As of three weeks ago, I had completed every program and was still at only 300k in the season XP. I realized how much of a grind I would have to do just to get Pettite, and it seemed too daunting. Now that Season 2 has started, and I know I can't get him, I've lost all motivation to play.

TA was ruined for me last year, and made even worse this year. They gave out less cards and made the season sets too hard to complete.

I played this game for the grind and earning all the players in sets. Now, it feels like the game is geared towards buying packs and playing online. It's just not for me anymore. It really sucks, and I'm sure I'll pick it up from time to time this year, but I won't be buying next year. The Show is clearly going in the direction of EA Madden, and I left that 4 years ago for the same reasons.

I'm curious to know if online players spend more money. Madden noticed that and everything shifted towards those players. I'm now two years clean from playing Madden.

If this continues, this could be my last year of the Show

Did I miss an announcement or something? Not only can’t I play in a created stadium, but the whole option to create on is gone.

I’ll see if playing just for a team to play with works for me, but I doubt it. I’m severely motivated by completing sets. It’s not even about the player rewards. I don’t play online.

Welp, it’s been fun…..

I’ve been playing this game for 3 years now, and my favorite part of the game is being NMS and being able to complete all the sets.

However, I’m seeing the season awards sets (I assume to be the replacement for Topps now) and there are cards you can only get by buying 30k packs.

Am I missing something? Is there really no other way to earn the players in those packs?

If not, I might actually be done with this game. If grinding doesn’t let me earn all the sets, there’s no point to this game and they will be a micro transaction company like Madden soon enough.

When does early access drop?

Ugh, Gary Sanchez again. Why? He had maybe one and half good seasons. He won't even be remembered as a top 5 catcher for the Yankees.

Being a Bills fan who used to play Madden, it drove me nuts to see the lack of cards they got, while the Cowboys and Steelers were tripping over cards.

As a Yankee fan, I do appreciate having access to so many cards, but I agree that it's excessive. By the end of the season, every single team should be able to have a 97 or higher card for every starting position. With the history of the game, it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Or, one thing Madden did well, was let you choose the team the player was associated with, so long as that player actually played for that team in real life.

If they are really going to progress the cards throughout the season, and not downgrade my favorite players; AND give us 4 wildcard spots, then I think I'm good.

It annoyed me that the best version of Posada and others came out first, and I couldn't use them after season 2 until Season 6. But if that Posada card is only going to improve as the seasons come out, then I'm good. I can't imagine there be more than 4 lower rated cards, or early high level cards, I'll need to hold onto throughout the season

By the OP Logic, I then definitely wouldn't buy the new games unless I want the roster update. And granted, that's a good enough reason for a lot of people. But if I just want a baseball game because I love the game, and I don't care about what updates they put in, I should equally be fine keeping last years game and playing that.

For me, it's the content of DD that drives me to the newest game. In that regard, I very much care about what changes they make. If the programs and TA are going to mirror last year, I may not get the game this year. I didn't like the repetitive nature of the TA program or that I couldn't use my favorite cards for half the year.

It's crazy to think about how big a deal it was for him to get a 100 million dollar contract. I think he was the 3rd player to get one, but they all happened close together and was considered a big step forward in salaries.

Now we have a 700 million dollar contract in Ohtani

I'm good with there being sets and seasons, just not how they did it in 23. I like the Sets and TA in 22, plus that cards didn't lock from use.

Sorry if this is posted somewhere, but I can't seem to find anything.

If they do the same Sets 1-6 with rinse and repeat Team Affinity again, I don't know that I'll be getting the game this year.

It was a boring, repetitive grind, and I couldn't use my favorite cards for more than half the year.

I want to give full context here, in case others are trying to do the same.

I play offline and completed the first 3 seasons in full. Halfway through Season 4, I quit because it was just too repetitive. Once the last season dropped, I decided to go back and finish what I could. Like many of you, I was missing about 30 cards from the Core set and Set 1. I grinded out the programs I missed and the Affinity programs.

I played a little bit of Battle Royale, just to get the first few packs of Core and Set 1.

I had 1.4 million stubs. I now have 150k left, after buying all the cards not available in programs and the Finders Keepers.

For those giving up on the Set 1 and Core because you think the prices were too much, I would recommend taking a look again. I bought most of my cards for 20k. I put sell offers in. I did not buy at the sale price.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue. I played the game daily during Set 1 and not even close to completing. I don't understand what I missed, besides not playing online.

I didn't even finish the Season 4 TA and I have that set long since complete.

I know they are done with the game, but they should have released more Core and Set 1 cards as the season ended. Just dumb

I need to get more Core and Set 1 cards, which only seem achievable through online battle royale.

I’m more of an offline player, and I’m getting crushed in these games. I think I need help with my drafting. I keep drafting pitches with high control, but they still keep hanging pitches over the middle of the player. They aren’t tired or having confidence issues, yes still can’t hit their pitches.

Anything I’m missing here, or suggestions to build a better team? I’m usually decent for the first two innings, and then it’s like the game turns on a mode where everything I throw gets knocked out of the park.

Help please

I started playing a little over two years ago (I know, not very long), but I was fully obsessed with this game. I'd be afraid to see the number of hours I put into playing. And like some of you, I was hoping for some more content, but wasn't careful what I wished for.

This copy and paste of Affinity Seasons, releasing the same cards with lesser ratings, and just the lack of creativity with some of these new programs has made me lose all interest in the grind. I didn't even finish the last series and haven't started the new one. It's just too much of the exact same thing. I don't care about any of the cards minus 1 or 2 from the Affinity seasons and some of the missions are too long, or not even enough to let you complete the program without buying cards.

Yes, they definitely put out more cards and programs, but they did it in a way that sucked the life from me and this game.

I'm sure I'll play a bit once everything is released. But my plan to complete every set died along with my desire to grind

While I agree that this race should be acknowledged as part of baseball history, I do not believe it should be celebrated. They all lied to us and made us look like fools.

They shouldn't ever be in this game, same for Bonds, Clemens, and A-Rod
