Couldn’t disagree more. Hitting feels great to me. Most realistic feedback we’ve had in a while I think. But every year half the community hates the game or something about it, so it is what it is.

I love it so far. My only gripe, and it's a small one, is the ball-to-bat audio. Can be extremely soft/quiet one decently hit line drives and fly balls. The P/P audio and hard hit balls sound great.

Thanks. That sucks.

Tried to play a buddy of mine online a while back. I’m on ps4 he’s on Xbox. We couldn’t figure out how to talk through our mics while we were playing the game. Is that possible on crossplay or no?

You lost me at "hit L1 to step out of the box"
Will I lose you when I say I posted this quickly and without proof reading? I hit down on the d-pad followed by a bunch of buttons when it looked like the game froze.
So then this one isn’t the game’s fault. Pitcher stepped off while you pressed the button to advance bases lol

I can’t fathom having 5 consecutive hours to play the game.

That's my biggest gripe right now with the game as a primarily offline player. I can shrug off the diving catches, lineouts, robbed HRs, etc but when I smash a ball to the gap and a dude runs back to second base to tag it gets under my skin lol. Ironically enough it happens with my better base runners too. Fortunately those guys are usually fast and it hasn't cost me a run yet.

I wouldn't have a problem with them adding an exchange once you hit 100% completion for the division. That's kind of the only way. I don't have a good explanation why it's possible to select duplicates of non-sellable cards, but it doesn't bother me because I just make sure I know exactly what I am doing and pay attention.
Hm not a terrible idea.
Really the best way to do avoid this issue from SDS POV is to stop just giving choice packs for the TAs and give a single card instead, probably in ascending order of overall or team based on their standings at the time they released the program.
So like if the program dropped today the NL central would get the Pirates card first, then the Cubs, then Cards, Reds and the last would be Brewers.
Of course, I'm sure people will complain about not being able to choose their preferred option first (Like not being able to take Castellanos or Hader first) but it definitely removes the issues for people who can't be bothered to pay attention to what they were doing.
Not a bad idea at all, but I was definitely glad I could choose who I wanted to start using first. Some cards I really wanted and there are some divisions where I just took pitchers first because their missions are fastest to complete.
I almost wonder if SDS wants players to make the mistake of picking a duplicate to add another layer of exclusivity to some of the collections. It's kinda messed up, but if 1-2% (or whatever the # of folks taking dupes is) of the player base can't get Acuna, Ohtani, etc then that creates a little more lineup diversity at that stage of the game. That's my tinfoil hat theory.

I'm a pretty big Miggy fan and want to run him at 3B (since there are so many good 1B options - I start Ortiz and have HRD Prince on the bench). But I already have Chipper and have him up to P4. Was thinking about moving Chipper to SS and Trae Turner to 2B. Moving Wander to the bench - a nice 5 tool bench player would be nice on the bench.
Would it be nice? On the bench?
Imo yes. For me at least. I struggle way more with hitting than pitching. My pitching carries me. 3B Miggy, SS Chipper and 2B Trae Turner > Franco pluggin in there (offense wise). Turner is literally unreal.
I was just being an [censored] because of the redundancy of your statement lol. A nice 5 tool bench player would be nice on the bench.

Bought him when he was expensive because I had the stubs.... gotta be better about being patient because at one point or another almost ALL cards will have their value tank. It always seems like it's right after I buy them, too.

Visual glitch in some modes.

I enjoy it when it plays well, but I don't play a ton online anyway. My most recent game I had struck out 14 of 16 hitters. One grounded out to second and you guessed it the other was a solo bomb making it 1-0 while I had 7 hits and was making decent contact all game. Just couldn't push a run across. I just kinda shrugged it off as part of the game and felt like I woulda won anyway but I decided to go ahead and quit to hop on COD with a buddy. I just had to laugh at how that game is pretty representative of ranked as a whole.

Also how would they differentiate between a true rage dashboard and a player that just has to leave to go do something and cuts their system off? Unless I am misunderstanding what dashboarding really is.
The “dashboarding” that people get upset about almost always occurs between the moment you hit a (likely) HR and the moment when it lands. People get mad because the HR doesn’t register until it lands, so if you’re grinding for stats you don’t get credit for the HR/ RBI/XBH or whatever stat mission you’re working toward. But you still get the win, so it really is a non issue to a lot of people.
I get that I just wanted to make sure I understood the actual physical act of dashboarding. Like if guys are just closing the app or hitting the button on their controller as soon as they give up a bomb, how would it be possible to differentiate that from when a guy has to go meet his friends for dinner and rather than quit the game he just turns his system off? Guys shouldn't be penalized for that in my mind.
You're right, there's no way to differentiate that. And really no way to differentiate if someone loses internet connection or power in the middle of a home run ball.
As someone on another thread mentioned, you used to be able to finish games vs the CPU in Madden online if someone quit. SDS could do something where the game keeps playing even though internet connection is lost, and then you'd have the ability to quit at any point after said lost connection and take the W.
And maybe they could do something where you don't get "Online" stats any longer after the at bat with the disconnect. Very convoluted set of circumstances with that idea, but it would be a good conversation starter inside SDS offices to address the frustrations with dashboarding (even though you can simply fire another game back up to continue accumulating said stats, it still stinks if you're a mostly offline player to have to enter another online game to earn something you would've earned if not for someone else's frustration and lack of caring).
In my mind this would be the best way to handle it. Unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world and I doubt it will change. I personally don't play online enough to deal with the dashboarding issue but I can only imagine how frustrating it is.

@hoboadam_psn said in Dashboarding needs fixed if we're going to have programs that track TB and XBH:
When you dashboard, you get a disconnect collectable.
When you get 30-50 of these collectables, you should be given a time out for a week.
I don't care if you quit vs the CPU. Enjoy the time out.
As a guy who does a lot of grinding against the CPU I can say this is an incredibly bad take. If it's possible to have a different collectible for CPU quits and it can be tracked separately, then sure penalize the dudes that dashboard. But making it where you get penalized for quitting a CPU game would be ridiculous.
-
Without seeing the clip idk. Rundowns are nearly impossible to win this game unless the opponent just gets caught in throw logic and you change direction at the right times. Against the CPU it's absolutely impossible.
The game is not fun because of the hitting
I can actually say that I've seen it all
