Nah, it's not being cancelled. It would set a crazy precedent.
If it was, logically, they'd have to cancel every season once a player tested positive for the flu since the flu is much more dangerous to this population than COVID.
Sports are going to be fine, the leagues are just in this crazy position where they have to overreact due to the hyperbolic, politically-driven, science-denying crazies that infest social media. Why they care about what these creatures think, most of whom aren't even real people... there will be case studies written.

you are 1 million % correct.

Now the Yankees are supposed to go in the same clubhouse the Marlins were just in. If 14 Yankees test positive then there will be a lot more noise...

Rosenthal and Nightengale just tweeted that the Yanks-Phils is postponed.
Besides the Yanks would have sent a crew in for an industrial strength level cleaning between each series. Heck, teams are probably doing it each night.
-
This just in FLORIDA MAN ran into marlins clubhouse naked after testing positive for COVID prior to yesterday’s game
-
It's definitely the nightmare scenario I feared would happen to some team and given the current state of COVID in the South and specifically FL I'm not surprised the Marlins were first to be seriously impacted. This is just a horrible situation for baseball in general.

Some politicians will scream for all sports to be shut down again, They don't want anyone to enjoy life so that we can blame all our misery on Trump resulting in his defeat in November. However, mass protests and rioting are encouraged.
-
People who go out and eat at restaurants or go out in the streets for social justice movements seem to be fine. But when players who have been tested every other day for a month show a bunch of positive tests we blame it on them? Calling a major conspiracy on this one

Specifically that you’re agreeing with the post that declares the flu more dangerous than Covid, and that the pandemic is media driven hyperbole.
Failed to respond as a quote and now it won’t let me delete this one

Look at the numbers. even with the inflated COVID death #'s due to incorrect recording of deaths, the death rate per million is similar to the flu.
The main difference is that COVID is much more contagious than the flu.How can you honestly tell me that part of this is not media driven?
People can't got to church, the beach or the gym because it spreads the virus but protesting is OK?
Certain states reopen and it is nonstop coverage on how dangerous it is (FL & GA) but other states that reopen at the same time (CO) and the governor is praised as being so brave.
Don't get me started on the bleep show that NY was. Any other governor whose direct actions lead to so many deaths would be recalled.
The virus is not to be dismissed, but when the coverage is narrative or ideologically driven, it loses credibility in the eyes of many.
