We are all on same playing level no matter which input we use.
This statement is absolutely false. We are not all on the same playing level. For example, I am routinely a upper division player that has a team batting north of .320 where as you have batting average hovering just over the Mendoza line. And have probably not made it past the 600’s in RS. You are not the same level of player that I am yet you make this remark. It’s amazing the [censored] you read in some of these forums.

I’m not sure bad hitter = Directional Hitter. I’m sure there are plenty of terrible zone hitters.
I’m not sure what this post has anything to do with what the OP was saying. Seems pretty presumptive of you to assume that the OP was saying what you’re alluding to
Read the 2nd paragraph, if has everything to do with what the OP wrote.
It appears you have it wrong as he has clarified several times that he was not making that point. You assumed or better yet inferred something that was not stated. And we all know what assumptions do.
Nope, I had it right.
No, really you’re wrong!!!! It’s an assumption. And if you’d like I can quote you the definition of an assumption. Have a good day
Please do and provide cite reference while you’re at it. Thanks, good day to you as well sir.
Ok smart a s s here you go:

I love how the OP is saying his opponent didn’t deserve to win because the OP uses the harder input. Lmao the whining and self pity. Let me break it down to you OP
Zone is high ceiling input. Directional is high floor. In other words. On a scale of 1 to 10. Zone input can be anywhere between 1 and 10 depending on your skill level. Where as directional is 4-7. Higher floor but lower ceiling. Yes all he has to do is focus on timing and pitch type , but can be easily exploited. Directional has hard time hitting up and in pitches and pitches up anywhere.
He was most likely a 6 where you are most likely a 4. You both on same scale. He just chose the higher floor and lower ceiling
TLDR : stop being salty because you were outplayed
I understood your logic and I like your analogies to explain it, but why be so rude to the guy?

That dude has no business giving any sort of analysis on anything regarding hitting. A quick look at his profile will show you that he can’t hit regardless of the mode he’s using. Just an observation.

Game matches skill versus skill. I’m a 500 RS player and hover there and match up with likewise players.
Yet you know this and are being disingenuous. Same playing field was obviously pertaining to topic of this thread. Zone versus Directional , we all have the option to use either , thus same level playing field.
Nice try on spin to cover up your obvious uneducated statement and indefensible position. Batting average and ranked record has nothing to do with this thread. Keep grasping, it’s comical and entertaining

The OP was salty and obviously condescending to players who use directional, as if they were inferior ( which they are not ).
Zone or directional does not matter, people use whatever input that is better for them.
-
Unless you’re asking your opponent if they’re using directional you’re guessing. I’d bet that not many directional opponents are very good and it’s not an advantage to use it.

You are not very good and talk about condescending. Everything you post is downright condescending. Hey pot this the kettle. And no I didn’t spin anything. You made the statement dude not me. I’m merely pointing out that you being a barely above .200 average hitter has zero business analyzing anybody’s preferred swing mode. The OP made no statement of superiority although based on my observations and research into you as a player I’m guessing the OP would dispatch of you in a RS game pretty handily. And based on your analysis I would rank you a 1-2 on your scale that you so condescendingly used to rank the OP. But I don’t expect much out of Mets fans. Have a nice day chump, be careful up there on your high horse it’s a long way down. And I hope I see you sorry a s s in RS I’ll be sure to teach you a lesson about about who is actually good and who is a legend in their own mind.

I’m most likely a 2. No dispute. Somehow you equate skill in hitting to life status? Wow man, go see a shrink. You do know this just a game. Whether you can hit well or not has nothing to do with life man. I feel bad for you now. What was just a debate on mechanics of a game ( you don’t have to be good at something to understand concepts btw, and vice versa). Has turned into a cry for help. There is some really good programs out there for mental health. Everyone needs a little outside help nowadays, no shame in that.
Hope you find the help you need, good luck and God bless.

Is there any chance future versions can separate the respective groups of hitters in RS. Similar to event guidelines, you would just select zone or directional at the start menu (or have it recognize your current settings) and then matchup with like opponents.
Experienced this match the other day where guy literally swing at 90% of the pitches, a few got left over the plate and nearly every one was a HR.
Made for a wildly irritating game.
I had a similar game the other day. Pretty sure he was power swinging to the pull side every pitch. I threw 90% sliders away and struck him out like 20 times. I lost because I hung 3 sliders and couldn’t score.
Just to be clear I’m not complaining. It should’ve been an easy win but I suck -
I just played somebody who entered the pause menu and came back, next thing I knew I had 75 pitches thrown by the 3rd inning. He fouled everything until I made a mistake and he obviously capitalized. I quit because I didn’t want to use my bullpen in as early as the 4th inning, let alone another starter. I have to admit he didn’t chase a lot of pitches, he didn’t check too many swings, he has a really good eye.
My guess is that he switched to directional hitting but I’m sure he could hit as well with any other interface, his discipline at the plate was elite!

I've been advocating for years that zone hitting should be enforced in every online game mode, but it's likely never gonna happen.
I think only pure analog should be used in all ranked matches. Zone is so unrealistic. Timing is everything and the batters vision and contact come into play.

Your argument would carry some weight if a lot of users actually use analog hitting, which is not the case at all. It's a very small minority in the community that uses this, almost everyone uses either zone hitting or directional hitting.
