How is this still a thing?

Can anyone honestly believe this is still happening ? How could SDS no stress test the servers before launch? What exactly did they think was going to happen here with cross platform play ?
It's the most ridiculous thing I've encountered over years and years of gaming.
And the most frustrating thing I think is the lack of communication. Sure we get the standard "We are aware of issues yadda yadda yadda" response. But we are going on 9 days ( I had early access) And we have no status update or any sort of work around. ( At least that I am aware of)
All I know that if something like this were to happen on this sort of scale where I work..... Well there would probably be somebody held accountable.

It's just flat out funny at this point. Day 10 and they aren't any better. I'm baffled at the idea that SDS thought it was a GOOD IDEA to not only launch on a brand new console to a brand new fan base. But to do cross play with multiple gens. Maybe I'm wrong. But does anyone actually care about playing cross play? That should have been a MLB the Show 22 feature. You know once they got the xbox servers up and running smooth.
I've still got a lot of play time in. RTTS works for the most part thankfully. Just sucks half your reward progress isn't being saved.

I'm supposing that there's an understanding on SDS's part that there will be some initial pain at release because of overworked servers.
The cost of upgrading the servers to meet initial demand until casual players get bored and move on isn't more cost effective than issuing a few thousand refunds, unfortunately. Plus, If things get too heated, they can always toss people a digital bone to compensate and it costs them nothing.

I wouldn't classify this as initial pain really.... It's just flat out broken. In years past there's maybe a day or two of some quirky issues but nothing like this has ever happened.

So glad that I preordered the game only to never be able to play it when I want to. Sort out a patch that doesn't require to be always connected for single player stuff or fix the servers please. Or perhaps short term just communicate the plans to resolve the issue beyond hoping less people play now that you've got your money.

I tried to play event today, two games, two disconnections in 2nd inning... This is [censored] up, totally unplayable game. From Friday I'm not able to play Showdowns, now no event for me, 9 innings in play vs cpu are also unreal...

I'm getting to the end of my patience here really.
Played 4 games last night. All 4 conquests. All 4 games I played were steal fan games, and the game actually recorded the fans I won, just not the games themselves nor the stats from those games, including XP progression. I played the first on Rookie (I had not realized I picked rookie) and the 3 following were on All-Star.
Now I get that the game properly credited me for the fans I stole, but no stats recorded is just frustrating. I'm trying to complete programs and such, trying to ADVANCE in the game, and the game will just not record the basic information from those games. They do not even show up in my Game Logs. The last game that shows up is my game on Rookie and the following three are no where to be found.
On top of that, the constant "An unhandled server exception has occured" is quickly removing my desire to play this game. I play this game, any game really, to relax and unwind, to forget about my [censored] life and have a few moments of fun in my days. This ain't helping, i can assure you.
Can SDS please give us a proper update on what is happening instead of guys like @hoboadam_PSN giving us what are the most likely reasons the game is performing so badly? It's a sad state of affairs when a community member gives us more information than the damned devs do.
This entire Double XP weekend was a bust for me insofar as I was unable to actually profit from it and enjoy my playtime.
Come on SDS, get your [censored] together in the same sock and let us know what is happening and what the problems are and how you plan on fixing and compensating us. That early access hasn't really translated into anything more than 4 extra days of frustrations, at least for me.

So I tried another event game, of course I was disconnected, now in the 1st inning... I'm very close to deleting this [censored]

I played a lot yesterday and had only one disconnect. It seemed much better. All DD, mostly Conquest and some Moments, no online.

I get about 2 hours per night to play and usually spend 5mins reconnecting after each Moment or game. Definitely not ideal.

You do know that it wasn't SDS that wanted to add XBox players; it was the MLB

ANOTHER occurance.
Played 2 games during lunch. 1st conquest recorded fine.
2nd conquest game NOT so fine. Completed Gallo mission 3x HR, Giambi mission 10 hits and 1B mission 3 x HR. Get out of the mission. I got XP and stubs, at least according to the screen, I got Tier advancements according to the screen, I got my fans I stole but the PROGRESS SAYS NO MISSION PROGRESS. WHAT. THE. LIVING. BLEEP!
4th occurance for me in less than 24 hours. Like the 3 other times, the game is NOT recorded in my games played, but the 1st one is.
Am I missing something here?
