I want to give full context here, in case others are trying to do the same.

I play offline and completed the first 3 seasons in full. Halfway through Season 4, I quit because it was just too repetitive. Once the last season dropped, I decided to go back and finish what I could. Like many of you, I was missing about 30 cards from the Core set and Set 1. I grinded out the programs I missed and the Affinity programs.

I played a little bit of Battle Royale, just to get the first few packs of Core and Set 1.

I had 1.4 million stubs. I now have 150k left, after buying all the cards not available in programs and the Finders Keepers.

For those giving up on the Set 1 and Core because you think the prices were too much, I would recommend taking a look again. I bought most of my cards for 20k. I put sell offers in. I did not buy at the sale price.

As of three weeks ago, I had completed every program and was still at only 300k in the season XP. I realized how much of a grind I would have to do just to get Pettite, and it seemed too daunting. Now that Season 2 has started, and I know I can't get him, I've lost all motivation to play.

TA was ruined for me last year, and made even worse this year. They gave out less cards and made the season sets too hard to complete.

I played this game for the grind and earning all the players in sets. Now, it feels like the game is geared towards buying packs and playing online. It's just not for me anymore. It really sucks, and I'm sure I'll pick it up from time to time this year, but I won't be buying next year. The Show is clearly going in the direction of EA Madden, and I left that 4 years ago for the same reasons.

Is it me, or do the pregame flyovers with helicopters and jets look like Atari graphics to anyone else?

It's so bad that it's comical to me. Is this intentional or am I missing something?

I hesitate buying packs because they rarely cash out. I bought the 15k HR Derby pack and got Vlady, which I immediately sold for 100k. Because there were so many stubs out, prices tanked last night. I was finally able to do some flips and bought Judge, Trout, and Ohtani. My pull luck has been [censored], so that's a huge win for me.

I only need 3 more Diamonds to complete the set and finally get Jeter.

I’ve been playing this game for 3 years now, and my favorite part of the game is being NMS and being able to complete all the sets.

However, I’m seeing the season awards sets (I assume to be the replacement for Topps now) and there are cards you can only get by buying 30k packs.

Am I missing something? Is there really no other way to earn the players in those packs?

If not, I might actually be done with this game. If grinding doesn’t let me earn all the sets, there’s no point to this game and they will be a micro transaction company like Madden soon enough.

This is only my second year in the show and I came here after being pushed away by Madden. Madden has become pay to win in the most unbearable and obvious way.

I loved the show last season. I dropped real money a few times because I was late to the party and had some guys I wanted quickly. This year, I came in with a plan on how to flip cards, store cards, and win collections.

However, as I'm seeing this first set go, it seems like there's more cards so far that are packs only. There's a few players I want, but I have no way of getting them without stubs. With collections basically gone, minus the live series, flipping seems harder so far. The demand for winnable cards is way down.

I'm not trying to be negative and we are only a month in, but this is the vibe I'm picking up.

Agreed. There should be checkpoints. Once you complete 4, you can restart from there. Or you have 3 chances per draft.

I made the mistake of buying packs last year, before I realized how [censored] the luck is and how many packs they just give you for free in programs.

If you want a high value card and can find a way to flip for it, that's your best path. Packs, for me at least, are just a bonus and should not be relied on to find any type of card

Once every few games, the opposing team will hit the ball to shallow right field, and I'm able to get the ball in quicker than the baserunner can get to first base. However, the first baseman never actually covers first base. This might be a minor thing, but it does cost me an out ever few games.

Anyone know a way to fix this?

This was exactly what I needed. Jeter achieved!!!!

I find myself dreading the next 3 sets. While I did want more content, the copy and paste approach to the affinity seasons is boring to me. I would be okay with a first and second half TA, but I'm already over it after 3.

I'm good with there being sets and seasons, just not how they did it in 23. I like the Sets and TA in 22, plus that cards didn't lock from use.

Sorry if this is posted somewhere, but I can't seem to find anything.

If they do the same Sets 1-6 with rinse and repeat Team Affinity again, I don't know that I'll be getting the game this year.

It was a boring, repetitive grind, and I couldn't use my favorite cards for more than half the year.

I’ll see if playing just for a team to play with works for me, but I doubt it. I’m severely motivated by completing sets. It’s not even about the player rewards. I don’t play online.

Welp, it’s been fun…..

I'm curious to know if online players spend more money. Madden noticed that and everything shifted towards those players. I'm now two years clean from playing Madden.

Newbie here and I have some probably really dumb questions. I used to play the show a few years ago and can't seem to figure some things out on 22. Any help with these is greatly appreciated

1 - Pitching - How do I see where my pitch is supposed to end up before I throw it? There used to be a pitch setting where the icon showed you the intended destination for the pitch, but the accuracy would depend on fatigue, motion, etc. When I throw any form of movement pitch, I feel like I'm guessing where it will end up.

2 - My Roster - I have a ton of cards that I want to sell, but I can't find a quick way to view only the cards I own. The only thing I can find is the binders that show every team, and then scroll to the ones in color. There has to be an easier way to just look at my owned cards and then auction them, right?

3 - Suggestions for lower cards - I have a ton of useless sub 80 cards that have almost no auction value. What's the best use for them?

4 - Non-auctionable cards - If they aren't good enough for my lineup, what's the best use for them?

5 - Signature Cards - There's a mid 90's Mike Mussina signature card, but I can't find him in the auction house nor a way to get him from any collections. Where would I find him?

6 - Earning Points - What's the best way to get points/packs/improve your team? If you want to get any of these 100k and up cards, how do you really do that without just buying points?

7 - Online H2H - Anyone else notice any lag at the moment you swing the bat? I'm very new to the game so I know my skill is low, but I'm getting crushed online. Everyone is hitting them out of the park against me, but there's this odd delay when I swing. This happening to anyone else?

8 - Strategy Cards - How do these work? Are they worth a [censored]?

9 - Card Ratings - I see that some cards improve based upon how the player is performing. Right now Staunton on the Yankees is only an 80, even though he is having a good season. Will they release another version of his card or do I just hope they adjust the one that is out?
