And hate to break it to you OP there no such thing as negative exit velocity. I’ve seen negative launch angle but negative exit velocity would be physically impossible.
Lol. That means the ball came off the bat slower than it came in. That is hard to do if you make good contact. Just basic physics there. But sometimes it happens in this game.
What you’re describing is net exit velocity, there is no such thing as negative exit velocity. Sorry the term is incorrect.
How fast the ball comes off the bat is exit velocity. Not how fast it traveled through the air, or how fast it was when caught. Only when it came off the bat. I am describing Exit Velo by definition.
Now the term "Negative exit velo" I am kind of with you. It isnt actually a term. But I am sure it is in reference to the ball coming off the bat slower than it came in. Which was his whole point.
I got one better for ya. I joined this DD League and didn’t realize it was on Legend. He had Nolan, I had 99 Kluber. I won the game 4-3. Bellinger his a 3 run bomb off Nolan, but that isn’t the story. Kluber had 23 k’s.......but that isn’t the story either. Nolan had 27 K’s!!!! Now if you’re thinking, wait.....there’s only 27 outs in a game. You’d be correct! I struck out 27 freaking times and won 4-3! What a joke!
Ohtani toasted me on AS the other day. But now AS seems fine speed wise; really weird. I was expecting to have 0 contact in HoF event, made decent contact but still finished with a 1-0 “may the first lucky [censored] hit a solo shot” 4 innings win.
