For coming out about the cheaters. It would of been better to come out when it was happening but at least we now know.
And Who knows how long it would of went on and the more technologically advanced it would get. That's not the baseball I want to watch and support. -

It used to be that honor, honesty and integrity meant something in sports and society in general. Nowadays, people would rather cheat and win than play an honest game and lose. -

Agreed. I am so sick of Jessica Mendoza and all others that like to act like it was wrong of Mike Fiers to "betray" his former team. Guess what? The Astros aren't his team anymore. If anything, he was defending his new team from being exploited while doing a favor to all other teams out there. Not to mention, putting the Astros in their place. I was never an Astros fan, but as a baseball fan, I really appreciated that roster of talented players. Now, not so much. But I'm glad that I became aware of what happened, and I'm glad everyone else did too.
Do I understand why no Astro players stopped what was going on? Absolutely. If I were in their place, would I have said anything? As much as I hate to admit it, I doubt that I would. But that doesn't make what happened acceptable and EVERYBODY deserves to know about it. Maybe this will help stop similar behavior in the future. As baseball fans, that’s all we can really hope for.

Maybe the LA City Council will vote next week to declare a Mike Fiers day, and erect a statue outside of Dodger Stadium of him holding up an asterisk.

Nah. Only Dodger legends get statues. But what do you think? Do you commend him? Or would you rather have the cheating continue?
Should the Asterisk's give back the trophy? Or they going to put it on display as if they are real champions? -
If any current player is upset over what Fiers did, it’s because they are cheating themselves.

TBH, this issue transcends all clubs. MLB players need a designated third party like an HR department where they can anonymously bring up things.
Fiers should have said something WHILE on the team. Waiting 2 years to open his mouth? That's not cool. Good only knows about all of the things on and off the field that ball players share with each other. He has put himself in a rather awkward situation.
He's not a hero by any means, but also not a villian.
If an HR department existed, Hinch, Fiers and anybody else could have and would have said something.
Then everyone accountable would have paid, and it would have been stopped in it's tracks.
Players/coaches need a place to go and report issues that are potentially detrimental to the game.

There’s no organization in the world as big as a baseball team that doesn’t have an HR department. The Astros have an HR department. MLB has an HR department. The MLBPA has an HR department as well as a safe channel to raise issues. Heck Fiers released his bombshell with a couple other anonymous players so clearly it can and could have been done anonymously. I understand what you’re saying, but there were a dozen ways that Hinch or anyone else could have anonymously spilled the beans on the situation and [censored] it down as soon as they saw it. If you’ve ever worked for a company bigger than 10 people, you know that there are always channels to report abuse. You can’t give these guys excuses. If they had excuses, they would apologize and explain themselves instead of making jokes about it while accepting rewards.

Good point and well put. He’s a bystander. But there may be any one or more of many reasons he didn’t speak up. I haven’t been following it closely, were any given?
If there’s not a good reason then bystander it is.
A couple of years ago two of our national (Australian) cricket team were caught cheating on a TV broadcast. The captain knew it was going on and said to them he didn’t want anything to do with it; he was found equally guilty by Cricket Australia (governing body) and the media and public. All three were suspended for 18 months.
Not singling out Fiers here, at least he said something to bring it to light. But anybody in those organisations that knew it was going on and said nothing contributed to the problem.

Ummm i thought that was what the Players Association was? Union Reps?
There is a PA and Union Reps, but not a true "HR type" group that you can speak to on condition of anonymity.
PA and Union would represent the players interest only, and not that of MLB. Union "fixers" exist like they do in the NFL etc, but if a player has information that needs to be reviewed by MLB, they have nowhere to go.
