Frank Robinson is the most underrated player of all time
-
More HR's than Harmon Killebrew, Mike Schmidt, Micke Mantle, or Jimmie Foxx.
More H's than Babe Ruth, Ken Griffey Jr., and Rogers Hornsby.
More RBI than Frank Thomas, Reggie Jackson, and Jim Thome.
12th all time in Win Probability Added.
25th all time in Adjusted OPS+, ahead of Albert Pujols, Honus Wagner, and Willie McCovey.
2 MVPs.
1956 ROY.
And somehow when you think of "inner circle" HOF'ers, he's probably not near the top of the list.

True story
-
Also the first black manager, something you can’t overlook.

The second I think best Orioles players he's the first I think of. Dumb post tbh. But the dude is awesome. Also the first black manager.

He set the record for HRs for a rookie before Andro McGuire came along. Got traded by the Reds to the Orioles for Milt Pappas because they thought he was washed up. All he did in his first year with the Orioles was win the Triple Crown. Great Great Hitter and a good outfielder too. Somewhere I have a 1957 Topps card of him.

One of the best players of all time.
-
Amen brotha I’m ready for the card

Totally agree. Why isn't he in the game?

He wasn't in that game, which wasn't last year's game but 2 years ago's game because they didn't have his likeness rights.he still isn't in the game for the same reason.

I met Brooks and Frank while bartending in Baltimore years ago, super nice guys, I met Brooks a lot and he was the most humble guy I’ve ever met. There was tv playing the game and he was saying how good players are nowadays and how wouldn’t be able to play now, Just downplaying how good he really was. Probably the best defensive third baseman of all time, I wish I got to talk to Frank more but that was a one time thing,
-
Been high on my wish list for being added to the game since I started playing DD.
-
Btw thank you for the appreciation Frank post. I live in Bmore and a huge Os fan.
-
Was always in my top 10. Remember an 80's Topps sticker album that had a section for top HR leaders all time, and the top 4 had fancy foil stickers: Hank, Babe, Willie, and Frank.
-
Frank Robinson only is underrated in that he should be in the top ten all time hitters list and he's not always.
Curious how this post got bumped from two years ago. Not that I'm complaining. I wish he was in the game.
