How do you hit in this game?

Looking at all the high ERAs and batting averages, it seems like a lot of games are slugfests,, yet i find myself getting constantly bogged down on 1-0, 2-1, 2-0 games (those are hit totals btw). I am struggling to hit above .230. Outside of anything technological (input lag and connection isn’t the issue, outside of the standard pvp lag as the away team), does anybody have any tips? Thanks all

Practice and patience.
And if you want to find people to play games with to just work on stuff, a lot of us are in a discord server where we play against each other often.

I think for anyone who isn't a top player, there are a few things that really matter when hitting.
If I'm tired, I can't focus and I strikeout out a ton. I have to be wide awake.
If I'm distracted, I.E. there is talking in the room, or maybe I'm chatting or something while playing, I'm going to strike out a lot.
It's really something that you have to give your full attention to. It's easier for me to pick up patterns, to discern balls and strikes when I'm doing that.

Best advice I can give is to try and learn your opponents pitching tendencies and make small adjustments inning to inning.
Try to find patterns. Alot of people use fireballers and throw up and in when they need strikeouts. Some throw changeups low. Figure out their go-to pitch and capitalize.
The key is to know the opposing pitchers strengths and how your opponent uses them. Easier said then done. I know. Some games you'll get dominated...others you'll crush everything. It happens.

Take pitches, even if they are strikes in the zone. Work the count

Sometimes it doesn't matter what you do, you can square several P/P's and outhit your opponent and still lose. It just happens. Once you accept that you won't be so hard on yourself. I still have problems accepting that.

Seriously. My girl knows to GTFO out of the room if I’m playing and she’s on the phone. She thinks it’s hilarious and rightfully so but it’s sooooooo hard to focus with chatter.
To OP: it sounds simple but see ball, hit ball. Don’t think too much, just react and recognize patterns to help you sit on pitches. I used to be pretty decent but I took last year off and it took a while to get it back but once you get there (and you will) you’ll know.

Thanks for the tips so far everybody. Just to add some extra insight, my obp is about 60 points higher than my average and my isolated power is about 1.8 to 2 (not looking at my stats right now, so these are guesses), so I’m wondering if my problem is getting the bat on the ball more. Appreciate it, guys

I was struggling due to frustration with the game and not showing patience.. I went back and watched cbrev’s hitting tips , but I also decided I would start doing team builds instead of just a god squad. I’m having more fun in ranked because I just don’t care anymore.

It’s funny you mention this, as this is a tenet I fully subscribe to. I try not to play late at night or on Sunday as all the casuals are asleep or watching football, only the diehards are left, and I get crushed!

It’s funny you mention this, as this is a tenet I fully subscribe to. I try not to play late at night or on Sunday as all the casuals are asleep or watching football, only the diehards are left, and I get crushed!
Maybe thats why i have lost 6 RS games in a row. I usually play anywhere from 10pm-1am

Im playing the event alot and I'll have games where I can't hit too well and will lose 6 in a row. Recently I had a lucky streak where I had like 3 wins in 5 games. I switched to The show 16 view for a few games, hit better, and then back to SZ1 where I was hitting a bit better. Now I'm back to losing every game. I've been stuck at 43 wins in this event for.... 8 or 9 games now? These forced hanging pitches are killing me.
Every day I've been on the verge of quitting this game. I dont think I'm buying 21.

Grip it and rip it if it's in the strike zone this year with power button has been the meta all year.

Those losing streaks really feel awful don't they? Sometimes everything just goes wrong but that is a pretty extreme streak you're probably just about to start steam rolling W's.
