Ok here goes.

I preordered about a month ago and then decided to cancel my order and wait to see what happens during the early release.

I got a full refund and PS stated that the game cover would still show on my console; but wouldn't be able to be accessed unless I bought it again.

I just bought it again, as I got a free $100 PS card from work.

Now when I go into download it; it just gives me a timer. Nothing about having to download it.

Is it safe to assume that the download from before is still there, because I repurchased the game, and I don't need to download it again?

Or do I need to delete that download, if I can do so without messing it up, and redownload the game from the new purchase?

This for ps4 as i dont have a ps5 and dont know if its different.
go into data storage and see if it is in with the apps.yes - you are good. No- you ll need to download from the library.

Ok. So I went into Settings: Storage: Applications and it shows a 79.72 file for MLB The Show 22. So I assume I'm good.

You don’t download from the store. Go to your library and it should be under purchased and you download from there

Yes, I think I hit it once (while RTTSing the late inning programs). However, I would have easily hit it every day during pre-release and then the following weekend (along with a ton of other players I guarantee). By the time they put it in place last year, most people had already scaled back their show playing.

I want to reiterate, the only reason the xp cap was necessary was because people weee exploiting play now with custom rosters (ie the walk method). Under normal DD play, the cap isn’t needed at all.

I think most of my favorite posts were either deleted or got me banned (or both). I wish I still had access to my musings about “Step by Step.”

I'd be curious about your thoughts on the complexities of Boy Meets World and whether Topanga and Corey truly had staying power.

No way in the world that Shawn wasn’t dippin it in that every time Corey turned his back. I’m sure they would have ended up with like 5 kids but only one of them would be Corey’s. And I can tell from a million miles away that topanga was on the fast track for an opiate addiction.

If Rickey has 99 speed and 99 stealing I’m definitely taking him. I mean, that alone will keep him on my roster year round as a pinch runner, whereas the other cards will all be replaceable sooner or later.

Good point. However, if your just looking for a steals guy you should be able to lock that up with a Live Series card that might be a gold or lower. I'm thinking of Buxton and Turner from last year.

It's just a time game at that point. No investments, stub profit per flip is usually fairly low (50-150 common with volume) so you gotta working the flip fingers to the bone.

Nothing wrong with that either but there is no shortcut to completing collections that early unless you pull 4 trouts like I do every year lol

Yeah I just can't stand flipping on console. Which during early access you have to do. I'll gladly wait until the website/app are up and running to get into the routine

This is gonna sound weird but I feel the same way which is why I use remote play from my phone and remote into the console to do market stuff. It goes so much faster from my phone than from a controller and I can do it while on the sh!tter or on the couch watching TV with the family.

I do not use a CAP I have no need for the equipment and I do not care for most of the unlockables, I will be selling all of that stuff early in the game cycle. Best way to finish the LS collection is by flipping cards. Buying cards off the market. I will work on 1 division at a time. I do not think I will lock in cards this year unless I have them all for that team.

Do you target the cheap ones first; to get them out of the way? Or do you try to go all in for Trout and then finish off the AL West?

I usually go the NL West first starting with the dodgers, I love Bets, Muncy, W Smith, Pollock and Taylors swings. It is my favorite team, But I think the AL will be easier this year, even with Trout being expensive. I do one team at a time, If you can do the cheaper teams first it could be better and it is better to do them early cause of roster updates you can run into that common going for 2,500 looking at you Jonathan Diaz.

Don’t think of TA 1 cards as week 1 must haves. They are a stub sink geared towards people who don’t have the patience to wait before doing exchanges. Real games and IE will not go live until 2 weeks after launch…I usually don’t begin HD2’s until 2 weeks after launch. Until then I just need a team capable of crushing veteran and all star conquest games.

That's actually pretty cool. I saw that picture and wondered what it was, didn't really look into it. None of those are surprising. I think Marte is gonna be a huge difference maker on that team and will help Lindor get back to his 2016-2020 self.

It happens once in a while. I always attribute it to my WiFi however I know less about computers than I do about hitting a Randy Johnson slider....in real life.

I think you are new to this game so you did not have to deal with the abomination that was the Ryan Feierabend card back in (I think it was) The Show 2019. Knuckleballs and bunting should both be kept out of this game. They add nothing but cheese (I don't care if they exist in real baseball - this is a video game, not real baseball).

What's wrong with bunting tho? I'm not talking about the cheesy drag bunts with every 99 speed guy, but if you find yourself in a pickle and you get on base with no outs, there's nothing wrong with a sac bunt to move a guy into scoring position or over to third base with less than 2 outs.

Yeah it is the bunts for base hits with the 99 speed guys that I mean. Sac bunts I have no issue with. If they could make it so that was the only bunts that work most of the time I would be ok with it. And apparently, in this year's game there is this 'spamming' the triangle button that increase the chances of a successful bunt. It is all messed up like it was a few years ago when people complained continuously about the bunt cheese.

ETA: and another old problem that seems to have returned is speedsters scoring from 2nd base on a slow groundout to SS. This is due to the 1st baseman being slow to react and throw. Then there are the horrible slow animations that make executing a successful rundown almost impossible. I now just run them back. A lot of times I get them because they think I am going to throw, and they reverse their direction only to run right into the tag.

I see that the current WS ends 4/11 and the current BR Program ends 4/18 or 4/19.

Will that be the last to earn any cards from those programs?

I'd imagine so since the new game will have started. Neither one has had new cards since like January but they've renewed the rewards path. I think that's the end of it.

I know there won't be new cards. But will there be a Forever part to RS and BR?

Or are these current programs the last that you can play those modes? Meaning the Forever Event will be the only online mode.

You can definitely play ranked and BR after the next game comes out(you can still play both those modes in MLB 18, 19, and 20 as we speak. I'm not sure how the rewards/programs work after the next game comes out though

There's a new ranked seasons and BR program every month. You can continue playing and earning the existing cards via those programs as they reset monthly until the servers are eventually shut off.

They only reset for a few months after the new game releases. Then, it’s just one never ending season for RS.

I dunno, every time I log onto 20 I get a notification that the ranked seas9n has ended and I have new rewards. Last time I logged on was maybe a month and a half - 2 months ago.

Yeah, they reset the season monthly for a while and then nothing…it’s just a continuous season now. There’s currently no end date.

I think you’re onto something. I think when SDS showed batting averages by difficultly legend/HOF were like .220 and .180.

For Rotisserie you’d have to move Trea Turner into consideration because steals are always heavily weighted while the runs screwed and RBI opportunities will be non-stop in that LAD lineup.
