What is a breaking pitch?

Looking at quirks... it lists breaking pitches. Is this a curveball, slider and slurve?

Breaking pitches are pitches that should always go away from the batter so that when reach for it it's either a miss or a soft ground ball, so yes breaking pitches include IE Sliders, curves. (Not always the case in MLB the show 20 were your pitches tend to get sucked out over the middle of the plate)

Breaking pitches are pitches that should always go away from the batter so that when reach for it it's either a miss or a soft ground ball, so yes breaking pitches include IE Sliders, changeups, curves. (Not always the case in MLB the show 20 were your pitches tend to get sucked out over the middle of the plate)
changeups aren't breaking pitches.

Fastballs: 4seam, 2seam, cutter,sinker, running, splitter,and forkball
Breaking: slider,slurve, curve ball,sweeping curve, 12-6 curve, and screwball
Offspeed: any of the changeups

Most commonly breaking balls are sliders and curve balls.

Breaking pitches don't have to break AWAY from a batter. Righty vs righty they break away. Reverse that and they break in on you.

I believe all breaking balls are considered “offspeed” pitches, but not all offspeed pitches are breaking balls

Fastballs: 4 seam, 2 seam, cutter, sinker, running, splitter.
Breaking balls: curveball, sweeping curve, 12-6 curve, slider, slurve, screwball.
Offspeed (NOT BREAKING): changeup, circle change, vulcan change, forkball.Breaking balls essentially move slower than a fastball and move horizontally as opposed to offspeed moving mostly vertically.
Edit: the 12-6 curve moves vertically, but because the break is significant and has a different rotation than, say, a change up, it is a breaking ball. It's the exception to the rule.

Breaking balls are considered breaking balls because you "Break" Your wrist when you throw them Causing the ball to spin on it's Y axis as well as it's X axis.

Splitter is a short form of split finger fastball, forkball is a fastball cause it's the same grip as a splitter but a splitterthe ball only touches the fingers, the forkball the ball also rests against the palm, forkball came first,splitter is an evolution of it
