    Thank you SDS DEVs

Thank you for the gameplay updates. You listened to the community and spent the time to update this. I don't play any other video games and I bought a PS5 to maximize this game too. Releasing this game on many consoles and have the additional features was super ambitious and I am sure people were forced to do A LOT more with a lot less during Covid-19 since this seems to be motto for corporations.

  • I appreciate players that...
  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

Thank you for letting the ball land and not dash boarding. This game freezes and you quit when you are losing because you have better things to do. You don't bunt dance and you R2 once to see pitches like it was intended. I think this is the majority of the players on MLB The Show, I think 75%. I know it is cheesy, but thank you for not being a Jabroni.

  • Dashboarding in BR and Events game
  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

I don't get it and it is super lame, but it happens so frequently. Are people experiencing something similar? People are grinding stats for parallel or the BR rewards. Why is it so hard to let the ball land? "It might affect the stats on my silver pitcher?" I hope this could be a small update in future games where the stat counts.

People can rage quit all they want if it triggers them, but it seems like this is punishing everyone. Getting hits with silver Eddie Matthews or gold flashback Santana in this game is HARD because they suck and I suck at this game too!

  • FIX CONTACT SWING!
  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

I really hope they fix this so we can all play BR again. BR has been pretty trash after 6 wins. Turn off contact swing if you are still so clueless right now but know it creates 120 mph exit velocity... come on bruh... "We know there is a problem, but we will still leave it in there even though we have other alternatives like turning it off while we have time to work on the mechanics." SDS could look 20X smarter if they turned off contact swing 3 weeks ago. This is embarrassing on many many levels. This is the definition of stupid beyond imagination... You can turn it off while you work on it if you already admit it is broken.

Playing players like Cabera and his 100mph sinkers and 102mph FB in All Star and i can barely see the ball not alone try and hit it!

I do agree that Contact Swing is a joke, ive resorted to using it myself just to compete.

Yeah between pin point being way too OP and contact swing ruining hitting and pitching at the same time this [censored] game is a joke right now.

How is contact swinging ruining the game? Ichiro is literally a HOF player and a does nothing but "contact" swing

I watched Ichiro for many years and him taking bp. He doesn't hit 450 ft. bombs slapping the ball. His swing is different when he pulls the ball.

Tag animations are terrible. Tag a player out 2 feet from the base but is called safe as well as being safe and getting called out especially at first and home.

I forgot this. Base running AI can be infuriating too.

What a virtue signalling cringe worthy post. I honestly vomited in my mouth…and then out onto the floor…a lot.

I hope you have a great weekend buddy. I have empathy for hard work and if you think you can do better then you should create the new MLB game.

I really like AJ Rodriguez. He's funny, very likeable and an absolute beast at this game.

Wait you mean AJ Littlemann17? If that is the case, he is awesome and he is also a machine at the game hahaha. I sub to his Twitch.

  • DIAMOND Predictions
  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

Brandon Woodruff. He can get a boost to his K/9, HR/9 and H/9. He has a 11 K/9, given up 21 hits and 2 HRs in 41 innings. His The Show rating is 68 K/9, 71 HR/9, and 83 H/9. He is still 3.5K stubs.

Nick Castellanos. I don't think he goes diamond this update, but he is putting up good stats where it can be boosted. They can boost his ConR/PowR. He is batting .300 with 6 HRs and 6 doubles against righties. His defense is average at best so it might hold him back.

I think if "the market has priced a lot of the bump in", this is by definition NOT early investment ideas.

Did you read the post? That is why I went into details with Nick Castellanos and DeSclafani. I said the others are great candidates for upgrades but the market has priced those in.

@saldanabros5_psn said in Early investment ideas gold and diamond watch:

Carson Kelly should go gold. Jesse Winker should too, but he is tough, because his defense rating holds him back. Likewise with Castellanos. His hitting can only make him so much better. The increase needs to come from another area. Yuli Gurriel is someone I would look at. 84 overall sitting between 1.5k and 2k. Has had a great start to the season. Tim Anderson is another one where I have no clue why he isn't a diamond.

Yea I know what you mean about defense holding Castellanos back. I was hesitant, but his splits against righties are almost identical as JD Martinez who has 92/90 ConR/PowR. I think he needs around +10/+10 to be diamond. Also, his fielding has been slightly above average this year too, but I don't know if SDS will touch it.

