the mechanics of why there's a freeze off, but it's not going to make you feel better.
Nothing is going to happen until either side quits, servers get restarted or go down, or ""MAYBE" when the season resets. They usually end the season a hour or more before the next season starts. This flushes the rankings etc.
Personally, I would have moved on this morning. My hardware is worth more than the W.
I get the frustration and principle behind it though.

Ok so when a freeze off happens I should just quit every time right? If I’m losing sure, but I’m dominating the person and they were rude towards me. I went to sleep, it was 2:30 AM. Now it’s the morning and the sad person hasn’t accepted their loss and messaged me instead.
Nobody is saying quit right away but if its clear that neither side is goin to quit, you're both equally as sad. Should he quit bc you're winning? Maybe. But you don't know the final outcome. He could have came back just as easily as you could have held him off for the win. Unless its a game for WS or really close just quit. And you coming online about it and reporting him is just as sad. And funny thing is, you're the only one that's going to have the chance to face disciplinary actions bc you posted his gamertag. So basically, he has done nothing wrong other than being affected by the same freeze off issue as you. And refuses to quit... Just like you... But you have decided to come put his gamertag online and then accuse him of forcing the freeze offs. Whos the sad one again? Its a video game dude. Quit out and play the next one. You're no better than him
Well it is about 2 games from WS probably, maybe 3 so that’s why I’m a bit more tough to hold.
To each their own. I give it 4 or 5 hours when I'm that close

Plus I still don't see how you can sit there for hours waiting for a win. Yes, you may be up; but you'll lose more than a loss and a few ranking points by sitting there for hours.
Quit the game. Report the player. Block the player. Play a few more games and move on.

Yes and no that they are random. There's certain ways to deliberately cause a freeze off.
Two of them have been mentioned in the board before and a few others know how to do them but haven't posted how because they don't want people exploiting it. (nit saying those who know do it; but they know how it's done)

The reason I say this is for 2 reasons: can’t find how anywhere in any forums or Twitter feed, and if it was easily feasible, wouldn’t we see them more often? I don’t think I’ve ever been in one.

I’m winning 6-0, 7th inning, game frozen. He’s got 3 hits, 2 of which are bunt hits. He messaged me and said I play like a b***h because I squeezed in a run with my pitcher up to bat, keep in mind he has 3 hits and 2 of them are bunts. He said he won’t quit until MLB 22 comes out and that he does freezes offs all the time. Seems like he gets in to them intentionally to be honest. People like this make the game unbearable, I don’t want to have to wait 2 days for a win because somebody can’t take an L with grace.
I feel you, man. I wouldn’t want to take a loss like that either. If I were in your shoes, I’d probably leave my PS4 on and use it as an opportunity to go do other activities. When I definitely would want to play again, then that would be my time to give up on it. I wish you luck.

Its just a mano el mano thing about who quits. but its a video game, just close app and play the next game, you'll soon forget about it. you dont get rewards for not losing a game.
You live a pretty mundane life if you openly quit even if you’re winning, you’d accept my friendly quit in the bottom of the ninth when you’re up 9-0 right?
Its nice to win, im not saying you're wrong, you deserve the win. until SDS put in some sort of fix for it there is nothing you can do.
but its a video game mate, move on and take the L. you know you're right, but dont you want to play another game instead of just waiting?
Yeah I get what you’re saying sorry if I came off as rude. It’s just the principle of it all, I guess in my head people are better than they truly are. I’ve got stuff to do right now anyways but when I’m done if he’s still waiting I guess I’ll just toss him the win and hope SDS take the report seriously.
Online play is a toxic community, I go into every game assuming the other person is an @$$4013, and usually they are.

If I got into one of these freeze-offs and still intended to play more games I would quit pretty much immediately regardless of the score. One win, regardless of the situation, is not really worth ruining the rest of the day for me. If it was my last game of the night then sure I might leave my system running. Otherwise it's just a minor inconvenience and waste of the time spent on the game to that point. Not the end of the world.

PSA, you will all get a W if we get into a freeze off, whatever the score. I understand where you're coming from but I'd rather play 5 games than look at my console frying. It's more fun and I don't have much time to waste. To each is own...
