Still need online to progress missions just like last year.

Back when MLB the Show 16 released. We were given this narrative story line stuff . Not a fan myself. But they said each year they would be adding and expanding on it. So I wanted give them a chance. They've added nothing that makes this game mode better. All we ask is give us something similar to NBA 2k and their myplayer game mode. No that is far from perfect. But at least they try.

Hell last years game had a glitch where your stats wouldn't even count towards your progress. And they never even bothered to fix it.

I mean we can discuss the addition of endorsements, off field choices, on field interviews, and the general MyCareer like additions, but at the end of the day I don't see the point in getting mad at them right now about that. They just overhauled the mode last year, and all of that would be a new overhaul. They aren't going to do that in such a quick turnaround. It would be like me getting angry because Playstation or Xbox didn't release a new console immediately after the last release. I agree that the mode could be better, but this year at best was always going to be a patch year with marginal improvements to the system. I just think we should focus on how they did in that department when critiquing this year's game.

What patch?

Just play MLB the Show 20.

MLB 2K12 had something very similar, and I hated it. I'm not going to try it.

If you are going to make every mode forced to be online, the least you can do is make sure the servers work two weeks after launch. Jesus Christ AOL Online has better connections then this game.

AOL is also an ISP. It should be better. You should try to throw a different analogy out there.

I should have been more specific. I am referring to vintage dial up AOL. That good stuff back in the day where you wait 30 minutes for the connection and pray to whatever God you believe in that it would work. Good times.

I knew what you were referring to. My point was that comparing SDS to companies that specialize in internet and server management is silly.

What’s silly is your entire point. Who cares if his analogy is off, did it matter that much to your day that it needed to be corrected?

Yes. Compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges. Compare them against another developer. see how far that gets you.

Haha, good luck with that! You must be an Xbox player that is new to SDS. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Last year it took Major League players bagging the game online during the tournament for them to admit that there was something wrong and only then did a patch come out!

Just read that Franchise is broken as well. So that means that literally every single specialty mode in this game has some kind of fundamental problem that makes it not worth playing: DD- Servers crashing every 5 seconds, RTTS- Progression not tracking, MTO- Random ineligibility to earn rewards, Franchise- Roster issues. How sony took Cyberpunk off the store but allows this to stay up is beyond me. It is absolutely mind boggling how your QA team messes up this bad.

Rosters are incorrect and when people try to access the roster vault, it stops working.

It also has the computer signing free agents and the like when you set it on manual. I wanted to sign a new catcher and pitchers but the game gave darnaud a qualifying offer and resigned 40 year old Charlie Morton lolol

I’m not doing that. That is not a fix, that is a bug. They actually need to fix the game I paid for, not rely on players doing the perfect combination of random tasks in the hopes it might work. This isn’t a 1990’s Sega cheat code

It's to differentiate from FIFA, 2K and the like that use contracts.

Oh I see. So it is not bringing them over to 22, you just get to play with them on 21 until the server is shut down. That makes sense.

No, you don't "HAVE" to. It speeds up rewards programs when it is working, but is not at all a must do. It gives you extra incentive to use your created player in DD is all. The real issue is that the rewards trackers are not working for either mode.

At the time I made this post the only way to get progress to track was to create a DD team.
