I find it comical how everyone comes in here yelling saying “don’t make it political” and those yelling are the ones bringing up politicians. I just want SDS to stand for values they put on the table. They’re pro BLM and aren’t shy about it. They’re pro LGTBQ+ and aren’t shy about it (again, you can add ally flags to custom stadiums), but they still put out extra cards of abusers just because they’re good at baseball. It’s that simple. I’m not trying to cancel anything. I’m just trying to seek consistency here. Were they apolitical, I wouldn’t have started this thread. But quite simply, stand up for all or stand up for none. Ask the dev team to give us a card exchange and lock the topic @Collin_SDS_PSN because the loud ones have consumed this thread and pulled it well beyond the boundaries of the discussion.
The problem with consistency is that these issues are complicated. Once you weigh into the waters of moral and political issues it becomes messy... One big reason guys like Michael Jordan and TW stayed out of it.
You mention BLM for example, I'm sure SDS, you, most people believe in the slogan, the idea.. but the reality and background of the founders, who just happen to be padding their pockets with sucker corpo cash is much different... https://nypost.com/2020/07/01/the-agenda-of-black-lives-matter-is-far-different-from-the-slogan/
Right now the popular thing to do, both for individuals and business seemingly is to signal to everyone how morally just you are... Some of us have been around long enough to recognize it's all an act, and people are getting their strings pulled dancing around like puppets.

Everything you said there sounded great and quite accurate and then you posted an article from NYPost, which is literally a vitriol bottling facility lol.
I agree - it is messy!
It's up to people to do their own research!
I'm just tired of seeing abusers being treated with a modicum of respect because they're really good at baseball, but SDS can make the time to stand up for these other things (which are all good platforms, in their own way).
If anything, the stand SDS should be making is no abusers. Then the other things shortly behind it.
Why do we need three Chapman cards a year? Hopefully, going forward, we don't with Garrett Crochet and other flamethrowers around. But they started this year off with a rookie card.
In short - they shouldn't have jobs anymore. In the case of Alomar, he truly DOESN'T have a job anymore. So therefore, he shouldn't be in the game anymore. They paid rights to him, and they should be getting their money back on that.
Let's hold our heroes to a higher standard.

Keep the card in game until the courts find him guilty. MLB is probably trying to be proactive and cutting ties with him regardless what a court would find. I remember when Kobe Bryant was accused of rape...glad NBA didn't jump the gun and axe him from the league before trial.
The notion that people shouldn’t be held responsible for wrong doings unless convicted is not the best take.
Every situation is unique. Ray Rice knocked out his girlfriend on camera, no conviction. Joe Mixon threw one of the most vicious punches on a girl, no conviction. Kareem Hunt kicked a woman...it was stupid but didn’t appear too violent....no conviction.
Kobe wasn’t convicted but didn’t be settle it out of court?
Even some people get convicted (Vick) and still are welcomed back. He ran a dog torture operation and was part of the torture and admitted it. He returned to NFL and is a host.
My point is: it’s not a one size fits all situation. Kobe and Vick were so popular their demons were forgiven. Tiger Woods gets a pass for all of his sins. People don’t even talk about Deshaun Watson much on the main stream.
Justin Gimelstob was on the tennis board of governors for months after viciously assaulting a man in public and then pleading 'no contest' (California guilty) -- and the tennis establishment was so disconnected that most weren't even aware that a no contest plea is technically an admission of guilt. He was finally booted out but it was a pretty good example that even convictions and admissions of guilt won't always be enough to get a scumbag out of a top sports position. At least not immediately. In Gimelstob's case there was a sustained effort to get tennis colleagues to recognise the severity of what he'd done.

Sounds a bit like guilty until proven innocent. His off field behavior prior to retirement shouldn’t effect his accomplishments on the field. One is not related to the other. If you don’t like the guy don’t use him no need to ruin it for the rest of us.
id recommend reading about the situation before commenting.

The point is it literally already is. A month they focused on BLM last summer. So they need to go all the way or not at all.

Its not about the game being woke its SDS standing with MLB's decision to ban him based off the information they have. Why does a card that will be out of every ones lineups in a month cause so much uproar for people.

Kids getting butthurt by cards now? Wow, such a soft world we live in now.
Comment retracted...I realized I don't want to get involved with any of this SJW nonsense in the world. I come here to play video games and get away from all that garbage.

Stop with the cancel culture BS, He hasn’t been found guilty in a court of law so just relax already. It’s just a card in a game If you’re that concerned don’t use the card.
It's not "cancel culture", it's "consequence culture". Major difference. People are being held accountable for their actions like any sane society.

If guilty, Alomar is a scumbag. But he hasn't been found guilty yet. And you cancel culture folks are just as scummy.

Aroldis chapman and osuna have both been found guilty of worse than alomar is even being accused of but yet they are in the game...