  • Has contact swing been patched yet?
  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

I play a lot of BR games. It just makes BR unbearable when the PCI for a silver is the size of the entire strike zone.

  • Contact Swing new meta
  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

Look I mostly play BR for online. It is the most frustrating and it is ALL STAR. It feels like rookie when I have Shane Greene versus live version Sano and his PCI is bigger than the strike zone. Can SDS post the marginal difference between regular swing and contact swing this year on squared difference, exit velocity, and hits? Yes, if we were all cyborgs like McGunski or Rebel then even a .05% wouldn't matter. Come on its been 1+ month in the game...

  • Contact swings
  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

They make every BR game I play rookie difficulty. Makes you draft sidearms or sinker outliers (you probably should do that anyways). Anyone that pitches straight is useless. Everyone can hit darts with PCI bigger than the strike zone.

  • The VERY early roster update investment prediction
  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

Yes the roster update just came out. I am 2/3 on past prediction (you can see my posts). I did not know that Desclafani would give up 500 runs in one inning. SDS has been aggressive with upgrades this year. Kevin Gausman has been lights out this year. Honestly I don't know if they use the three year average (what does this even mean) anymore because ... Vladdy, Karincheck, Corbin Burnes? Is this an exponential weighted decay with a half life of one month now? Whatever sells the game more I guess.

Kevin Gausman - SDS can literally upgrade ONE stat and it should be a boost to diamond. He has 76 SO in 64 innings. The Show Rating is 65 rating. His K/9 is currently 12th in the league. Pick a card to compare to and it does not make sense. His WHIP is 8th in the league. and the BB/9 is at 70 and H/9 is at 87.

***I am operating under the impression that they are weighing the stats with a one month half life. Let me know what you think. Sorry for the Lynn investments btw.

This ones going into the cringe compilation, thanks friend.

Cringe?? Did your mom finally let you out of the basement??? Half life refers to decay in mathematics. You can Google GARCH model. It is how people do statistical regression models to predict future performance. Half life is how people weigh current performance versus previous performance. For example, if my half life was 1 year for hitting... My hitting stats for this year would count 50% (hence "half") towards the weight of the calculation and the previous year would be 25%.

  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

Hyun-Jin Ryu is currently going at his sell now price of 1000. The roster update is next week. If he has a terrible outing, you can quick sell. You can look at his stats this season and he is a top 15 pitcher. Only Blue Jays fan would know his stats. Happy investing and if he has 1-2 lights out starts and doesn't become a diamond.... no-one will know what SDS is smoking.

  • Dashboarding is still so lame
  • tngu834_PSNT tngu834_PSN

It is just a video game man. There are so many people who are childish that play this game. Maybe that is their only form of entertainment in their basement. R2, bunt dancing, taking five years in the pause menu, and etc. I don't do any of those because I don't find enjoyment from it, but you should know there are many weird people out there playing this game.

A couple of years ago there was no perfect/perfect. Just good/good that you would get pop ups and no home runs on. So SDS introduced perfect/perfect as well as good/good. Perfect/perfect was supposed to be at the very least a base hit. But they just pulled the classic bait and switch. Same [censored] they just call it something different. SDS are truly disgusting as far as a gaming company goes. They just lie to cover up thier inability to properly code a baseball game. More poeple need to get up in there [censored] constantly...like to the point of harassment...but not quite.

At no point was perfect/perfect ever supposed to at least always be a hit. They were very clear with that from the beginning. There are so many legitimate things to point to in criticizing SDS, but it seems most people want to either stretch the truth or straight up lie because I guess if they don't they feel their point isn't valid enough?

This is correct. SDS has posted that p/p can result in outs and there is a percentage breakdown. People can watch this posted by SDS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RWYlZKJVUc&t=991s . Go to 16:36. Perfect/Perfect result in a .860 batting average, which means 14% will be outs. So theoretically you could have a game where your perfect/perfect are 50% outs on 8 perfect/perfect and the next two games perfect/perfect results in 0% outs. Of course everyone will remember how half of their perfect/perfects are outs.

I don't think the game has perfect mechanics and sometimes the PCI feedback confuses me.
