Why some believe in scripting or tilting

You literally described exactly how my last game went. This happens all too frequently to be just coincidence and getting “beat” by a “better player”
That excuse is the cowards way of admitting they like the game because they can win from pure luck and straight bs. It’s why they defend it and why SDS keeps making it that way.

I’ve found it less prominent online okay. We have about 8 guys in the new online league or whatever. Some games have been solid, but there are like 16-15 12 inning absolute nonsense games happening a lot. It’s annoying. The game shouldn’t just randomly RNG as bad as it does.
My most vivid memory I was playing against my friend last year and The Big Hurt was batting.. and when I tell you any contact I made on a ball was 400 feet, it might be understatement. Game forced me to hit a HR.
What does RNG mean?

Random Number(s) Generator. It’s like the old Dungeons and Dragons game where you had 20 sided dice, and you had to roll a 15 or higher to slay the princess and win the dragon’s hand in marriage. Except with this, it determines Whether you hit a pop up to the infield or a homerun to the parking lot.

Im currently being a record [censored] at 23-2. Not playing many games as well as Taking my time with RS because the game is in a bad spot and I dont spend money so I have to grind. A few games from WS last night so I tell myself Im going to play til I get there. Start up a game with a guy who is 50-30ish. Not great, not horrible, and hes flailing at oswalt early. Cant time up the sinker, cant hit the curve. He also starts kluber with about half his energy and bunts against the shift. Hes that guy. I get a couple runs across to make it 2-0 early. The next few sequences almost made me delete the game. Hes got a runner on third, 2 outs, i dot a sinker up and in on Ryne. He somehow makes contact on very late and bloops it over first. 2-1. Next inning grandy tries to make a running play in left with the shift on devers. Stumbles like an idiot misses the ball and devers gets to third with no out. I will admit it was sort of my fault trying to make the long running catch. But my god. He hits a single next AB, i hang a slider and he deposits it into the seats. Down 4-2 just like that. The next inning i hit two just early squared up foul ball dongs, and a perfect perfect right at someone. Then I ground into a good good DP. Im fuming. Raging. Go to the top of the 8th and i get some luck back. Load the bases after an error and infield hit and hit a grand slam with grandy to go up 6-4. Tack on another to make it 7-4. Then get toxic and close with kluber because he started a tired kluber. Point is I should of won probably 10-2. But the game quite literally let him stick around and almost beat me if I dont lock in the last two innings. I check the PCI feedback after and he had four balls in play over a “12”. I had 14.

It’s the gaming world we live in these days, gotta keep players playing and spending money. Anyone disputing this is not in touch with how businesses “attract” consumers.

“You lost to a better player”, the famous excuse.
If you can give the RNG hitting a high number to roll in your favor you’ll be able to play through the bs in this game.
For everyone else, winning/losing is determined by getting LUCKY with the RNG. Errors, HR’s on early/Ok, hits with the ball not even touching the PCI, hanging your pitches....it’s all luck and if it rolls in your favor you’ll have success during a game.
Any average player who denies getting lucky during games then comes on here to defend this trash is why we have the same thing year after year.
Crazy cuz I'll actually take their advice adjust, practice, get better but there's nothing else I can do unless I turn into pitchingrebel or kyle overnight. Lol I mean i got 8 hits 5 runs but realistically i probably should had a couple more hits and a couple more runs and shouldn't of even gave up more than 2 runs if any. Is what it is i guesss
When a perfect/perfect with Gallo goes nowhere but a triple in the gap with the ball not even touching the PCI wins the game....it’s all luck. You have to generate a high percentage of rolls (good hits) on the RNG hitting to get to the next level.
Yup know exactly what you mean. People will ask why still play. Honestly im almkst bout done. But pre release streams, beta etc had my really excited about this year after sinking alot of time in 19. First time in a while I've actually been excited about a games release. Made my first preorder since like ps3. So there's still a bit of hope. Eh maybe ill just mess around with rtts till i see what the next patch brings. If nothing guess ill just have to cut my losses.

It’s absolutely real. I played two RS last night. First game I lost in the 8th. Next game I go up early. Opponent can’t even make contact. He’s flailing at everything. I’m up 2-0 all game. I’m smacking good good and good okays to the warning track probably 5 times. In my head I’m thinking ‘I’m gonna get screwed in the 8th’.
8th inning there is a pop fly. Cutch is in center. I’m running for a normal routine ball. Cutch STOPS! HE ACTUALLY STOPPED AND STEPPED TO THE SIDE AND THE BALL DROPPED RIGHT BESIDE ME ALMOST TWO SECONDS LATER. The game actually made me miss a pop fly. It took control of my player and legit moved him out of the way.
Next pitch low and away 2 seamer just of the plate. Bomb to left center. I’m livid. Bottom 8 I strike out first at bat cuz I’m still fuming. Betts comes up. Good good belt high. Warning track out. Good okay fly out to end the inning.
Top of the ninth, I bring in Chapman. Slider away. He flails. Sinker low inside. BLASTED to dead center and he takes the lead. I lose 3-2.
This guy had ONE HIT through 7 innings and could barely make contact. All of a sudden not only does he make contact but it goes a looooong way when he does. Meanwhile I’ve been consistently smacking the ball all over the place and can’t buy a run.
Between the P2W [censored] on DD and the scripting, I’m about done. It’s not even fun because it feels like no matter what I do I’m always playing from behind. Even when I’m winning I’m always terrified of the late innings.
-
I’ve heard in custom leagues the game is amazing. If anyone doesn’t think this game is hot garbage, how many times does rebel drop a video every week. What about Kyle or mgunski.? If three of the best players in the world barely drop content it shows that they think it’s trash
-
If you are consistently good with input you can overcome the “rubber banding” in this game. This game is designed to keep things close in DD. It’s unfortunate.
-
Yeah, unfortunately it does seem to be the case that you just have to hang on through the drama that you know is coming.
I don’t think the game is scripted per se, but there is definitely something in the code that will create opportunities for the trailing team.
It’s like a conquest stronghold game. You know if you score a few runs in the first that the cpu will get a couple runners on the next half inning.
Sometimes I can weather these storms and sometimes I can’t.

Exactly. You get people saying.. " Oh why are the top players consitently at the top then?" Because they put the PCI almost perfect every swing and hit bombs. They've already got the game won by the 3rd inning. Average to good players will still hit the ball fairly well but not every swing. The RNG will probably affect us more than it will the best players
-
Yup. Here’s a scenario. Im up 2-0 in the 7th. I’ve hit the ball really well all game and have only struck out once. Guy I’m playing has already struck out 15 times.
He hits a 2 run bomb in the 8th and then continues to strike out at his normal pace. I end up winning the game in the 10th but this game unnecessarily burnt me out and I turn off the system. It’s not about the fact he hit a 2 run homerun in the 8th. It’s the fact that I hit the ball well all game and my opponent didnt have a clue.
This is the same game that is played way too often.

Watch serenity vid and you’ll see why people believe in “tiliting” “Scripting”
-
If your good enough you’ll overcome the RNG, if not then sadly, that’s just how this game is man
-
I know SDS has come on here multiple times saying that comeback coding or whatever you want to call it isn’t real but it sure does feel like it. I’ve been on both sides of it many times.
-
Well i just gave up a very early/ rolled over homerun to hal Newhouser. Ive seen it all now

I beat too many players with far better records and batting averages for this to not be a thing. I also get shut out sometimes by guys who are obviously worse than me. Like losing a game by a run bc everything I hit dies on the warning track or goes straight to someone and his weak hits become runs.
