None of the sources seemed to mention the goal setting aspect of RTTS - which seems to be a significant addition to help make the mode more engaging.

And that's the thing - all three of those things can be set by the administrator and people can opt-in to a league that suits them.

I think the option for CPU teams is a great idea - the league members can agree on how many; it's a great way to participate in the league and play meaningful games whilst between games with other members.

Custom Leagues is a great concept because it caters to both card collectors and those wanting a realistic competition with live players.

Well-managed leagues have been very successful and they are the ones calling for leagues to be improved - not for Online Franchise to be back in its previous format but instead for the many bugs that have been around from the beginning (and some introduced since) but also for improvements to the mode such as a draft (that is the ultimate), minors or injuries.

Realistically the only version of the game that could be considered scamdalous is TS18 where players only found out online franchise was gone after buying or preordering the game.

I think that’s what happened, maybe I’m confusing it with season mode though which disappeared in the same year unannounced. I feel like maybe they announced OF being missing before release but after the backlash.

Franchise players aren’t paying more for OF to be missing. They’re choosing to paying more annd expecting all of the additional modes and gameplay updates and improvements and what not.

If anybody has paid for The Show since 2019 expecting to play Online Franchise, that’s on them.

And Custom Leagues was a great addition to the game, back in 2020. Unfortunately it hasn’t evolved since, bugs and all.

Looks like with the inclusion of goals, call up is a product of both performance and attributes. Thats how they’re presenting it anyway. It may not yet have been programmed that way. We shall see.

Good summary. Going from the clip they seem to be pretty solid improvements and a good incentive to try out RTTS if not played for a while.

It also mentioned that potential caps at age 25. That may impact on a bunch of things too.

Out of every single person in this forum @Dolenz_PSN is the least tooly and most level-headed and reasonable participant I’ve ever come across. I’m sure that most of the other regulars would agree.

Never use the L and R to advance runners. always use classic (buttons and d-pad) baserunning.

@sgoforth3_MLBTS streaks continue from one season to the next, although I suspect the game doesn’t account for it

@GixxerRyder750_PSN and @RealPudgyPanda_MLBTS I reckon you're both right - uncatchable hits seem to be the problem. I was just able to switch fielder on a routine double. The instance that prompted my post as I said was a rob home run situation; I reckon it must now lock the player to only one fielder for those which is a shame - possibly an unintended byproduct to limit user control in that situation.

Weird that it's not in the controls guide, maybe it never was in the first place. I'd have to reinstall a previous version to check.

Hi all
Previously we could change the user controlled player when fielding with L2 button. That’s no longer the case in TS25, any idea how we change which fielder we are controlling?

There’s nothing in the controls guide, seems like a bit of an odd decision to remove the option.

Well, confine your online games to people you know and trust, friends, family, etc ... Accept that if you dip your little toe in the online gaming against total strangers then you're going to run into someone who thinks the little meaningless trinkets handed down for "wins" is worth all the cheating one can conjure up.

Not to discredit everything else you’ve said on this thread but you’ve nailed it perfectly in a single paragraph.

This is 100% the solution to enjoying the game, playing with people you can rely on to make the game enjoyable and not expecting every rando to behave like civil human beings.

I just played a spring training game in franchise mode, first game after update 8 and experienced consistent choppiness for the first time ever playing The Show. Stadium was date palm field or baseball city (whichever is the non-default spring training stadium).
