Kikuchi scratched 30 minutes before game time. Nestor Cortes gets the emergency start and gives up 7 runs while recording one out. Bryan Shaw comes in to relieve and gives up 2 more.

Anyone wanna go the pen and warm up??

I know a couple guys at the local bar that are ready to go. That sucks man. Been a rough couple of decades for Mariners fans.

It’s a sad thing when you are watching a ball player’s dreams come to an end on tv. Shaw was DFA’d after that game and Cortes to the IL.

The Mariners are just collapsing like the city around them. Total failure in every aspect.

Well, I wouldn’t go that far.

There are some good young players that just need experience. Defensively, they are MUCH better than last year.

Evan White is as good a first baseman as you will ever see in the big leagues.

Kyle Seager has been solid out of the gate, and Kyle Lewis & JP Crawford showing a lot of promise.

Unfortunately, all it takes is one bad inning of bullpen collapse for most good teams to take advantage of mistakes.

I like what I am seeing, for the most part.

Not a pitcher but i can't wait to see what Kelenic can do for them when they bring him up, it's going to be a fun outfield with him and Kyle Lewis.

Yes very exciting, they may not be good right now but the Mariners will have a nice team going forward.

They do, lot's of young talent in this rebuild process... BUT, the Mariners are notorious for screwing that up and abandoning the rebuild and trading away players for aging veterans... The question is, will they finally stick to the rebuild and sign and KEEP there young players ? That's the question... Jerry Dipoto went all in on a total rebuild and did acquire some dam good young talent, but will the M's $%^ it up at some point ? That's been there MO in the past, one of the worst pro franchises in all of pro sports......

Very true, there a lot like the Canucks (NHL) in regards of drafting or getting great players and then trading them for rental players for a postseason run that never even seems to work out, it would be nice to see them hold onto these guys and see what happens.

Exactly.... I mean I"m all for trying to get a veteran to help the young guy's, but you don't trade away the young guy's for the vet .... If you look at the history of some of the Mariners trades it's ridiculously painful ... lol ... I mean it's comically bad ...

Yup agreed, i mean Adam Jones for Erik Bedard was a complete mistake, and don't get me started on the Tino Martinez trade.
