If the game was any good a majority of hits wouldn’t be on late and early swings and they wouldn’t be a majority of HRs instead of singles. The game is fundamentally broken just a pile of garbage at this point. Crossplay games feel especially bad whoever is hosting it just turns into dinger city. The peer 2 peer rewards bad connections and that’s a huge issue for a game like this.

Im honestly getting tired of the amount of bunt cheese I see in this game. Half the people who can’t hit just load up with a bunch of 99 speed players and abuse the mechanic. If they had to line up a pci I guarantee that most of them couldn’t bunt tying the bunt to a simple button press is a mistake that could be easily fixed by requiring a pci that needs to be lined up to some degree.

"Bunting" is part of baseball, example: if i have 1 out and 1 guy on 2B be sure i'm looking to capitalize on your weak defense to move that runner over. As they say "that's just baseball".

If someone takes a speed/contact squad into a three inning game, at Polo, on Hall of Fame, I don’t fault them. It’s my job to defend against it, plain and simple.

I'd say player pool is just completely depleted.

Two way pitcher glitch not being fixed for two weeks now with no plans in sight/communication from development team on wtf is going on No reason to grind for 900+ rating when everyone can achieve WS rewards by just playing and losing Gameplay hasn't been tweaked/updated AT ALL since launch.

It's obvious people are giving up, hell even the Devs have clearly given up based on the way they are handling everything. Hopefully the MLB license renewal goes in favor of 2k next time around.

As much as I dislike 2K's business model, their games are high quality.

I enjoyed MLB2K. 2K13 was literally just a roster update of 2k12. Gameplay wise, 2k never matched SDS & saying otherwise is pure nostalgia. Now 2k had better commentary, presentation, online franchises etc. But it has nothing to do with SDS being complacent with an unbalanced ultimate team mode (which also exists in EA & 2K games today)

I was referring to NBA2K since MLB2K hasn't been a thing in a long time. Can't really compare because we don't know what an MLB2K would look and play like nowadays.

I just went back and read every comment in this thread a second time. There was not a single comment complaining about losses. There were actually multiple people saying that it has nothing to do with losses, but about the experience. It is wonderful that you don’t have problems, but plenty of others do. I have yet to play a successful coop game with my kid this year. He loves it, but every single time we wind up on a freeze off. I actually don’t think I have had a single freeze off in RS games this year, but I have definitely experienced other connection related issues….and I don’t have connection issues with anything else, including other games. It 100% has nothing to do with losses.

Demise has been saying the same thing for years since he got smacked around by actual good players years ago. Now it’s just a crutch for everyone to cry connection issues. Haven’t had any issues outside of one coop game where the guys we were playing had 2 guys on last gen systems. Been playing 3s with no issues.

Do you have trouble with reading comprehension or are you just trying to protect your bad connection crutch?

I'll say it again for you. I had over 300 losses on my RS record last year and told someone I would quit 5 times in a row (which I did) just to prove losses mean absolutely nothing to me. I want to have fun period.

Also did you know the first month I heavily played DD in 17, I made the WS with an all gold team? I'm not hungry but that doesn't mean world hunger doesn't exist. Just because you don't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Personally, I like the game this year and think it's by far the best version since 17. Hitting is certainly not perfect but much improved over the past few years and for the most part at least in a 9-inning game the better player is going to win. The sad thing about this post is that it's the same post that's on the forum every year. Someone will post this is the worst version ever. Someone else will chime in that the game was perfect before whatever patch we are on and then others will jump in that it's the worst sports game ever. Haven't read enough of the responses to see if there is the inevitable just wait until ea brings back MVP baseball and then sds will be out of business but usually falls somewhere in this thread too.

Just wait till EA brin….lol. Just messing. But I agree with everything you said. The only people that have a problem with it are the casuals who want to do minimal and get all the top rewards. Because they purchased the game and darn it they deserve everything. Or players who just aren’t that good. Who at the end of the day need to blame someone or something, because god forbid they aren’t as good as they think they are. Are there flaws absolutely. But you’re right this is the best version of the show since ‘17. If I spent this much time complaining about something I’d do something else.

The only reason the game makes money is casuals they catered to the meat riders here and the game failed. You can’t even argue the game hasn’t been a massive failure relative to years past. I agree with you on that one. I wonder why they have it where we can play a full 9 inning game in a thunderstorm. Besides the lag it causes it’s just not realistic. The custom stadiums are silly a lot of the time.

No I don’t see them on the app but I keep seeing them pop up after games then go to open them up and they aren’t there. 🤷🏻

If you haven’t done this already (video below) then this may help. I have a series s upgraded from ps4 and for me the game plays perfectly now. My record was a bit over 500 on the ps4 and this season I’m at about 970 in rs. Only difference was changing
