Aroldis vs Altuve

What if Altuve crushes it again?
He hasn’t crushed much of anything since he took that buzzer off.

Anyone else notice how the Astros scandal (in a nutshell) is a polarizing glimpse into the use (misuse) of logical fallacies by fellow humans?
What are the fallacies that you’re referencing?

That doesn't guarantee he won't. I'm not an Astros fan lol, but I would love to see Altuve crush it again off of Chapman.

It's hard to be specific without sounding like a [censored], but any time you see any sort of conversation on the internet about it, you're bound to find at least one. Especially when you have the misfortune of stumbling into the hornet's nest of a Yankees fan and an Astros fan going at it.
It's always okay if "x" team because "y" team did it too. You really mean to tell that "a-z" teams weren't doing it too? If Altuve homers then it means it's okay to cheat.
I think it comes from most people feeling strongly about the situation, but not being able to distill those feelings well.

I totally hear you. It’s rampant confirmation bias. I do dislike the Astros, but you make a good point.

Altuve will smash it, yet again. Regardless of trash cans, his batting average, buzzers, cheating, blah, blah, blah, etc., etc...
Go Stros. #ForTheH

Oh don't get me wrong, I also dislike the Astros based exclusively on what they did and their smug attitude since. In my opinion, there shouldn't even be an argument.

I was of course being sarcastic. If the Astros win, with the way society is today combined with the lack of punishment for the players involved, young kids will look at that situation and say “hey......what is the incentive to play it straight? These guys cheated and all they lost was a GM and manager?! Sounds good to me. Bring on the trash cans!”
In response to another gentleman in this thread, do teams try to gain an edge?? Of course they do!!! Every team in the MLB tries to gain an edge and if they say they don’t they’re lying. But there is no way every team went to the extremes the Asterisks did, otherwise we would’ve heard about it by now.
I can’t stand Altuve or Bergman! I’d like to see Chapman and Altuve in a cage match!

I'm almost 100 percent sure Altuve never wore a buzzer. It's insane how something someone said without a shred of evidence has become almost common knowledge. I am rooting for Altuve to give Chapman grinch face again if the Yanks can even get there

There’s also not a shred of evidence that he didn’t. Why do people wanna see the cheaters win?

I don't hate the Astros.
Most wanted them to win because of the 'Houston Strong' thing.
They sucked for years in the NL.
I look at them differently now, but hate? No.
I wouldn't mind them winning to prove they didnt have to cheat.
Sort of like Barry Bonds. He didn't need to cheat but did. -

I didn’t really dislike them until they cheated and got off scott free.......and no fans to throw “rotten produce” at them. Soooooo, since they are t gonna be punished, I feel like them losing is the only punishment/justice the fans are gonna get.
