They will do like they always do and watch the metrics. If strikeouts are too high for the average player, they will change stuff. People need to keep in mind that SDs is a business and will do what is necessary to keep the majority of their customers happy.
If you really want a purely skill based competition, go play actual baseball. this is a video game and a consumer product first, a competitive game second.

Sure, they could tailor the game to fit the 5-10% of players that think this game is more important than their wife sitting in the other room watching her life slowly slip away, questioning her life decisions.
But, those of us with money, focus on other things. Thus, the game will tailor to the majority.

Really? Covid didn't have you locked up for a year?
1700!!!!!!! I'm not even close to that. I was locked up for just over 500. do some math. 1700÷365= 4.6 games per day. 45 minutes a game roughly
. that's almost 3.5 hours per day on the game. if you take a day off that's 7 hours the next day. I dont care what disease is floating around 1700 is for basement dwellers. -

No one irl does that, and if they did the ump would side with the pitchers more times than not bc the batter is obviously getting fooled enough to check swing so often. Besides they aren’t getting rid of it as much as they are making it harder to do consistently

The checkswing bandits want to extend at bats exploiting a broken mechanic. It’s very frustrating striking people out 3 times per AB in 0-2 counts just to fall into a 3-2 and then have to throw a meatball or walk the person with the 4th checkswing of the AB

Exactly. I rage quit due to this exact thing last night. Walked a dude check swinging , next batter same thing but I hang one and yahtzeee! But i raged so it didn’t count for him lol

When have you ever seen a team check swing 30 times in a game and have roughly 25 of those go in their favor?

chances of you going around on a contact swing are almost non existent

It wasn’t balanced correctly. Check swings are still in the game and work now. What 20 had was giving players the ability to get a ball called no matter what allowing them to “cheat” on a fastball every at bat and never have to have the ability to recognize off speed.
The check swing in 20 was not pro user input whatsoever. It was based on a discipline rating and was completely broken. They removed the discipline rating in order to MAKE IT based on user input. So now when you check swing... you did it.

I notice in MLB The Show 20, that when I am out in front on off-speed pitches in the strike zone, I end up check swinging but with a called strike (obviously). This seems a symptom of the problem. I still think the players 'discipline' rating should play a role in ability to check swing successfully or else what value does that parameter contribute?

I saw that show at Rich Stadium in Buffalo. Van Halen (Sammy - boo!), Metallica, Scorpions I think? We were on the field 20 rows back, had a blast. The day before the show I was accosted by a car full of locals for having long hair. Somehow I talked my way out of getting beaten up or shot. Next trip to USA was to Detroit, somehow we didn't get beaten up or shot for having long hair...

Realism is impossible, I was using that as an example since it doesn't showcase user input nor realism. Its an exploit through and through and unintended design from the discipline attribute. All check swings should be 50/50, not 90/10.

T he Old Mile High Stadium in Denver!! Metallica, Van Halen,Scorps, kingdom Come, and Dokken! I think it was a 14 hour concert maybe 15? No occifer, I was not blitzed out of my mind that day!!!
