Come to think of it I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a throwaway ball on one either

I’m still waiting for my turn for Mike Trout in ‘22….been in line for 3 years and 17 days so far and I’m hoping to get my card before Halley’s Comet comes around

Kudos on an excellent list. I always love these even if they don’t make it to the game it’s just fun to read the names and remember. Man, I loved the Braves back when Murph played for them…even though they were pretty terrible…half the team back then looked more like they belonged in an issue of Field & Stream rather than Sports Illustrated lol but I digress.
Seems like Dale Murphy started out as a catcher if I remember correctly but because most of his throws to nab runners ended up in centerfield they just went ahead and moved him on out there so they could get some actual putouts with that cannon he had. Great hitter too, of course. I was so bummed when they sent him to the Phillies that I became a Mets fan and have never pulled for the Braves again…..and of course that’s when they won the division about a hundred years straight without me haha
Great list - thank you for the effort good sir

@Finn_Scotus_MLBTS Brother I will never forget the absolute thrilling joy that I experienced when me and my neighbor first rigged up his dad’s VCR to record our Baseball Stars matches!! It didn’t take us long before we recorded a play by play audio track to go along with some of the recordings. We would come home from school, fire up a couple of games of Baseball Stars and once it got to be about 6pm we would grab the bat and ball (because there was ONLY one baseball in existence as far as we knew and you would lower each other into a sewer if necessary to fetch it back) and head out to this big open field that was nearby and play a neighborhood game of baseball until it was dark thirty….sometimes it would just be two or three of us and others you’d have ten or twelve out there. I never knew how good we had it and I wouldn’t trade anything for it.

These are all pretty horrible however I did enjoy the smoking in the dugout jab. Seems like I remember a few different instances of catching a glimpse of Keith Hernandez taking a drag off a Marlboro in between innings at Shea back in the late 80’s

Probably won’t be too much longer until a plate of Hamburger Helper cost $70 lol. Just sayin. You may all now resume the intelligent discussion.

If they did allow for this I hope it would come with a mechanism to send them out to the ump and kick some dirt around
