Ahh..never mind. I started it over again and haven't made an out through the first Boss. Must have just been my ability level changed very drastically between the first game and the next 3. Couldn't have been the software. We know it is right on. wink..wink.

Dude did the game steal your girlfriend? The last 4-5 days all you do is start threads about stuff you hate. Why do you keep playing? Suggestion: install a NES emulator on your PC, download Baseball Star, plug in your controller and have fun; life’s too short.

I just want stuff fixed so I can enjoy the game in future years. See a problem with that? If I don't say anything, guess what, I'm one customer they don't know is unhappy.

And, if I see some problems that others do, perhaps they'll speak up and say.."By damm, I've seen the same nonsense. Think we ought to let the staff know about it". That's all.

I post a positive one now and then. It's just the fact there is SO much positivity out here..to the extent it's manipulative positive IMO, the forum needs a few cynics to light a fire.

He’s been fine in the field this year, 0 DRS with how great his bat is is more than enough.

0 DRS saved at third is not very good. That’s like saying -10 DRS SS. His defensive metrics are near the bottom in almost all categories. That is absolutely the reason he hasn’t gone diamond yet. Now if he was ahead in the offensive triple crown I would be wondering the same thing but he strikes out a ton and his batting average last time I looked was in the .260’s. That’s not Diamond performer when stacked up against others who are diamonds.

It really is not that bad, he ranks 9th in DRS amongst 3b… he’s not hitting in the .260s either so I’m not sure you’re getting good data here. He leads all 3B in WAR currently, and sure you can say he struggled last year but he was nearly a 6 WAR player in 2019. His current ranking is just flat out wrong, especially when somebody like Jared Walsh is +3 to him.

They have it because not everyone that plays DD plays online to be the best. Also it would be incredibly stupid for a company to have 1 way of playing that has a steep learning curve.

I don't have this completely fleshed out yet. A pretty solid caption, but it's going to have something to do with the way AI predisposes most everything in this game and doesn't hide it so very well.

The pitches that are unhittable, just because the code says so and animates the "too late" "very late" nonsense. I dunno, I'll sleep on it.

And I ask all SDS developers to sleep on it. When I was programming some of my best solutions came to me in a dream state.

Not a programmer now. Was for about 20 years in an earlier life. After that I did a whole lot of programmer evaluations as a manager. Now I just critique other programmers online. Ha.

A mod that would accuse, not just once but multiple times, someone of saying the "N" word. A mod (representing Sony I suppose) that would accuse anyone of doing or saying anything negative in an out-of-context manner is libelous. Don't believe the company would appreiate some rogue harassing their customers.

It's just unfathomable. But, he has his invitation.

I would advise against that. Especially if you have night time infrared. That’s how all those paranormal activities got made. Scary stuff

I'm also a hobbyist videographer/photographer, so it's no deal. I shoot things most folks wouldn't think or care to shoot.

Unfortunately, and I looked, there were no spooks in any of my video. A few "phantom animations" though. Ha.

I'm more of a prodigy at sleuthing the discrepancies, failures, propaganda, and out right BS in this game.

My play is far from Prodigy level, but I'm not too shabby at exposing the wizard behind the curtain of deceit. It's fun for me. Do apologize if it offends anyone.

This year's version of the game has, imo, been more manipulative of the controller/PCI than past seasons. And, like everyone, I've hit mammoth home-runs when the pitch isn't even touching the inner circle and I've check-swinged with my controller. This, imo, is even worse because it's a blatant disregard for my actual swing and underscores the fact my opponents are probably getting the same "gifts" way too often.

So, how do you get any sort of decent feedback from your swing when the AI animation is so inconsistent? I understand it's likely AI coded to produce a preordained result before the pitch is even thrown, but can't the developers make the sleight-of-hand believable?

quick update - last night it happened 60% of the time , I'm a pretty good hitter and last night it was like I never played the game before....thankfully I can still pitch lol

There is no doubt it's much-much more frequent in the past few days. And, in a game that really only has one situation where a player can make a difference (the swing), it just takes away the entire value of zone hitting.

But, really, in this game it doesn't matter. We could all play directional and the results would be the same. Pinpoint vs pulse vs meter..the AI is still going to decide and animate where it has preordained the flow of the game must go.

But it would be nice if SDS would, at least, give us the illusion that moving the PCI in zone mode helps. But, to do that, they have to fix whatever they broke so the animation follows controller input.

Yeah, I just hadn't played the game in awhile and was immediately disappointed when I started back. Same ol stuff that I had forgotten about that completely irritated me.

Was doing the Demon Souls thing. Never said WTF or chuckled sarcastically out loud even once in over 50 hours of playing.

Something about this game just brings it out man, one of the more enraging games ive ever played. I play shooters often like Borderlands, genuinely enjoy that game and never gets me riled up. It's like some shady programming in this game designed purposefully to aggravate you

FIFA gets me going as well. These sports online games aren't for true competitors. The AI takes away the whole practice-get-better-get-gud possibility and it gets frustrating when you lose games to the AI..with an opponent on the other end of the wire that is being rewarded with animation that shows false outcomes.

I've never once whined or criticized a shooter game (played the best and most iconic). Because they don't try to market them as something they are not.

It's just gamers shooting at each other and sometimes you get the kill shot..sometimes you get the bullet twixt the eyes.

But you don't have this entire online marketing strategy built on DD or UT that attempts to leverage the real sports games and depict a false competition that is truly dictated by the underlying code.

That is what gets frustrating for those of us that have ever actually competed in the real-life games and understand the costs and rewards.

Honestly the announcing has just gotten worse over the years. "How much for one of those ribs" cringe.

For me, in conquest on vet or rookie once I bring in my reliever there is a 96% chance the AI will homer. It’s so annoying I either walk the batter or pitch balls in the dirt and hope he swings and does not homer off a ball in the dirt.

And yes after he homers it’s 1-2-3 K’s.

Also I know for certain after many many many games vs the AI they have hundreds of double plays vs about a dozen I have turned on them.

Another one, made a team of bronze and silver white sox, it’s hilarious to watch Eaton and Moncada homer with ease while Thome hit line outs with the same pci location as they homered with. Once I completed his mission he began homering regularly.

Also pitching by the AI I have a theory.
Imagine a dot, the AI then locates pitches off that dot. When the AI actually plays on rookie that dot is the middle of the plate. In moments that dot is 4’ outside the K zone based on your batters L/R/S position.

I play the rockies a lot on vet and rookie and face senzatela and there are games where he center pitches until they take him out and then you get a game where he is def playing on HoF and painting corners and throwing nasty breaking stuff and I am saying to the screen, um game, is this rookie or vet?

Generally I play Conquest on HOF just to keep myself interested, but for whatever reason I keep getting my territories attacked and I just simulate to get it over with. That didn't typically used to happen.

So, to speed things along I've played a couple of these on Rookie after my territory was ripped off. That's when you see all the BoB's and sacrifices for hits. HOF they'll usually K you when you're taking that bathroom break.

It help with playing too. I’ve come to realize playing on rookie is making me severely worse when I go back online. As for your stronghold just make sure you keep 5 guys there’s after you first couple of turn and nobody usually attacks it. If you’re just going for prospects I don’t think it matters if they take theirs back. You just have to keep a line connected to a stronghold so you can reinforce.
