How To Watch Ball In RTTS???
-
Just an update, I confirmed that R1 no longer functions for switching the camera and we will be adjusting the controls screen accordingly. L2 to view the ball is functioning as intended, and the right stick now allows you to freely rotate the camera. You can also click in R3 to reset the camera.
Sorry for the confusion . -

Sorry for the confusion .Can we please get an option to invert this camera? Inverting Showtime throwing would be great too.

Sorry for the confusion .Does this mean you're adding the R1 function, or removing the tool tip in the controls menu?
This function was amazing as it kept the perspective of your player, on the field from their perspective.
Now, it's disjointed and confusing when the camera is from the upper deck "broadcast view" -
Removing the incorrect text from the controls screen. Try clicking in R3 while running, resetting the camera will often focus back on the ball.

Adam I see that you are replying on this thread. Would you happen to have any information on how to cover the bag specifically the 2nd base bag as a Player Lock or RTTS player? Specifically when a ball is hit to the outfield and the "CPU" second basemen runs out to cover the cut off throw.
You can move your player near the bag but the base gets over ran and the runner rounding first is allowed to slide in. Would be nice to receive the throw from the outfielder and have the tag put into place.
Thanks!

Please reconsider this - this is NOT a good solution. To start, R3 is way too fiddly to use and often moves the camera around when trying to press it. Also, the old R1 button mapping kept the focus on the ball only as long as you held the button, which was important to quickly go back to watching the base path. R3 does NOT do this but is set up as "switch on/switch off". Again, in addition it moves the views around so this much worse than it was before (without any apparent reason).
Pretty sure I'm not the only one with this issue!

Sorry for the confusion .Oh, just an addition: L2 is also not a good replacement - RTTS is all about putting us into the shoes of the player and now we, as the player, are supposed to switch to a TV camera perspective to watch the game? That doesn't make much sense and is very much breaking the immersion that we are trying to maintain in RTTS

This needs to be fixed. I cannot believe anyone would think disabling this feature is a good idea. It is impossible to tell exactly where you are on the base path and make a decision about taking the extra base or pulling up.

R1 was last year, and according to the controls, it should still be now.
It's not working.
L2 works for broadcast, but changes the angle which throws me off.I've also noticed that sliding seems broken. The right stick doesn't seem to affect the type of slide at all.
You're right on sliding... I posted a thread on that earlier.

1000% agree with this. It has never been more frustrating running the base paths and having to hit a combination of different buttons and rotations just to see what is happening

Agreed. Games are suppose to improve. I don't remember this being an issue last year but baserunning in general has been a nightmare for me. I only run the bases if I'm going to steal, so I have it set to only Lead Runner situations. However, running the bases on your own hit doesn't seem frustrating to me, just everything else. I've been hoping they'd fix RTTS baserunning for YEARS! Hopefully they look at the forums.

Completely agree.
This is a terrible decision.
L2 "broadcast mode" is usable, but really awkward and just takes me out of the action.Fix this and the infield shift issues, and I'd be happy as a pig in [censored].

Back several years the player would automatically watch the ball briefly ( kind of like it does for a fly ball tag up). Now for button running it says pre-pitch hold the left stick Left to watch ball and right to watch coach, neither works well
L2 does work but it is not good, I wish they would just look at the ball and let the player decide if he should run or not. Hmmm... is that not what a player does?
