Red Sox 32-28. They can beat the Jays and Orioles easily but the Yankees and Rays will give them trouble. As much as I want them to make the playoffs they won’t this year, I just hope they re-sign Mookie
I wouldn't count on the Jays rolling over so easily those will be tough games for the Red Sox. I can see them splitting their season series. The Jays are one team I think that could surprise.

Maybe if the pitching is good.

Yankees look strong but their schedule is tough. 36-24 if they stay healthy. This thread has me excited for some baseball!!!!
-
Giants 19-41
Posey ends up opting out and the pitching suffers as a result. Barry Bonds, Pence and Fat Panda end up leading the geriatric offense as Zaidi decides to leave the youngsters off the “active” field to keep them healthy for ‘21 and beyond.
They beat the Rockies, D’Backs and Mariners a handful of times. They squeak a few out vs Oakland and SD. They take 1 or 2 games v the Angels and Dodgers. -

I predict a tight race between the Cubs/Cardinals/Brewers and Reds. However if the Cubs can get off to a fast start I predict they can win at least 30/35 games which should be good enough to contend. They still have a core of players that want to win and a good starting rotation if healthy and I think if Bryant leads off it could work out. It's going to be a big fight for first. Looking forward to finally seeing some baseball. Can't wait.
I'd love to say the Reds are going to run away with it, as much as i hate the DH, it is a blessing for the Reds crowded OF. The pitchers need to live up to expectations and Votto cant be the same Votto hes been last two years.
But
Thats what i see happening, slow starts from every one. Reds never get better than 3rd place and end up like 25-35.
History says that you're probably right; however, I am so excited to see this team play that I'm going to err on the side of the ridiculous. I think that the Reds go 39 - 21 and take the Central outright.
If Votto scuffles, move Moose to 1B and put VanMeter or Senzel at 2B. The OF is an embarrassment of riches. Castillo and Gray will both be sold, and Bauer will be better at full health.
Man, I can't wait to see these guys play. Go Reds!

**solid... Not sold... Stupid autocorrect.

In the last few years the A's have had a habit of starting slow but then making the playoffs cause they get hot in the second half. Since there is no second half this year, I think 30-30 sounds about right.

Braves 1-2 games over 500 because they gotta play the nationals 10 times.
hopefully freeman plays, but I see them going 25-35. Braves have a tough schedule. Yanks, Sox, Rays, Phillies, Nats, Mets pitching.

I agree, it is impossible to not be excited for this team on paper. I agree if Votto is done Moose at 1B and Senzel at 2B still leaves a lot in the OF. And the SP if they perform up to expectations are great. Castillo should get better, and Gray has to continue what he did last year. Bauer's history says he is a 5 ERA guy, he needs to revert back to his one best year. The Pen also has a lot of ??? The team can very easily win the Central and be a contender, or be extremely underwhelming do what i think and not even cone come close to competing.

The beauty of the short season is it allows for luck, a lot of it, by reducing the sample size... every team in the league, even the very worst, has an outside shot because any team can beat any team on any given day, and over a typical 162 game season, we will certainly know who the best teams are, but over 60, we really won't. And that luck is exactly what the Tigers will need early on, for if they get off to a fluky hot start, they could decide they have a shot if they bring up some of the young aces (Mize, Manning, Skubal) they have been grooming and go for it. I could see them at 36-24 just as easily as I could see them at 24-36. And of course, once you're in the playoffs, it's essentially the role of an 8 sided dice, because over 7 games, it's purely the luck of the draw.

This only plays if both teams have talent. For instance, the only way the Royals are beating the Yankees for than 2 times out of 10 is if most the Yankees get hit with covid. Even then, the Yankees taxi squad would still probably have a winning record.
-
AL
Texas Rangers 33-27 pitching staff is actually really solid and deep
NL
Miami Marlins 20-40 I think the Fish got better but the schedule is brutal obviously having to play the Mets, Phillies, braves, nats and now yanks, rays, Boston. Only play 2 bad teams in balty and Toronto
-
Braves: 60-0 then swept in the first round of the playoffs.

With Sale gone, no Betts, no Price, no fix to the pen, I don't think the Sox will beat the Jays at all.
Jays are much better suited, especially with Pearson on no innings count in a 60 game schedule, plus Ryu..And hate to break it to you, but there is a 0% chance Betts goes back to Boston. He always wanted out, which is why he never entertained re-signing, and Boston already has serious payroll trouble with luxury tax problems and one of the highest "dead money" situations in baseball. If anything, they're going to shed as much as possible
-
Are you telling me with 60 games left the Mariners are tied for first place ? YEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!! That's a winning season for the Mariners !!!
-
Looking at the schedule today the central is the easiest by far. I think the east and the west is the toughest. The rockies should be able to hang around .500 but the lack of pitching is going to be an issue. I think I read like 33 games in 35 days. Thats not good for a team with bad pitching. I think a longer spread out season would have been better for the rockies.

Pearson is questionable with the control and being a rookie, Ryu should be good however. I could see the Sox and Jays even

Dodgers
46-14 -

Questionable with the control?? Please tell me where you have ever read something bad about his control! Please.. I'd love to see it.
Every scouting report says he fills the zone with almost all his offerings, especially his 99-104 mph fastball and slider. His minor league stats show he absolutely throws strikes (2.4 BB/9). There is absolutely nothing indicating this is a thing.
Sure, we have yet to see the Jays blossom, so it's early to say they will overtake the Sox for the foreseeable future, but judging by young talent, and future payroll, you'd be extremely hard-pressed to find anyone outside of Boston say the Sox have a better looking future than the Jays.. Sox are a mess.. Jays have the best young nucleus in the sport along with Padres, Rays and Braves.

I've seen Pearson pitch when he was with the Canadians in single A ball and I can confirm he is a strike thrower. He's filthy or at least he was at the game I went to. I truly believe if the Jays start hot they have as good a chance of anyone of making the playoffs, they may even challenge the Rays for second behind the Yankees.
