As someone who is consumes a slew of the brew, is astound by the grounds, and keen of the bean... I feel very qualified on this subject.
I've always loved coffee, but which chain is the best between Dunkin' and Starbucks. Recently I would've said Starbucks, but now I have a newfound appreciate for Dunkin' coffee, here's why.

    1. Price
Starbucks can afford to charge a lot because they're selling you their name. When you think Starbucks, you think good coffee, so even when the product may be the same (or even worse) the reputation would sell it to someone who doesn't no better. Dunkin' has $2 medium lattes (iced or hot) after 2 pm every single day. At Starbucks I'd imagine you pay closer to $4-5 for the same drink.

    2. Other Foods
Some people want a pastry of sorts to wash down with their coffee, I completely understand that. So why not go to the place that specializes in pastries? Dunkin' donuts literally makes donuts that go great with their coffee. In a way I simply cannot describe, the donuts simply match the coffee well. Any pastry from Starbucks may look fancy, but will certainly not top a Boston Bronx Cream donut from Dunkin'. Also Dunkin' has free donuts every Friday, with your $2 latte. At Starbucks that's $8 for a drink and pastry.

    3. Taste
This is the most important category probably. Because even if the coffee is more expensive, it can be worth it if the taste truly is all that. The thing about Starbucks is they make huge profits by using burnt coffee beans. The average coffee drinker won't notice it, but someone who really enjoys coffee would. It's not the same experience you'd get if you went to an authentic, good coffee shop. Admittedly, Dunkin' is not all that either, but it's certainly closer. With Dunkin the grounds taste more authentic with a good bitterness, whilst combining well with the sweetness that is trademarked by any mocha latte or coffee from there. It just works well.

    4. Vibe
I also like the vibe Dunkin' gives better than Starbucks. I feel like I'm supporting a better company with Dunkin' and drinking coffee that is better than what the average coffee taster would think. When I think Starbucks I think 14 year old girls who want to show off to the other girls in their freshman class. Dunkin' is a gentleman's shop, they don't try too hard to be fancy when they aren't, because they know what they are.

TL:DR Dunkin is a better coffee chain than Starbucks, and is my current favorite. I also love their easy-to-use app.

Outstanding commentary on Dunkin vs Starbucks. Give Nespresso a shot. A step above Dunkin in price and quality but certainly less in price than Starbucks and better tasting to boot. Once you get over the investment in the machine, the return on quality is a win win.
