It is a fact and thus why someone (* other than me) started this thread.The 2 hitting options of discussion are no way a comparison in any shape or form thus they need to be in two seperated categories or at least with a toggle option to isolate the different skill sets so the game is more enjoyable for the players who desire such.

Secondly, you have not made a comment yet about directional hitting that has not been belittling or demeaning to those who use it. You are building yourself up by tearing others down. Decidedly not humble.
By the way, there are folks over at the Operation Sports forums who will insinuate you are a child and not a true fan because you play DD and not Franchise.
It is all a matter of perspective and of course and neither you or they are right.
Thats cuz they took online franchise out...used to be able to play in zone only leagues. But this game caters to $$

I want to learn all these tricks to hitting home runs off the plate using directional. If my timing isn't perfect I just pop it up or flat out miss. Hell on higher difficulties I'll flat out miss pitches in the zone if I'm even slightly early or late.
The skill floor is higher using directional, but the ceiling is so much higher using zone. With zone I feel like I make so much more contact just reacting and swinging. When RNG is failing me on directional I switch to zone and it's easier to create big offense.

Zone hitting is the most unrealistic style of hitting in the game...yes it takes skill, I don't disagree, but zone hitters can reach balls that no directional hitter can reach, and no human being in real life could reach for tha matter...the down and in off the shoe laces hit...the 2 feet outside hit...the up and in almost hitting you in the head hit, a lot of those for homeruns....ya zone is realistic my [censored]...skill yes, realistic hell no.

I get people wanting realism if playing franchise or RTTS but online no. No sports game has realism when playing H2H. I play zone + analog stride because it helps my timing and discipline and less dependant on RNG than directional. Hate missing beach balls and hanging curves because I can’t hit where the ball’s at.

I wasn't saying that at all...I was just proving a point to the op whose saying directional is trash and unrealistic...I respect everyone's choice on how they play whether it be zone or directional. But to call something trash and unrealistic because you lost to it is rediculous and childish. I'm just defending peoples right to choose their play style.
With that said, I must give you props for combining zone and analog that's some cool [censored]

I've played them for years and years.Yeah bro that has to be wrong. When I started playing DD just two years ago I had used directional nearly the entire year starting out and I made World Series each month. If I was making World Series there is no way only a select few were lol. With that being said I believe the people who complain about it as if it is cheating are clearly incorrect. The top players in this game use zone for a reason and that starts with the fact that it is clearly a huge advantage in comparison to anything else and I really shouldn’t need to explain why the obviously is.

The pci has a barrier...it can only go so far in a circle. You clearly have no clue what youre talking about.. if youre having balls hit way off plate or in dirt...thats directional.

I switched to directional last year. Haven't looked back. Was on Zone since MLB the show came out.
I use to be a Zone snob too. But no more. I like directional and the entire RNG arugment - well Zone this year is the most RNG from what I have seen from some of the top theshow gamers.

Im a directional guy now as I posted just above , but when it comes to realism, at the core, I think zone is realistic based on the simple argument :
Zone - you swing your ball at where the ball is pitched, like in real life.
Directional - you influence the ball with timing. So in real life, if I swing low at a ball high I will swing and miss. But in directional you influence it to be a grounder.
Again - this goes back to my Zone Snob days. But I'm a totally in on Directional now. Much more enjoyable for me as I age.

I agree. Some years, zone is way better and more fun. Some years it is directional. So far, I think zone sucks this year. Offline only. I would never use directional online personally because anything up is basically an automatic out.

The devs said last year not doin anything will have cpu aim for you and basically just timing.I didnt say take it out of the game..i want it out for competitive online play....that rewards them w extra xp and such.
All diamonds w 99+ contact or power...requires zero skill.
With zone the pci gets smaller and gotta be even more accurate.

The guys (& gals) who long pause and swap to tee ball hitting simply in essence because the opponent pitches good and they can't hit...OR when being behind they then get a man on base....you guessed it they pause and go to toddler tee ball and suddenly hit the game winning lick after striking out 15 times prior.
It's ridiculous to say the least and there also needs to be " a settings lock" to prevent these settings manipulative changes ,* except for " camera views".
I use mound visits every single time on defense and on offense " quick menu " at the plate ONLY as a way not for just for authenticity But foremost to show respect to the other player that I Am NOT one of the dime a dozen multitudes of "them" who will do anything to win games against faceless people who to top it off will give you NO prize !!

Using PCI gives you a huge advantage over directional. Those should be the easy wins for anyone using the PCI.

Other way dude, with PCI you can reach any pitch, the barrier is way to wide and has been a complaint for years; people can foul off pitches or hit HRs on pitches they shouldn’t be able to reach.
