This year in pitching

I agree. I've found pitch command to be pretty poor and erratic this year, no matter the input and no matter how you're inputting that input.
-
Pitching has been so hard this year. I don’t get how i can have a perfect input ball in the dirt magically hang or a ball on the edge be a foot outside. Even if I want to waste a pitch, balls a foot out of the zone are still hit over the wall. I hope pitching is improved next year, I’m tired of playing double digit score games, I’m not a good enough hitter to keep up.

Yeah. I feel there may be fluctuating sliders or something based on situations. I know that sounds like a conspiracy theory, but it bewilders me how often I have a multiple run lead late and yet cannot avoid bringing the tying run to the plate.
Maybe that is just “rally monkey” type perks or clutch attributes at play, but if I am ahead by three runs and can’t avoid three ball counts even when trying to be aggressive in the zone, it is telling.

So at the beginning of this year, MLB the show 20, I was getting thoroughly beaten in RS using pulse pitching. I’d used it for years, and had only just started learning pure analog in 19.
I found control to be near non-existent and, while pulse has always been a bit more random, I’d gotten used to compensating by aiming a little farther away from the plate than my desired spot. This seemed to work ok in previous years.
This year, I found I could not really hit my spots with any consistency at all and made a commitment to analog full time. It was rough for a while but I eventually found I could locate my pitches better, and could throw the occasional dot.
Now, after a full game cycle of analog pitching, I find I can still walk batters even when I am trying to throw strikes in the zone. I can’t believe how difficult it sometimes is to throw strikes!
Lately, out of frustration, or sometimes when facing a speed cheeser, I’ve been switching back to pulse. Strangely, it almost seems like pulse is more consistent now.
Pitching in this game is so much fun when it works, but this year has been a nightmare. I have 26 wild pitches and 123 walks in 484 IP.
How many of you are having similar experiences?
I've used um all, most say analog is the way to go but I have way better success with meter. To each their own. Also top 100 players this game have a era above 5 so don't give up.

I enjoy pitching more than hitting, I get a lot more out of dotting a slider for a backwards K than I do hitting a 400 foot bomb. I still like the mental exercise of pitching, setting batters up and exploiting weaknesses that I pick up, but it’s annoying when the game doesn’t allow you to execute despite good input. I always know what I’m throwing and why, so it’s frustrating and makes the strategy aspect pointless if every pitch in every location can be hit out, foul tipped despite bad timing, or they randomly just go down the middle. Ruins the game for me.

If pitching were a person, you'd find them hanging.

It’s all tough but pulse is great especially with I believe it’s called classic on setting? Could be wrong but it’s the one with arrows.

Pitching as well as the entirety of overall game play ,works exactly as designed and intended upon release.
Just let that sink in..... -

Just let that sink in.....Yeah, that right there is the most disturbing truth.

It's definitely worse online.

I thought in The Show 20 losing accuracy of pitches and hitting batters was all to common. I hope in The Show 21 that the pitcher has more total control of where the pitches are thrown. I can't wait to find out.

Yeah its prolly worse online, basically if you want consistent realistic pitching you play offline (real men) cause online (noob fest), you will have lag and erratic gameplay.
