@BIGHOOV2713 said in Proposed Improvements for MLB 2020:

I would like the return of:
    A) The Ticket Counter (and of course, Tickets)-I also think one could use tickets to buy bundles of packs (or packs in packs or rookie packs or flashback packs etc)
    B) My Career (I think when we accumulated stats as we played to earn rewards-like 100 3Bs and you got stubs and packs or diamond cards etc)
    C) Rookie to Prime stat grinds etc (Rookie to AS to IV and Prime) from 16
    D) Keep the Inning Program structure but also add in the Programs like the “Positional/Career Arcs” (no immortals please) for silver/gold/diamond cards from 18 for those that just want to grind for cards (like moments in a way-but you get cards for completing each one) I’m good with SS cards, but would like a lot more (doesn’t have to be high end but players like Will Clark, Joe Carter, Mark Prior, Joe Torre, Fred McGriff amongst others that were diamonds but didn’t seem to make the cut).

Still curious as to what #1 and #3 refer to.

As we played in years past, we would accumulate 3 things- 1) XP 2) Stubs 3) Tickets
The tickets could be used in something called the “Ticket Counter” sort of like the Marketplace, but there was a fixed price for certain cards (last year was Immortal Berra, along with rotating sets of cards that changed every 24 hours like diamond Archer, diamond Pollock etc). I also believe the cards were exclusive to the Ticket Counter, so the only way to get iBerra in ‘18 and 99 Beltran in ‘17 etc was to earn tickets and purchase them using the tickets in the Ticket Counter.

    C) was something that “ended” in ‘16 was rookie to prime. You could pull from packs (or maybe purchase on the marketplace?) and once pulled, a stat grind would show up to earn your way to the next level card of the same player (Breakout or AS or IV) then you had another stat grind for the next and so on until you reach the “Prime” card (most remember the 99 ARod and I think Boggs and Trout had something similar?

    Hope this helps.

I’m not sure. I do know that they made a big deal about going to one type of “currency” and they chose stubs (which of course ended the “ticket counter”). The ticket counter in ‘17 was so good and ‘18 was pretty underwhelming and many complained about saving tickets all year for a 99 Beltran type and when 99 iBerra was “the best” at 12k tickets it essentially died. Considering we already had iPiazza and diamond Bench (who had better stats than iBerra I think), it was a bit of a letdown.

Players actually started purchasing diamonds from the ticket counter and then quickselling them for the stubs. SDS probably saw this as the end of the ticket counter TBH.

Allow us to assign another pitcher to warm up when we send a receiver in from the BP. I hate having to immediately pause again to keep the bullpen arms ready.

Custom stadiums online would be an absolute disaster, no thanks

Hall of fame pitch speeds everything above 400 In DD, 900+ goes to legend

As much fun as it would be to have a moat in my OF, I was referring more to what they did in MVP Baseball lol.

That game gave you several (if I recall correctly) templates that you could upgrade with increasing team revenue (concessions, entertainment features, additional seating tiers, etc.).

Remember when Enron Field opened and there was a flag pole in fair territory out in CF? How did Astros and visiting players not get injured with this thing?

I know. Who thought that was a good idea? I still recall Lance Berkman stumbling as he ran up the hill to make the play.

    Funny stuff.

IIRC MLB 16 had the Captains which you had to level up to be able to purchase guys from that specific selection. Wasn't a huge fan of that. MLB 17 had a fantastic ticket counter, with Beltran as the main price as you mentioned. MLB 18's ticket counter was indeed a let-down as people expected to get something comparable to Beltran and had patiently saved up all their tickets...

Tal's Hill was a another winner, and Monument Park in Yankee Stadium used to be in fair territory lol.

Asking players to save up for unknown rewards will inevitably backfire.

I think that the the game should add the following improvements for higher skill levels.
    #1 Unexposed base running interface.
    #2 Psychic User swings.
#3 The wall climb assist can be less overpowering.
#4 Key facial pivoting on pick offs.
    #5 User metric interface shifts.

    1. Classic Stadiums Update. Add in more classic stadiums than the ones we have gotten in past versions of the game. Would like to see classic stadiums like Cleveland Municipal Stadium , Atlanta Fulton County Stadium , Old Yankee Stadium 1923-1974 prior to the 1975 renovations , Olympic Stadium and The Astrodome etc.

    2. Add in newer sound effects in the game change things up a bit

    3. Add more classic uniforms to the game like the powder blue Atlanta Braves road jersey's from the 80s and the 1994-2001 Cleveland Indians home and road jersey's.

    4. Improve Hitting home runs a bit in The Show 19 it was harder to hit home runs.

    5. Make a classic stadiums DLC.

On #4, it really feels like they mess with batted ball events: I once hit a liner of DJLM's head, and the ball was redirected downwards into his glove.

Clearly, the the trajectory was manipulated.
