If you are saying you want to just pitch but it’s not registering, that sounds like a bug

Made WS as a right fielder my first full year in the majors and I was on the roster all postseason so think it may be fixed

Couple versions ago... 18 or 19... I was a pitcher in the Phillies AA system. Pitched a no hitter into the 13th inning. My team only had 3 hits all game so it was a pitching clinic all around. 3rd baseman committed an error which allowed a runner on with 2 outs in the 13th and a guy coming up that was 0-3 with 3ks already and the manager pulled me. Reliever gave up a home run to lose
Was so mad. I kept demanding a trade after that any time I talked to my agent heh

@M-A47_PSN thats a fair point. But as my RTTs interest has dwindled I’ve been plying more franchise which is fun in its own way.
So it’s as you said as long as people are playing it one way or another that’s what matters. So will be interesting to see what transpires next year. But I doubt it goes back to the old method. Though I hope I am wrong but I think the load outs are here to stay. I just hope they make it a pure offline mode again and give you the option to import it to DD if you so choose. Nothing annoys me like pitching a game and then finding out that time was wasted towards progression because you lost connection to the server sometime during the game

@SamuSuppiluliuma - I salute you sir. Your post is well written very detailed and hopefully something SDS looks at when trying to figure out what went wrong with this year's version of the game.
Going to sound cynical for a minute. They will look at 1 thing. How much money did it make
If initial sales were good, and if people felt obligated to pay real money for stubs to purchase things like equipment and perks, they will look and say “yeah there were complaints but they still bought it”
So any real change probably won’t come til the year after next. And then only if sales next year are awful. And let’s be honest, they probably won’t be awful
This is the direction they decided to go with RTTs so barring a financial loss I doubt a major overhaul will occur next year
In fairness I can live with the loadout system. Just don’t make it attached to DD so I can play when the servers are offline
-
Honestly 21 isn’t terrible with the load outs, but I agree with the statement someone made that it here really isn’t a RPG element. Not that there was ever a huge one.
Ways to make it better would be to, if they are bent on the load out system, add some RPG elements.
Let me be able to contact my agent throughout the season to be able to demand a trade or complain about something
Let me, on off days, go talk to the manager about pulling me in the 8th inning while pitching a shutout just because the infielder made an error and a guy got on base late. Or ask for a position change, etc
Have there be a variety of agents that I can hire. Each with skills that hep with negotiations or trades etc
Bring back the showcase where your play determines you’re draft position. And let it be possible to go in the first round if you do well
Have money matter. Let me spend my money I earn on off-season programs that can earn progress in an archetype. Maybe like a million per point so moving an archetype from 0-100 would cost 100 mil. Or something to make it more than a cosmetic feature
All or any of those would make it more realistic and immersive

I’ve gotten used to 21, but 20 was better overall. If you want RTTs go with the ps4
-
I was just about to post this same topic. I started a 2b last night and even if I break to 2nd right as the pitcher releases and I see the runner go, I never make it to the base before the catcher throws to me. And speed is 80 so my player isn’t super slow
-
Just saw you said you had 300 at bats at the all star break. That may be a bug then. I noticed when I was trying the 2 way thing I was always like 10-20 at bats short of qualifying
-
You may not have enough at bats to qualify. In MLB, and I assume in the Show as well, you have to have a minimum of 502 at bats in a 162 game season, or 3.1 at bats for every game your team has played. So for example, at 100 games you would need 310 at bats to qualify for the batting title.
Between games pitched and normal rest days the manager sits you, you might not have enough at bats. I noticed the same thing going through as a 2 way player and that’s what it looked like was going on
-
Check the archetype to position as well. I got crime dog diamond with 4 diamond perks. As a RF I am Ovetall a 93. I made a new RTTs as a left fielder with that same load out and it’s a 97 overall.

Instead of next appearance, after you get in base or steal a base it should have something come up where you choose to sim to next appearance, or watch the game. If you do sim to next appearance, green triangle on ps4, it fast forwards to your next appearance and you still get progression. At least I have been
-
When I am stealing I watch how fast the pitcher’s delivery is. I will watch the first pitch to see how fast their windup out of the stretch is.
For me I find that has as much, or more impact on my stealing than the catcher. If the pitcher has a slower delivery I will almost always steal the base even if the catcher has a decent arm. If they are very quick pitching out of the stretch then that can make it much harder to steal and I get thrown out more

There are times I wonder if certain parts of the game don’t recognize your modified stats and only go on your base Unmodified ones for certain things
I notice it in commentary sometimes. Modified stamina was 80+ and I was in the middle of pitching my 5th straight compete game, and 8th of the year in 11 starts, and the. Commentators start talking about how I’m not known to work deep into games. All I could think was it was my unmodified 50 in stamina that was making that comment come up
If it has an impact on commentary tracks it may on manager AI decisions. Yeah I’m a 97 overall as a stating pitcher but if he just looks at the base, capped out scores of 50s then he’s gonna think “why is this scrub on my roster I got guys rated way higher than the 50s across the board”

Trades seem very hit or miss. I started a league as the pirates (I like a challenge) and I put out a bunch of players on the trade block just to see what I could get. Got offered tatis jr for 3 players, all were veterans and none had a higher overall than 72. Umm ok? Then the Yankees offered me judge for a minor league reliever who was a 59 overall.
Trade logic seems a bit off

Simplified answer.... as a starting pitcher you can take the loss at any time. But to win you have to pitch at least 5 complete inning and have the lead when you stop being the active pitcher
So for example,
If you pitch 6 innings and the score is 0-0 when you are replaced, you can not get the win unless your team takes the lead before the relief pitcher becomes the active pitcher (ie you finish the 6th and your team scores in the next inning before the relief pitcher comes on in relief if you then you can get the win)
If you have the lead when pulled, you can get the win so long as your team does not give up the lead at any point. I.e. you have a 3-0 lead after 8 innings and the manager pulls you for your closer. They give up 3 runs to tie the game. Even if your team wins in extra innings because they lost your lead, you won’t get the win.
Hope this helps
