When there is so much negativity about a game for weeks, it’s suicide to start taking away beneficial things from the gamers that have stuck with it, even if it’s a glitch that only a few were using. I didn’t even know the MTO points exploit was a thing. I knew people were using HRD to get XP and points, but it was just too boring for me to do. Hasn’t it always awarded 25 xP per homer though? Bottomline is that until a game is running smoothly, you shouldn’t take away Goodwill. If anything, Goodwill should be added to reward the loyal consumers of a product. It’s a bad look when developers are quick to nerf things that help but slow to fix actual problems.

Thanks for the free card, but it makes no sense that SDS gives Future Stars higher power stats than Babe Ruth. Gotta be kidding right? If there’s one player in the game that should have 125 power, should easily be Ruth.

Defense needs to be toned down from the current superhero levels, especially with so many requirements for extra base hits.

The gameplay definitely hasn’t been great, but the most disappointing thing about the last couple months is just the general lack of communication from SDS about anything. It would honestly even be acceptable for them to just say, sorry but we can’t fix it until we get back to business as usual. Other studios are having to deal with the same issues, but are continuing to communicate with their player bases and releasing patches and content. None of the announced patches for the game seem to fix much, and often times things get worse. I own my own business and things have been very challenging during COVID. I’ve had a closed office for over 6 weeks, but I’ve communicated with my staff every day and we’ve been communicating with clients via phone and office visits when issues and emergencies arise. If they can’t fix it now, just publicly acknowledge it and say they’ll work on it when they have access to better resources and tech. Lack of communication just creates more toxicity. There would still be some toxicity without fixes but I think we sometimes underestimate how many people would just understand the challenges if there’s just some acknowledgement of the situations. There are obvious issues while just playing the game offline and online. If SDS employees are playing their own game, it’s impossible for me to think that they couldn’t be absolutely aware of each issue. The problems happen often. I’ve always liked the SDS guys, but the lack of communication has soured my respect for them. Disappointing but true. If there’s some communication from them that I’m unaware of, I would happily accept being wrong. I want to stay positive about SDS and I game I’ve loved for years.

If Jeter, the question is whether they will honestly grade out his fielding. He was overrated at SS his entire career. Great player, great clutch, great team captain, just meh defensively. Truth.

Just not a fan of them still giving us players like Kemp as an inning boss this late into the year. Sorry. I will always feel like the Inning Bosses need to be the legendary HOF players. There are plenty of opportunities through player programs, BR, Headliners, etc to give players that had a few good years. Maybe I’m a little biased. I’m a Braves fan and had to endure butthead Kemp for too long. He had one good run with us but he was terrible to have in the clubhouse. He was a prima Donna that couldn’t live up to his attitude very long. He was more interested in how he looked in a photo. It was a happy day when he was gone. Aside from that, though, give us the Mantles, Aarons, Ruths, Mays, (insert better players) and not flash-in-the-pan guys this late in the cycle. Frankly, I also feel like the overall collection rewards don’t need to be current players. As good as Trout and Betts are, it was still more exciting to get a historical player like Honus Wagner. I was excited going into the year for Aaron and Clemente as overall rewards, less so for Betts and current players. Kemp will never be on my team, but sadly I have to buy him to get the next inning XP collection boost. I know, I’ll mock myself by saying Boohoo.

Fielding is still pretty bad guys. 2-3+ times per offline game the fielders are not locking onto balls. If anything the infield defenders have gotten worse since the patch. I’m seeing many times where diamonds fielders aren’t picking the ball up and throwing it. Something is just not right about the game code this year. The baserunning has honestly never been great, but the baserunning IQ this year is way worse. Last night I had runners at 1st and 2nd with no outs. I hit a gapper that was easily gonna be a double scoring 2 runs, but the runner at 2nd refused to start running even though I was pressing to advance all from the beginning. Actually ended up being a ridiculous triple play by CPU defenders on Rookie. I want so much to love the game, but it’s getting harder and harder. I’ve watched a lot of the Players League from the beginning and it’s gotten so I even feel embarrassed for SDS during the games. The game code errors are evident in many of the games, and those games are only 3 innings.

I’m hoping for Hank Aaron or Clemente. With all the other new Braves added this season, I keep thinking Hank.

Regardless of how good or bad the news is, SDS remaining silent just makes it worse. I love those guys but this is their company policy every year at release when things are going bad. They don’t talk until it’s fixed. It’s a bad philosophy. The 2 games I looked forward to the most this year, MLB and Outriders, have both had terrible server situations on release. The difference has been that the Outriders people have discussed the problems with the community from the beginning and have promised fixes and makerights for the player base. SDS just needs to acknowledge the server problems and now they don’t even acknowledge that the Double XP doesn’t even work. Love the game every year, but I despise the silence on top of the problems. If I ran my business like that, I wouldn’t still have my business. SDS should do better than 2K with PR but they kinda just both aren’t good at it.

RIP to prestige requirement if that’s the case. I don’t play online but have collected a large majority of every type of card.

Also the mesh wifi system suggestion was an honest suggestion because last year I would constantly have the game drop out during play and once I bought one and set it up it instantly helped my connection. If you know there is an issue but don't want to do anything to try and help yourself except whine for someone else to fix it then good luck but it's not gonna go how you think.
The games aren’t being dropped because of local WiFi issues. I get dropped every night and I have impeccable WiFi in my house. The only games I have issues with are the ones with crappy overall servers, like MLB, 2K, and Outriders. If you haven’t had issues it’s just because you’ve been lucky the times you’ve chosen to be on. It’s not because of equipment you have.
I'm not saying all but a handful of the drop outs are probably the wifi. Last year like I said I would drop games all the time and as soon as I got the mesh system I stopped dropping games. It is definitely because of how sensitive the MLB servers are because it's the only game I had issues with but it still helped. The issue was last year which I'm sure bleeds into this year was the servers were so sensitive that if your wifi lagged or dropped out even for a microsecond it would disconnect you.
You are being shortsighted. It has nothing to do with local issues. The game runs poorly because of server-side issues. This happens to a certain extent every year, but has been compounded by the MLB forcing SDS at the last minute to open the game to XBox and game pass. There are bottlenecks being created by the required online communications in every mode of the game and menus.

You gotta like drunken streams from McGunski at least.

Headliners still worse.

Second one is 20k for a live series diamond. Definitely wouldn’t risk that. Too many 5k live series diamonds in the pool.
I agree 1,000%. However, I wasn't paying attention to the "Live Series" restriction, and I bought the card. And... I pulled a Trout. Seriously. I never have that kind of luck. If I had read the rules, I would NOT have bought it. Go figure.
Awesome man!

That’s gonna be so far down the line getting enough Prestige cards that it won’t be worth it. I’ve collected most of every single collection but don’t have one single Prestiged card. Don’t play online because of crappy lag, so I guess I’ll be liquidating some collections for stubs if that’s a requirement. It’s a stupid requirement frankly. They’ve moved more and more towards forcing online play this year. At least they’ve made most things possible with alternative methods. Requiring prestiged cards for collection will nix that.

Love Reggie. Love those animations after a no doubter.
-
Just wanted it to be a card of someone that didn’t already have a high-level card. Trout plays up with inside edge every day already. Love Trout, just not for this.
-
Since you didn’t need the completed LS collection for Trout, I’d like to see another player for collecting Mantle and Trout. That would make it more worthwhile.
-
Silly that they give Future Stars cards more power than BABE RUTH. Just don’t use common sense sometimes.
